i have used etax accountants for a few years now and really happy with them. quite easy to upload stuff and great that’s it’s checked so thoroughly . they are really helpful too. highly recommend .

I appreciate that Etax responded to my complaint. I did correspond with one of the managers. They cancelled my tax form and did not charge me. I appreciate their early response as well. However, even though they have been in business for many years, they should have a statement at the top of their opening online pay, that you will pay for their service and that they are a private concern operating as tax agents. People would not be confused about the difference between them and the Australian Tax Office's official online site for completing a tax return if they were more upfront. I still believe this is to legitimately meant to mislead. As it was, after doing my tax on the official ATO site the refund calculated was quite different as the ATO prefilled correctly some stuff I had forgotten about. Etax also told me that they have accountants checking returns and that, should have told me that they were a private concern. This is why they charge. Well it didn't as the ATO also has accountants checking returns and they don't charge. Yes, I should have been more aware as I am an educated person. I am concerned that some people get caught and then won't know how to delete their mistake without making the fuss I made. I was made aware of the following. When you search the internet for 'completing a tax return' and the page comes up with results, you will see the word 'SPONSORED' on Google, if you click on hide the ATO will be first in the queue and not Etax. yes, they are SPONSOREDand pay to be first in the search queue. You can then make the choice if you want to pay for a service or have the ATO provide most of the details on your return, check it and do it all for free. You also don't have to send statements from banks etc. I wish Etax well but still think that they are not upfront about their service. I will say again the charge should be on your opening page before the 'Let's Get Started button' and when the person is trapped.

Etax makes my life so much easier at…
Etax makes my life so much easier at tax time. They are fast, professional and know their stuff. Their review process is very detailed. Watching the refund go up and down on the estimate calculator can be a roller coaster at times but I do like that I can engage in the process. The back up support is amazing too. Just drop a message any time and it is never a bother to them to look into things. Finally, price is unbelievably affordable. My tax is never straight forward as I am employed and have other business activities. But they somehow bring it all together. I have used etax now for I think 4 years. I highly recommend them. Give them a go and I am sure you will be as impressed as I am.

Unhelpful.
Unhelpful.. they do not respond to questions I asked.
They dont respond at all.
I habe missed out on claims I could have made because they were not willing to communicate with me when asked questions.
I asked to withdraw my claim as I wanted to go elsewhere but it was lodged without my final consent or answering the questions I asked.
DO NOT USE ETAX ACCOUNTANTS
after about 8yrs I will no longer be using them
