Honestly, I didn't know anything about Zager guitars. At some point during the last few years I heard some chatter and saw some advertisements but didn't give it much thought.
I had heard some chatter about Zager guitars but didn't give it a lot of thought. After all I have some Gibson guitars, Ovation, Ibanez and an assortment of others and I love the sound of my Gibson J185 EC acoustic/electric guitar. But when an opportunity came up, I thought I'd give myself a Christmas present of a Zager. Well what a surprise. When I opened the case for the first time I saw a superbly crafted instrument. Not only that, it sounded so sweet the time I played it, I couldn't believe the sound coming from this guitar. It wasn't even the top of the line. I have played many fine guitars including Martin, Taylor, Fender and Gibson. I have to say If the master Luthier built this kind of quality and used these woods to produce this kind of sound, what must the higher end Zager's sound like?
To make a long story short, I love this guitar. I believe it sounds as great if no better than my Gibson J185EC. I play this guitar more than my other acoustics now. I just love the rich sweet sound of this Zager. And the bonus is it is actually easier to play I love the slight extra space between the strings, especially when I am finger picking.

As an aside, the companies customer service is the best. Im use to being shut off after the sale by many other companies I have dealt with. But was pleasantly surprised by follow up emails and given a lifetime access to Zager music and guitar training. And to be honest, I did not receive the strings that were suppose to come with the guitar but after a call It was explained about the delay in manufacturing and they did sent me the strings on their next delivery. So even though not everything goes perfectly, They stand behind not just their product but equally importantly, their word.
I will sum this up with one word, Integrity.

We received our order for a ZAD900CE Solid Spruce/Rosewood Acoustic Electric AURA Pro Series that my wife and purchased as a college graduation gift for our daughter. We didn't want to open the package, because it’s a gift for but we couldn't wait - we needed to peek. When we opened that package and hard case, we were breathless - ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! The first thing we noticed when we opened the hard case was the fresh smell of sanded, cut wood followed by the glaring finish, color, and inlay -TRUE CRAFTSMANSHIP AND PRIDE! It was too perfect for us to remove it from the case not wanting to touch it and putting our fingerprints all over this beautiful guitar! We put in back in case and resealed the package.

I waited basically 50 years to buy a really top end guitar. In July of 2023 I finally sprang for a Zager ZAD900 12-string. The sound and playability are amazing - great volume, great tone, easy on my arthritic fingers! About a month ago the Fishman AURA pre-amp simply died. As soon as I had a guitar shop verify that the pre-amp was indeed dead, Zager set about sending me a replacement. It is a joy to have it back. I literally play it almost every day. I perform in a band and it is my go to guitar for nearly every song we play.

I was a military brat with Dad a US Marine Corps officer stationed at Da Nang in heart of Vietnam war, his 3rd which 2525 was released. I felt this song was an Ode to an impossible future: USSR Cold War, Vietnam, and My own budding involvement with the Peace movement. My Dad really liked the song too and I found out later he had connected with Buddhist monks in Thailand while on leave.
I think 2525 and “Eve of Destruction” really turned him toward deep reflection about war and life. 2525 certainly impacted me deeply storing a pondering of our future and now still here half a century later with same issues escalated for Humanity.

I received my ZAD900CE in black lacquer on 4/4/24. As soon as I opened the case I was struck by the beauty of this instrument. As I took it out and looked it over I was impressed by the fit and finish and attention to detail in its construction. When returning home today I had a beautiful Zager Guitar ZAD-50-OM-N waiting for me on the porch! What a great guitar. It sounds better than it looks and that is no easy feat. Easy Play is for real! It has a very light touch right from the factory and I can make the A chord much easier with the slightly wider string spacing. I highly recommend Zager Guitars to anyone looking for a guitar!

