Really disappointing visit

Really disappointing visit, it’s a real shame that we have a factory making chocolate and you don’t actually see any of the making. It’s all very childish and not really about what they do there. You get to see a couple of people putting chocolate into a mould another writing on the chocolate (which you could see in a Thorntons ). Really felt like a rip off. Big shame

Really disappointed

Really disappointed, first time visiting, got reduced prices due to a discount code and felt I was still ripped off.

We had booked a time slot however this wasn’t really needed as we could just start the tour whenever. The experience seemed to be over before it began and you don’t get a good insight into the factory itself.

Gift shop is extremely poor range. ( Cadbury’s should take note of M&M world in London, why? If you’ve been you already know, if you haven’t it feels like they actually love the product they are selling) also the prices are over inflated and a rip off.

Cafe is dated, confused layout and poor range of food and overpriced.

On the topic of confused layout having the 4D experience and museum around the back of the car park is a little odd.

On paper, reading the history of how Cadburys built and ran their factory, caring not only for the products they made but also the staff. You’d like to think they’d do half as much for people paying to visit.

Anyone reading this save your money. Go down to your local supermarket spend £5 on some chocolate and watch inside the factory and you’ll have had a better experience.

Visited yesterday with my family

Visited yesterday with my family. Cadbury World as gone down hill compared to our other visits. It appears they have made alot of cuts.

They have shorted the factory tour and shop literally spent more time queuing and no pantomime. You used to receive 4 chocolate bars, now you get 2.

Pros.
4D cinema.
Outside playarea.
Friendly staff.
Free chocolate.
Free parking.
Accept Merlin passes.

Cons.
Will only take two hours to complete.
Tour as been shorted.
No pantomime.
No characters.
Free chocolate reduced to two bar each.
It's cheaper to by chocolate from the supermarkets.

Overall, not good value for you money.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY Visited yesterday with my husband and…

Visited yesterday with my husband and two grandchildren costing £110. What a total waste of money. Outside was 4D cinema, not bad but only 5minutes long, and a small outdoor play area. The tour inside was hugely disappointing and a lot of queuing. I really don't know how Cadbury can justify charging the prices that they do for about 1.5 to 2 hrs entertainment at the most, it is a rip off and they should be ashamed of themselves especially whilst times are still hard for a lot of people. PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY GOING HERE.

Disappointing

I have checked all the dates up to December and there are no morning slots available with the merlin pass, however if you want to pay there are a huge number of available tickets in the morning slots. Attractions would rather have fewer people attend than allow Merlin Passholders to use their available slots. Just an idea but why not limit people to either low availability or 2 visits a year with full access to the times available.

Poor Visit to Cadbury World

Not been to Cadbury World in many years but took the opportunity yesterday when my son and 2 children ( Merlin pass holders so no charge ) to join them .
£27 for my ticket .
Very poor experience, no walk round the factory , took only 45 mins to get round . I bought a bag for £2 on the way in to hold the free chocolate and got only 2 bars each .
Very expensive for a poor day out .
Sorry Cadbury World this has gone down hill .

Bore fest

Bore fest, takes one hour to go round the place NO FACTORY, don't be fooled into thinking you will see a working factory. You will watch videos talking about the factory instead of seeing the real thing. Take your money elsewhere, a small freddo
teddy £16, overpriced trash. This is the biggest scam out there.

Glowing but long review of Cadbiry…

Glowing but long review of Cadbiry World.

Today, I bought my 3 children (12, 8 and 2) here. For myself, husband and our 2 year old, it was our first time.
I was meant to come here, some 28 years ago. So it's been a long time coming, as I am a huge Cadbury Chocolate fan!

Today was also the first public attraction I have been too since being in a self propelled wheelchair, and I was so nervous!

Disabled parking: plenty of disabled parking, although the metal bollards around the dropped curbs are a bit of a challenge and the dropped curb nearest the entrance slope is difficult to access due to a parking space. But it is doable.

Reception: reception staff were fantastic today. I didn't get their names though. We were seen to quickly and were given our accessibility pass.

Entrance into the magic: Due to the accessibility pass, we were able to get into the attraction pretty quickly and served by the lovely Hollie and Shaki (I really hope I have their name correct). They were both so lovely and a credit to Cadbury World.

Accessibility lane: During the majority of the areas, the accessibility lane was fine, but at some parts, the pathway was so narrow due to the decorative features and I believe customers may have moved/knocked barriers around a bit.
This lane was pretty much empty the entire time.

