Great service

I ordered some samples from Dotcom blinds and thought the quality was way superior to samples I had received from other companies. We had a slight problem with the sizing but this was very quickly remedied by Joe. He was so helpful and nothing was too much trouble, he constantly kept me updated and informed at all times. Would definitely recommend them on quality and customer service.

Brilliant Curtains - Would Recommend

We had some questions about delivery - it wasn't the teams fault but they helped us through the process! Went the extra mile in my opinion - it isn't just about the price, it is also the service and back up and these guys do it right!

I bought 4 large blinds

I bought 4 large blinds, unfortunately they went missing with the delivery company. When I did get delivery one of them was damaged. Emily was really helpful and arranged a replacement.
I love my blinds and the customer service was excellent

Beautiful Blinds

Easy to navigate site, lots of options and clear instructions about how to measure blinds.
Blinds came day before delivery date. They were easy to install and look amazing

Good customer service. We had a problem with measurements but had paid the extra fee to get this sorted out and it was speedily resolved.

Second order and very happy

Second order from this company and no complaints whatsoever.
My first order was for a very large Roman blind for a specific window in our old house - it was (is!) great quality and has moved windows 3 times now - still great!
Latest order was 2 blinds for our bedroom. Really quick sample delivery and then an easy ordering process.
Estimated delivery was 10/7/23, and here I am on 3/7/23 with 2 perfect blinds in situ and looking fabulous.
Very happy and would highly recommend.

Poor quality

Used this company rather than Blinds to go and the difference in quality was night and day. They look tacky and cheap. Fitted to bi-folds using sticky back strip which peeled off window. Then one of the blinds fell off twice and struck my wife on the head. Reported this to them and guess what, they said I had fitted them wrong (what a surprise) Wont be using this company again.

I'm sorry to hear you're disappointed with our Prestige blinds. As confirmed via email, we have arranged for new side channels to be sent to you to replace the one that was coming unstuck.

The reason we diagnosed the blinds as incorrectly installed is that the images you supplied didn't show a broken end tab, which would be the only part that would cause it to fall if it failed, and the brackets were in the correct place in the window. The end caps were intact on the blind in the images, and you complained that the bracket 'was incorrect' and not fitting correctly. There is only one type of bracket for these blinds and the bracket slides into the slot in the back of the plastic end cap and clicks into place. If it isn't put into this slot it will not be held in place properly and will fall down.

Likewise, in our reply to your email, we requested further images to help us see it was correctly installed to help us diagnose the issue, but we haven't heard back from you.

If you disagree with our initial diagnosis please get in touch with further images showing how the brackets are fitted to the back of the blind and we'll be able to look into this further for you.

Great after service

Brought some of these blinds a couple of years ago. They’ve been great, but think i tightened them too much and the inserts to the window broke. Contacted .comblinds and the team helped me out. Great after service….thanks Dominic and team.

Disappointed with Blackout Bifold Blinds

I ordered 5 blackout bifold blinds in Feb 2021.

From the start I have been very disappointed with the quality of the product. Initially one blind arrived broken and was however replaced FOC by Dotcom blinds. I realised early on that the blinds do not stay in place on the windows and edge down causing a gap at the top between the blind and the door frame, this then lets light in which defeats the point of black out. I enquired with dotcom and was advised to purchase some velcro at my own expense to stop the blinds from moving (not ideal!)

Fast forward a year and just within my warranty period another blind broke as the string snapped. Luckily I was just within the warranty and received another replacement. Now at just less than 2 years after purchasing yet another string has snapped on a different blind and I am at a loss on what to do as I am out of warranty and will have to pay for any replacements.
It will cost a lot to replace all the blinds (as I obviously want to keep all the blinds exactly the same/not mismatched) and I feel it pointless to spend more money on an exact replacement from Dotcom as I know they are not durable and do not withstand everyday use for very long. Having looked in to other similar companies I see that several offer a 5 year warranty guarantee and I wish I had considered this more when initially making the investment.

