been a customer for 3+ years and never had an easy time dealing with them.

so started a policy with them in late 2018. they said "we'll send someone to fit your black box" i arranged the time to get the black box fitted but i was getting spammed with texts and emails saying "if you don't get a black box fitted ASAP, we'll cancel your policy" even though the date was set as soon as THEY could fit it....... then the black box fitter dude didn't show up and never gave me a reason as to why but i had to take the day off to get the black box fitted a different day, still getting the endless spam of "fit your black box or we'll cancel your policy" each time i had to spend an hour waiting on hold to deal with them. finally got black box number 1 fitted.

so 2020 rolls around and i don't need to use my car as much due to the pandemic but i still use it from time to time, i also have to fit black box number 2 because the one they fitted to my car was out of date. when i asked "can you remove it? you fitted it to my car, please remove it" i got told to call a number that was dead....... fantastic. but i also kept getting regular (every 10 days or so) messages saying "we've not detected your car moving, contact us or we will have to cancel your policy" so i spend an hour on hold just to tell them i've not really had the chance to use the car lately due to everywhere being closed due to a pandemic. the woman on the line said "that's no excuse for not using your car" and had to call back (after another hour on hold) to see if she marked down that i wasn't using my car much..... she didn't.

after that i start making more of an effort to use my car every 2 weeks at least but i still keep getting the "we've noticed your not using your car enough" messages and every time, have to phone them and spend an hour on hold. eventually they send me black box number 3.

during the postage of black box number 3, i get constant "install your black box asap or your policy will be cancelled" it's registered post, they know when it arrives BUT i still get the constant spam threatening to cancel my policy. i install it and make an effort to use the car more.

2021 i break both my arms. i physically cannot drive but i figure i'll let them know in advance that i can't drive to save the spam, wait an hour on hold and explain the situation, i'm in double arm casts and it's not safe for me to drive for at least 3 months. woman on the other end tells me "well you can still try, even if it's only 5 or so miles a week" I HAVE 2 BROKEN ARMS AND SHE'S TELLING ME TO DRIVE MY CAR.

next month i get the spam saying "we've not noticed you've not been using your car, please contact us or risk your policy being canceled" i wait an hour on hold AGAIN to explain the situation AGAIN and get someone who's actually sympathetic and stops the spam...... for about 2 months. then it starts back up again.

i can start driving again so i make more of an effort to use the car but i'm still getting the "we noticed you've not been using your car" spam AGAIN. the app isn't registering movement..... call them up and the staff at the other end accuses me of breaking another black box and i've got to send the old one back and they'll replace it with a new one. so same again. constant spam text messages and emails asking why i haven't fitted the black box that hasn't even reached me yet.

black box 4 arrives as i'm leaving for work on my bike, i sign for it and leave it till after work to install it. within 30 mins of me signing for it, i get a call from autosaint staff asking why haven't i installed my black box. i explained i was leaving for work when it arrived and i'll do it when i get home. dude on the other end is having none of it so i go home and install it on my lunch break just to stop the spam. website keeps crashing when i try to upload the picture of my reg. eventually get it to work.

3 months later i get the messages saying "we're going to send you another black box" so we're going to be on black box number 5. black box 1 still hasn't been removed from my car. the sad part is i have made a formal complaint about the spam but never heard anything of it. that was last year, wasn't resolved.

once it's time to renew, i'm going elsewhere because i can't stand the spam, the constant hours on hold, the nasty staff, the bad customer service, the expensive insurance (£780 a year for a 30+ year old with a 1.2 twingo)

Awful!

From the moment the insurance has been taken out there has been problem after problem.
We have complied with all the documentation requests but continued to receive cancellation threats.
First black box didn’t work and received a new one, eventually - along with threat of cancellation again- guess what? New box not working either.
It is an absolute nightmare to get a hold of anyone - over an hour holding each time. So much stress.
Steer clear and opt for another insurance company. So not worth the hassle, stress and constant emails asking for documents and threatening cancellation - when documents have been sent several times.
Autosaint App doesn’t work either.
Awful Experience!