Rides and attractions: I have to highly recommend the 4D chocolate adventure experience here because we all loved it. It is a ride that someone like myself with awful back problems could go on because it was so gentle but so fun. We were also greeted to the rise by the lovely Caleb as well who we saw throughout the day and asked us if we were having a good time.
And the new lazer ride was really good. The only thing I'd say is it's too short. It's so much fun that you want to go on it more than once.

Overall, as a disabled customer, I felt so included, staff were just lovely and so helpful. The entire premises is disability friendly, more so than anywhere I've been before.
And the children's outdoors area is so clean. I commented on how clean and tidy the floor was by the bench area.
There is definitely scope to add more attractions which I'd love to see in the future. But I loved it here. And you really do have some of the best staff and customer service.

Unfortunately, and nothing to do with Cadbury World, my two older children became unwell. Staff were quick to help and also grabbed us bags for our long drive home back to Somerset. Big shout out to Lilly for helping.
My eldest son begged me to pop a little appology in here, as he was so upset he'd been ill here but also in front of other guests and worried he'd ruined their day. Bless him.
Sadly, we didn't get to eat at the restaurant due to this.

Hopefully we can return soon and enjoy the day properly without illness.

Going down hill big time!

I am local and have been to Cadburys World dozens of times over the years. We went in March 2024 and most of the place was shut down as they were in the middle of a redesign. No money off the ticket prices though.
Went again today ( June 2024) and we were utterly shocked at a number of things:
1. Prices have raised considerably, it cost over £100 for 4 tickets (previously around £60-£70 for us)
2. You used to get 5 free chocolate bars (4 on entrance and one after the melting pot section), now you get just 1 on entrance and 1 after the ride. Wow!
3. Prices in the shop have shot up. Disgusting £7 for a larger block of Cadburys and £2.20 for the smaller ones. You used to get bargains and offers but now it's just all over priced.
4. The interactive games that used to be at the end have gone completely
5. The bean ride which used to be so fun has been replaced with a rather pathetic shooting ride which was not worth the queue for.
6. No more walk through the factory! The tour inside took us less than an hour!
7. Prices of food and snacks is disgusting! £6 for an ice cream!
8. Gorilla has gone. You can't see him play any more. Advertising Avenue is now just a place to queue.

Overall it's heartbreaking to see such a wonderful place I've grown up with and know so well just turn into something solely interested in making money for as little effort as possible.
I'm sad to say it but I think that was my last trip to Cadburys. We are so so so disappointed 😞

Disappointing

Disappointing. We went 10yrs ago and about 6yrs also. Came today and was disappointed. There used to be characters dressed up in old clothing who talked to you. The history of cadbury seems to have been slimed down and not as informative. Seemed to spend .ost of our day queuing for things. The ride was short, queued for ages for the cinema which was short. No factory to walk around anymore like you used to do as the chocolate is made elsewhere now I suppose.
Missed seeing the drum playing gorilla, wonder where he has gone?!
Got less chocolate than previous visits too. Food is expensive so we didn't bother.

Really disappointing and continues to go downhill

I’ve visited Cadbury World a few times.
All I can say is it’s going down hill and requires a dramatic redesign. It lasted an hour, was so expensive and you come away with 2 chocolate bars!! When it first opened, it was more interactive, a lot more info, came away with 6-7 chocolate bars etc. The food there is extortionate but you can take your own picnic which is great so you can keep food costs down but the value of the tickets is just not worth it. The chocolate writing was closed, the chocolate making is dull, the new ride was lacklustre, the 4D cinema is the same film from years ago. I was really disappointed and won’t go again. It’s just not value for money. The factory is empty, they could do so much more.
Positives, no queues and the park is great, just not enough benches.

Too much money

The upshot is that this is too expensive for what it is. Bits are enjoyable, most staff were friendly but it was £25 per adult and £20 per child for 2.5-3 hours entertainment really. Buy a National Trust annual family pass instead for not much more. The chocolate bars you're given as a handout look like they've dwindled down to 2 per person. The melted chocolate pot was fun though. Just such a shame that you do feel a bit ripped off.

The worst experience and we have been…

The worst experience and we have been going for years.
Every time has got less and less.
We booked in for 9.30. It took 20 minutes to walk around the smallest part the factory has ever been then when we got outside the area where you write ur name is now outside and didn't open until 11.30 neither did the 4d experience.
A few years ago you could make this a lovely day now its done in an hour. So so disappointing since its become merlin.

A waste of Money and Effort

Visited Cadbury World on Tuesday 16th April 2024, what a waste of time effort and money!

I've visited Cadbury World many times over the years but this time was the worst. The section regarding the advertising material has disappeared, the famous Gorilla had gone, the Interactive tree which was a great educational tool had also disappeared and alot of the interactive/learning aids have also gone.