Hi Dennis, I really don't have a question for you at this time. I've been following Zager since the beginning of the year. I've suffered a resurgence with playing guitar, after a fifty year hiatus. I've been playing a £90 Fender Strat copy...blistering fingers and trying to recover lost talent. The last bit is a stretch, I'm not sure I had any talent to begin with! I am now sixty-seven. Why I'm picking it up is a mystery. All I know is it gives me great pleasure. I've watched dozens of you tube videos on Zager and have entered every giveaway contest that comes along (how do you do so many?!) I'll either win one or, once the company I'm with gets funded, purchase one. I have enjoyed my journey with Zager and will get me one of your picks as well. Just typing in Zager on the you tube search brings up many comparative reviews of Zager guitars to other major guitar brands. I will have the budget for just one guitar. So I've been incredibly anal, looking at everyone it their. After fifty years, a lot! Has changed. Progress. Zager are the only company I e found that invested the time and effort offering a complete, comprehensive support package that you inherit when u you get the Zager product. Not only will I get a superb guitar, but I feel like I'd become welcomed as part of the Zager family. By the way, I voted for the Gold on Black t-shirt.

I just received my ZAD900CE Solid Spruce/Rosewood Acoustic Electric AURA Smaller "OM" Size Tobacco Sunburst guitar. It came promptly and in perfect condition. It has a strap, a signed note from Danny, a pick, Zager tee shirt and nice little capo. The guitar is a spruce/rosewood OM model with Tobacco Sunburst finish and beautiful abalone inlays. Nice edge banding, too! Tge tone us great in low, medium an high notes, but if you want extra volume you might want the full sized guitar. I think I made a good choice, since I'm 5'6". As advertised, it is very smooth and easy to play! I love the neck and frets. included are directions and tool to raise or lower the action, but so far its perfect. I'm very happy with the features, build quality, tone and volume. It's a great value for the money! I think it's probably comparable with fine guitars worth 2 or more times ad much!

I purchased a ZAD900CE OM back in December 2023.
I love it. I have always had a hard time with the larger style and having to press so hard to get cords to play on other guitars. This guitar is awesome from the sound quality, ease of play, and the accessory package. The most perfect product I have ever had the pleasure of owning. This guitar is absolutely breathtaking.

I received a ZAD50-OM yesterday and I can't say enough good things about Zager and the guitar. It arrived less than a week after I ordered it, in perfect condition in their ABS case and with a bunch of neat tchotchkes. Got it out of the case, tuned it a bit, and it's a great guitar. Very bright sounding, but nicely balanced and very comfortable to play. The joinery, inlay work and finish is flawless and yes, it does play easily. The neck is a nice compromise between a slim electric neck and a slightly wider acoustic one. And I know that the extra spacing between the strings is negligible, but it does make that little bit of difference. I've played "at" guitar for the past 60 or so years, mostly noodling with electrics - and between me and my kid - a 27 y.o. guitarist and instructor - there are probably 30 guitars in our house ranging from 30s-50s acoustics, 70s-2020s electrics from $300 - north of $10,000 ,and this is as nice as any of them. And the buying experience was terrific. I emailed probably half a dozen questions about the guitar, shipping and recommended accessories and I got prompt answers from Denny Jr. and the Zager staff for each question. I really can't say enough about how pleased I am with the guitar and the Zager team. Sorry to hear that Denny Sr. is retiring, but it is obvious to me that it's a well deserved one. I thought the name Zager sounded familiar - listened to "In the Year 2525" for an entire summer painting my uncle's house in 1969. Never had any idea I'd ever cross paths with Denny Zager. Very happy I did.

I received my 900 OM this week and it is stunning! When I first saw the guitar, I thought it was the most beautiful guitar I had ever seen, but the pictures do not even do it justice, it is more beautiful in real life. It plays great! Just received by Aura and it is all I hoped for! Beautiful sound, beautiful finish. It plays like a dream. Right out of the box, Played a Johnny Cash song and the resonation was as rich and full as the recording. I could fnot be happier.

Unbelievable right out of the box. Set up was perfect! Playability was the best of any guitar I’ve owned. That includes hi end Martin and Taylor’s. Wish I knew about this sooner. Would have saved a ton of money. Never go back to playing anything else. This review is of the Zager 900 om guitar !

The Zad80 was bought for me by my wife. I am enjoying playing it. I never would have thought that spreading the strings out would make much difference, but I was wrong. This has helped me a great deal in playing. I even play for our kids church every Sunday now. My wife and I lead our kid's church. So, thank you all for creating a beautiful and easier to play guitar. I am not close to good yet, but I am getting better because it is more enjoyable to practice. And the kids are very forgiving.