For any young drivers who are tempted by the quote of low insurance please please save yourself the pain and distress. My son purchased insurance with this company he had the policy for less than 3 days and we had to cancel due to sale falling through. He called to cancel expecting to pay for the days used and a small admin charge (14 day cooling off period)
This company retained his deposit of £154.00 plus said he had to pay a further £88.00 to cover cancellation. After I spoke to the lady and both myself and son were in tears I said I would give her my credit card to pay the £88.00 she put me on hold and came back saying she would waiver the £88.00 but there would be NO refund whatsoever of the deposit!!!!!!!!!! To say I was speechless and bereft is an understatement. Save yourselves a lot of pain and read all the reviews - no other insurance company has such a low Trust Pilot Score.
I wanted to write to the MD but no information or details available. We have since received the black box with no information as to where to send it back!
I will be taking this up with the financial ombudsman.

I’m clearly one of the few lucky ones! From the moment my blackbox got installed I had a good experience all year… i don’t know, it could just be testament to my driving or just pure luck but I never had an issue with autosaint. Only stayed with them for a year because I didn’t want a blackbox again.

WORST INSURANCE COMPANY!!

Taken more than 30 days for refund and not even given full amount. Told to wait another 30 days. Phone lines are terrible. On hold for more than 1hr and only 1 in queue. Absolutely shocking company who don’t even care about customer service. Do not go with them no matter how cheap. Will also be reporting to local ombudsmen.

Never in my life had such a bad service…

Never in my life had such a bad service in terms of phone calls and assistance. Transferring from one person to another with 60 minutes or more waiting time in queue, cutting the line in the middle of waiting at times.. Do not recommend at all. Changed my address and was charged for that, and then 2 weeks later find out that the address has not been changed fully. Never able to log into the app to check my score - called autosaint and promised a letter with new login. A month later, still waiting.

0 stars worst company to deal with spend hours on the phone when you do get through to someone they say they will transfer your call but then they cut the phone and you have call back with extremely long waiting times usless worst ever customer service I wouldn't recommend this insurance company scum bags

I wish 0 stars was possible. January 2021 I had a non fault accident, I was only 17 at the time, rang them up to put in my claim and explained what happened. Over 3 times the call handler kept twisting the story and rewording what I had said to make it seem like the accident was my fault. Fast forward to 3 weeks later and a mechanic wrote the car off. Collected about a week later. Another 3 weeks later and I hadn’t seen a single penny for the now written off car. Rang the insurance up and their response was “we weren’t aware the car was a write off”?!?! So then I spoke to a manager who said the cheque had been ‘lost’. Funnily enough after leaving a review on here it arrived a week later. Then they told me I still had to pay out the rest of what I owed despite not having the car anymore, which was going to be over £700. I said no I wouldn’t be paying and so they ‘out of courtesy’ took it down to £150 as it was a non fault. I said I still wouldn’t be paying after all the shocking customer service and poor treatment and left it at that. A few weeks later they told me I had 6 months to pay or else. Now over a year later and I’ve just had another email to say that because I haven’t paid it’s going to the debt collectors in 5 days. The most shocking customer service and business I have ever encountered and I wouldn’t wish this stress upon anyone.

i wouldn’t even give this place 1 star, i took a policy out yesterday and got a phone call today telling me they have canceled my policy, all because i made a genuine mistake, i tried to explain and the man was very rude, please guys don’t give this company money now my insurance is going to be high every year all because of this place, pay the little extra and remember to check reviews

DO NOT USE THIS INSURANCER

I had a car accident that I emailed and telephoned about when the accident happened. When I I finally got around to getting a new car, I called them again to inform them that I wanted to place my current policy on to the new car. There first works to me were literally, ‘you were in an accident?’ That my friend is a massive red flag!