Previously there was a section on how to pack the Chocolate bars and showing the interior of a factory but again that's also gone.

The FourD cinema was also closed.

The new ride which I believe opened at Easter 2024 is "Rubbish"

The outlet shop was very poorly stocked and expensive when comparied to other "Cadbury Outlet Stores"

Not a very good experience at all and I won't be going back for a long time

Well what can I say

Well what can I say. Got given 1 bar of chocolate on entry and asked if I want to pay £1 for a bag to carry my 1 bar of chocolate....er no thanks.

Got given a second bar on exit of the 50 second ride and yes that was my chocolate experience in a flash.

Customers need to wake up and smell the coffee. It costs £23 to enter and you get given 2 bars of chocolate now. It used to be 5 bars 6 months ago and up until last week you got 3 bars and yet it continues to dwindle.

Better to go down Tesco with an empty carrier bag and stock up with chocolate than spend £23 going round this attraction. Remember 2 bars of chocolate is all you get and how very disappointed you will be.

Unfortunately Mr Cadbury as a quaker would be very disappointed having built Bournville for his workers and that Cadbury World are just taking advantage of families by giving out 2 bars of chocolate to maximise the profits. The slogan should be when it's gone it gone cus you ain't getting anymore! FACT.

Also absolutely zero handouts to Cadburys 200 years in business. What a disgrace that they couldn't even be bothered to recognise this landmark with their valued customers.

We had a great time despite the poor reviews on here

Despite the poor reviews on here making me fear I had made a big mistake booking a day trip to Cadbury World, I can honestly say that we had a great day there on April 12th. I took my daughter and two grandchildren who are 5 & almost 7. Admittedly they were not interested in the history of cocoa beans, but they did play a little with the screens and did listen as we explained a few facts. They liked the benches which moved when we were learning about making chocolate powder. They spent ages writing their names with chocolate and drawing flowers, stars etc… and they had a go at tempering chocolate too. They enjoyed the ride and shooting at the screens to gain points although this only lasted a couple of minutes. They loved the 4D roller coaster ride and the outdoor play area and the 3 free bars of chocolate that we each got.We took our own lunches and there were enough seats for us to eat at outside as the cafe is quite pricy. We spent over 4 hours there and had to drag them away. The staff were all friendly and helpful and it was both educational and fun. The silly high pitched voices of the cocoa bean nibs (I think they were called) were awful and nobody listened because it was impossible to understand, so that definitely needs changing, but that’s my only real negative.

Mediocre, missed opportunity

Is there anything more exciting for kids than the prospect of seeing inside a chocolate factory? How disappointing then that you don’t get to see any of it. What you get instead is queuing for a couple of mediocre theme-park rides with a loose chocolate theme; and a dated, uninformative exhibition. The real shame is that Cadbury‘s has such an incredible story to tell. The best bit is the free chocolate, but you can get a lot more of it for your entrance fee with a trip to the supermarket.

Go somewhere else

Our family day out was an exercise in queuing. Booked for a 12 noon entry, it must have been 12.30 before we were actually allowed inside. The first few rooms are about the origins of chocolate and have a few touch screens for kids to play with. Next you wait to watch short videos (2-5min) that tell you the story of the Cadbury family and how chocolate is made - these feature budget actors and judging by the factory machines were at least a few decades old.

You can then queue to watch how chocolate was made in the past, which amounts to watching a disinterested member of staff pour some melted chocolate into an ice cube tray, and fetch some previously set chocolate from the fridge. Another queue leads to you being given 50ish ml of melted chocolate topped with some buttons.

Then it's an hour wait for a 5 min ride where you sit in a car with guns ('Cadbury collectors') that you aim at various ingredients needed to make chocolate (basically a kids version of a haunted house ride at your local fair). There were signs telling us to inform a member of staff if we wanted to skip the ride, but no one was around. So we waited with our toddler in the featureless corridors (there's very little to entertain you as you wait)

Three hours in and we visited the cafe. A 12 inch pizza, tea, coffee, and orange juice set us back 28 pounds. Only 9 inches of the margarita pizza had cheese on it, and the coffee may as well have been a cup of hot water. Judging by the full plates on nearby tables as people left, the other food options were no better.

Outside we were greeted with more queues to do anything, including kids lining up to get on the playgrounds. We gave up and went home.

The highlight of the day was the smell of chocolate in the car park as we arrived. It promised so much. Delivered so very little. At least it was only a 50min drive from us. One family we met in the endless queues had travelled 3 hours from London for this dated 'experience'.