I would not recommend the bifold blinds from Dotcom Blinds for people that plan to use the blinds daily.

I’m sorry to hear you’re not satisfied with your blinds. There are a couple of points in your review that I’d like to address, to hopefully shed a little more light on the issue.

With regards to the blinds slipping, this was something that would occasionally occur with that type of blind due to the universal nature of the blinds and because there were no side channels with these blinds. We have since discontinued this type of bifold door blind and now offer the Prestige range of bifold door blinds which have self-adhesive strips that run from top to bottom to support the top bar.

At the time, we had no alternative to the type of blind you had purchased, and these blinds were marketed as universal bifold door blinds, which means there was no guaranteed compatibility with all rubber gasket types on all doors. This is why we would have recommended using double-sided Velcro as this was a possible solution to stop any slippage. That being said, we sold thousands of this type of blind and encountered very few issues, and the new range came about as a solution to further improve the existing system.

The second point I’d like to address is the cost of repairing out-of-warranty blinds. The majority of the costs are courier fees that we are unable to waive as these blinds need to be collected and then redelivered back to you. The other fee is the cost of labour. To repair an out-of-warranty blind we need to remove a factory team member from the production line to have them dismantle the returned blind, then repair the issue, package it up and get it made ready for re-delivery. The costs of labour and the disruption to production mean we’re unable to lower the price of repairing out-of-warranty items.

I ordered 7 Venetian blinds for Bi Fold doors. 3 full length and 4 half sizes for side panel windows
Blinds are great, easy to fit abd can’t fault them
However, just to be clear, these are not perfect fit blinds and there is no ‘channel’ down each side as described on the website
There’s simply a length of plastic that butts up to the rubber gasket of your window
So the blinds although fixed at the bottom do move around when the doors are open, and also the top bar of the blind is open so I dread to think what muck and stuff will be in there in a few months time 😔
If you’re wanting the real perfect fit blinds with the frame around I’d suggest you go elsewhere otherwise you might feel a little disappointed and misled like myself

Excellent blinds and service first class!

I bought bi-fold door blinds a couple of years ago and am super happy with them. The service was quick and the blinds fit perfectly and look great.
However, my daft dog had an excitable few minutes when the vacuum came out and managed to snap the bottom clips on one of the panels. Well, customer service was excellent, spoke with customer service who requested pics so they could confirm which part I needed so I sent them an email and they came back to me in an hour or so confirming that they were able to help and send replacement clips. I have no hesitation in recommending this company and when I’m in the market for more blinds, I will be buying from dotcomblinds.com

I thought they were perfect UNTIL....

For the first 2 years my bifold blackout blinds were fantastic. However the strings constantly need tightening. I thought these can't last much longer and sure enough they snapped.
I paid £100 for each blind and have 6 in total. I got a quote from dotcomblinds for new string to be fitted to ONE blind.
That cost?
£126!!!!!!!!
MORE than the cost of the entire blind NEW.
Please stay away and buy from somewhere else.
*(post reply edit: regardless of costs, it should not cost more to repair than it costs to build. Buy elsewhere or your blinds will only last 3 years)

As explained in our email, your blind is now out of warranty, approaching three years old, and as a result the repair would be chargeable.
The reason for this cost is the collection, repair and redelivery of your blind. There is nothing added to it, but this is simply the costs we incur being passed on to you.

Please appreciate that the logistics of repairing a blind is a bigger undertaking than building a blind, despite the task of re-cording a blind being seemingly simple. It is the most labour-intensive part of the process and requires a member of the factory team being taken from production to repair this blind.

Costs have gone up since you ordered in 2019 and transportation of goods and labour has increased also. I’m sure you can appreciate that we cannot be expected to foot the bill for out-of-warranty repair work. The offer remains should you wish to have your blind repaired, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
