The Dystopian Telecom Support Experience
After a failed fiber installation by Cosmote, I was left without internet and landline service for 3–4 days.
While trying to contact customer support (and it took multiple attempts, since the issue was not resolved quickly), I found myself repeatedly fighting against a poorly configured low-capability voice gateway that could not understand basic requests and kept looping through irrelevant options (“sorry, I didn’t understand that”, “if you want to pay your bill…”, “if you want to check your balance…”), without allowing access to a representative who could actually help restore the service.
The whole “experience” ultimately resulted in a €31 charge on my mobile bill in the form of calls to premium-rate support numbers (the said voice gateway).
And that is more or less the story of how I decided I simply could not go through the same support experience again during the next outage — so I changed provider.
Cosmote is the Greek equivalent to Xfinity
Cosmote is basically the Greek internet monopoly with customer service that sounds polite enough to keep you calm while solving absolutely nothing. If you’re opening an account, they respond instantly. If you’re closing one, suddenly they become very efficient. But anywhere in between, every issue turns into scripted apologies, fake “solutions,” and support agents telling you the problem was resolved just to shut you up and move on to the next obedient customer. The worst part is they know most people barely have other options, so the entire experience feels less like customer support and more like being trapped in a subscription hostage situation.

It is impossible to send and receive SMS' with this company.
When I try to buy a package that contains SMS there are no alternatives. When I try to chat with them the chatbot does not understand anything and a human beeing never shows up and the chat ends.

When you call customer service, you have to deal with a robot that constantly apologizes for not understanding you. You enter your number as requested, but it apologizes again, unable to process it. After four minutes, they start charging you €0.21 per minute while the AI continues to apologize and refuses to transfer you to a human, even if ask for it. Eventually, it just hangs up on you. When you try chat support, a real person apologizes because they can’t handle the issue: it can only be done over the phone. They are essentially forcing clients to pay for a service that should be free by law. No support, just criminal practices

I went to Cosmote Germanos in Agios Nikolaos Crete to get a Greek phone contract. This lasts 2 years. I live abroad. They didn't give me a printed contract. When I called to ask for a printed contract sent to me by email, they said I didn't ask for one, and I had to be physically present to have one, even by email. Surely this contract exists and a service company is obliged to send this paperwork to its customers. I've never heard a company refuse to send a customer a contract.

Η εμπειρία μου με την Cosmote είναι απαράδεκτη. Εδώ και περίπου έναν χρόνο με χρεώνουν για τρεις διαφορετικούς λογαριασμούς, ενώ έχω μόνο έναν ενεργό.
Έχω ακυρώσει επανειλημμένα τη σύνδεση από το προηγούμενο σπίτι μου (τουλάχιστον τρεις φορές), και κάθε φορά μου λένε ότι έχει διαγραφεί. Παρ’ όλα αυτά, συνεχίζουν να με χρεώνουν κανονικά.
Έχω επισκεφθεί καταστήματα πολλές φορές για να λύσω το θέμα, αλλά χωρίς αποτέλεσμα. Το πιο εξοργιστικό είναι ότι, ενώ πληρώνω υπερβολικά ποσά για λογαριασμούς που δεν θα έπρεπε να υπάρχουν, βρίσκομαι συχνά και με κομμένο ίντερνετ.
Πραγματικά απογοητευτική εξυπηρέτηση και πλήρης έλλειψη οργάνωσης. Δεν θα το πρότεινα σε κανέναν.

This is by far the worst telecommunications company in Greece. I strongly advise everyone to avoid it.
For over six weeks I have been trying to resolve a serious issue — I’ve sent multiple emails and visited their office twice. Each time, I’m redirected to their hotline, where either no one answers or the staff cannot communicate properly in English. There is effectively no real customer support.
The network coverage is extremely poor, especially on Corfu. I often have no signal at all, or my phone connects to distant networks from Albania, which results in unexpectedly high charges. Despite reporting this, the company does nothing to fix the issue.
I work online and depend on a stable connection, yet I am forced to travel daily just to access the internet. I have clearly stated that I want to cancel my contract and transfer my number to another provider, but they are making the process unnecessarily difficult.
Customers are constantly redirected from one department to another with no resolution. This level of service feels discriminatory and completely unacceptable. In my opinion, this company should be held legally accountable for the way it treats its customers.

Η σελίδα τους είναι χάλια, με το ζόρι λειτουργεί, μετά από πολλές προσπάθειες μπόρεσα να παραγγείλω κάτι, η εξυπηρέτηση Chat, είναι χάλια, με το ζόρι απαντούν, εξυπηρέτηση μέσο τηλ δεν το συζητάμε, δύσκολο να τους πιάσεις, που να ήμουνα και πελάτης και να χρειαζόμουνα την βοήθεια τους.
Γερμανική εταιρία αλλά με ελληνική νοοτροπία.
Should have a 0 star option
I live on a village very close to a big city so one would assume my internet would be at least usable. I used to pay for 50 Mbps and got 56, then all of a sudden they called and claimed 25 will be the max now but for the same price, now I'm getting 13 mbps at most on a good day and the internet works for just about 1 device not even providing enough juice for a lightweight videogame, if more than 1 device is connected, none of them has normal speed internet and if 1 or more devices do a more internet intensive task there will be no internet at all, also even on social media, 1 out of 3 videos won't even play due to terrible internet. (I'm also right next to the router with nothing in between so I just have little to no internet for the past 4 years without customer support even doing anything)