Also they forced me to pay £170 on a new black box that had lost signal, which is as damaged in my accident, even though the accident itself was not my fault. They then offered to cancel my policy for £200. So I had a choice to either pay £170 and stick with them or affect my insurance for next year due to a cancellation. Unfortunately I chose the former and I really wished I hadn’t.

Please please for your own sanity and wallet/purse stay away from them!

I don’t even rate them 1 star after cancelling my policy because I sold my vehicle they charged £45 cancellation and a further £75 admin fee! They said I have 7 days then 2 days later ringing with final notice and threatening legal action! No respect or trust for its customers!

Avoid at all costs

2 weeks ago I got an email from the company chasing me for £0, today I got another email demanding over £550 when they originally said that I owed nothing. Wouldn't recommend this company to anyone as the customer service is very poor and some of the attitude staff members is dreadful. Had insurance with them for a few weeks and they wanted to try charge me nearly double the monthly cost. Would advise people to look elsewhere for car insurance. Would give 0 stars if possible

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

No words to say other than do not use this company. They are awful with corresponding to emails and phone calls & their customer service is dreadful. On top of that, they cancelled my policy when they had no reason to and blamed it on an “internal error”. Worst insurance ever.

Cannot urge you enough to not use this company. The attractive price lured me in. I purchased car insurance with a black box from these guys. 1st year was fine, second year I kept getting 'Low braking score' on my black box. I was braking absolutely fine, so when I was given warnings, it actually caused my driving to be less safe as I was worried to brake whatsoever. There are also a load more reviews suggesting the black box gives accurate readings, which would not surprise me. These guys cancelled my insurance with 4 months left on the policy, after trying to reinstate it because I don't want my insurance to sky rocket due to a cancellation, they told me there was absolutely nothing they can do.

I cant explain how frustrated I am, I have had a black box for almost 4 years with no issue, never had a crash, speeding ticket or anything. Now I am left with the pain of having to pay through the roof for my insurance because this careless company hands out cancellations like there is no tomorrow.

Don't bother. Dreadful. No hire car. Jo out of hours support. No dedicated claim support. I could go on but I'm sure you get the idea. No to most things offered on the policy. £89 in phone calls and still going

The worst! Avoid!!

The worst!

They cancel the insurance with 2 months to go - no negotiation - so you get 10 months insurance for the price of 12, then they bill you a cancellation fee which you have to pay in 7 days or else - absolute con - avoid like the plague!

This is an update on a previous reveiw, it is now well over 5 months that I have been trying to sort out this insurance (march2021) and 3 months since Autosaint cancelled the policy. Again numerous emails and no reply. Leaving me with no insurance, no one years NCB, unable to drive and I will have to declare a cancelled car insurance policy if I can not resolve this.
I think autosaint have been diabolical about any service at all

As a footnote - it is now September and still Autosaint have not replied !@! DO THEY NOT BOTHER TO READ THEIR REVIEWS ? if they did they would see what an appaling service they are offering and do something about it 🤬

Just awful. Be careful. I would not recommend Autosaint for car insurance. Just so many limitations compared to our other policy for young driver. Although friendly customer service on the phone, the insurance policy is a complete rip off. We were informed that the mileage needed increasing - rip off fees, we needed to add parent as additional driver - rip off fees. The will not allow 'non own car insurance / temporary insurance' for another family member to drive the car. Other insurance companies allow this. Very disappointed with Autosaint. I would recommend looking elsewhere for young persons car insurance - we tried Insure The Box for our other young driver and received much better insurance policy terms with them. Just wanted to let you know.

Avoid Like Fire!!!!!

Seems to be a theme where they cancel a policy weeks before the end based on Black Box data. This box has never given a true reflection of driving since day one. They wait for the years premium to be paid and bank the balance when they cancel, in admin fees etc Crooks , Avoid like you would fire!
