Long wait times, expensive
Sent 2 rolls of colour film in for processing. They took around 6 weeks to process the pictures and 8 before I got my negatives back.
I found a place local that processes colour for £6 a roll, and process twice a week. Not only is it significantly cheaper it's 6x faster. Until that place closes I'll not be using AW.

We're very sorry for the long processing times, however i can see that your scans were processed and uploaded within the turnaround time stated on the website at the time of your order: 15 working days.
We wish we could process your films quicker and cheaper - however with the amount of orders coming in - and the size of team needed to handle that many orders, it isn't possible for us unfortunately. We are aware of these limitations, which is why we provide the highest quality scans we can to our customers.
We hope we see you again on your film shooting journey!
Very Helpful Advice

I developed the film myself using ID11 and ended up with poor contrast - the AW team were very quick to reply with some advice and insight based on their own lab work. Next time I'll be trying Rodinal as they suggested.

An awful experience
An awful experience - I will never use this company again.
They seem completely overloaded and in meltdown.
This situation resulted in an almost 3 month period waiting for the full Develop, Scan and Return service to be fulfilled.
Customer service is non-existent, even when I called and finally got hold of someone, the guy seemed entirely disinterested - he just kept repeating “we’re the biggest lab in the UK… we are really behind just now”
Unfortunately, you will soon be sidelined by more efficient and communicative competitors. At least you won’t have that supposed “problem”.
I join the growing pile of dissatisfied 1 Star Reviews.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We developed and scanned your film within 11 days of it arriving with our lab - negatives tend to take a fair bit longer as we prioritise getting people their scans just so they know how their images came out sooner rather than later, especially in busy periods. Even though the negative return took longer - it was still done in less than half of the time stated in your review.
We're really proud to be so many peoples first choice of lab, but unfortunately we were caught off guard by the sheer amount of orders we had come in. We're really blessed for that to be our biggest struggle at the moment - and we're working really hard to better manage the current lag - which has already seen improvement due to the efforts of our team.
While we're sorry you had a poor experience this time we're sure that should you decide to place another order in future, we'll be much better prepared!
Great value for what is an expensive hobby these days
Purchasing film and having it processed is expensive, and I am gradually putting film through my collection of old film cameras - so this is a long, drawn out task. But Analogue Wonderland do a great job so I will be using them for all my future camera tests. Yes, they do take a while to process, so you have to be patient as the results are worth it in the end. I used to do all my own B&W and colour slide processing many years ago, but this is easier.

We're so proud of the quality of our scans - and we've found ways to get our turnaround time down a lot faster, so hopefully you won't have to wait quite so long on your next order!
We love to keep film as inexpensive as we can to make sure as many people as possible have access, we've got some deals on at the moment that include colour rolls from as low as £9, so it's a really good time for a restock if you need it!

Falls Short of Expectations
I really, really wanted to support this business as their marketing is wonderful, but sadly their customer service has fallen short on two occasions. Last year, my film wasn't developed until I messaged and asked about it, this year they seemed to have some technical issues, which they took the time to explain the reasons for (and sent a discount voucher to use by end of year), but, having waited three weeks for my scans, the "correction" element I paid for was missing - both films were washed out and needed to be corrected inividually by me. Happy to do this if the service was cheaper, but this is not what I paid for. Downloading is confusing also, it doesn't automatically save into a phone gallery as I would have expected.
Reluctantly, I'll be going elsewhere in future.

Provided you went for the professional editing package, those adjustments should have been made, and so we're really sorry they weren't. Lost film and no real solution
I sent a roll of film containing an entire year’s worth of photographs using Analogue Wonderland’s prepaid Royal Mail label. The parcel was marked as delivered, but the lab has been unable to locate it.
Their proposed resolution is to refund the processing fee and send me a replacement roll. Unfortunately, you can’t replace a year’s worth of memories. Also I’ve had to chase to follow up what’s happening with this roll of film as I heard nothing from Analogue Wonderland.
I appreciate the apology, but I expected a more thorough investigation and a more meaningful response. Extremely disappointing, especially when entrusting a lab with irreplaceable photographs.

We're really sorry for the loss of your film, with all of our team being film shooters ourselves, we understand the importance of the photographs our customers entrust us with. I can assure you that every possible step was taken when trying to locate your film, however when there is a mismatch with what the courier is saying on their tracking site and what we have marked into our post room, it is essentially impossible to locate the film if it isn't with us.
If and when your film does arrive with us in our lab, we will process it free of charge, but unfortunately it's in the hands of Royal Mail. I really really hope the film turns up.
