Useful to have free access to 1939…
Useful to have free access to 1939 Register, spurred me on to start to explore my family tree, and very useful to add records to it.
Very impressed with the hints function, making it easy to grow my tree.
2 day free limited access was more effective,and made my research focused, rather than be confronted with vast array of records and being like a child in a sweet shop.

Not user friendly
I'm new to using this site and was attracted by the free access to the 1939 register but don't find it user friendly at all, I think I will be sticking to the site I'm more familiar with

Very good site
Very good site. Annoying aspects are a lot of American results when I'm trying to search Ireland only. And some records I've found on other sites cannot be found on here. But overall I love using it.

When doing a search you can filter your options to only search Ireland. This may help filter out the results that you are looking to avoid.

Really find it difficult to manage…
Really find it difficult to manage relationships between people, they keep getting multiple spouses, weird sibling or good siblings unattached. given up to be honest, opened a ancestry account and now use find as a cross check from time to time. Bit of a waste of money - really annoyed with both to be honest, keep trying to upsell and seems to be as soon as I find a link I want to explore its pay up time again eg forces info. Thankfully a lot of what I have found out is via the irish systems so freebies.

Not as easy to use as Ancestry
Not as easy to use as Ancestry. Some records I can’t find as with the other site. When putting in information that one actually knows you are then giving so many records which don’t relate.

Confusing and irritating
The constant emails telling me "we found new facts " annoying, then you check and often it is a fact I had already added or completely irrelevant. Could just be me, I found out how to upload a tree from another site and it appears to have shrunk, lots of family tree missing. The tree I keep getting shown isn't what I was concentrating on. Previously managed to get back to late 1700's on fathers side and it has disappeared. Recently subscribed again and now I know why I cancelled last time.

When looking at your family tree there is a magnifying glass icon at the top right hand side, if you click this and search for a name you think is missing does it appear? If not please send a copy of your GEDcom file over to us and we can investigate on your behalf.

There are connections made by mistake &…
There are connections made by mistake & no way of deleting them, when you go to view tree, there's an empty box next to someone that says add relative, but can find a way to delete this box, also there's no way to add a partner, you can only add spouse, parent or child sibling,

We're sorry to hear you are having issues with your family tree. The add relatives box shows when a person is missing the relationships for their parents.
If you head to their full profile and select the 'Edit Relations' tab you should notice a missing entry, if you fill this in with the information of someone already stored within your tree it will remove the box and slot them into the correct place.
We don't have the option to add a partner at this time only a marriage, you can however add as a marriage and then use the notes or facts and events to show that it wasn't a marriage but rather a partnership in the meantime.

I have mixed feelings about Find My Past
I have mixed feelings about the website, in the positive, it has a huge database of information, in the negative, it is not an intuitive process of adding the information to your tree. I prefer Ancestry's set-up which I find more user-friendly.

Tree Suggestions Replace Existing Facts When Records Are Added
I dislike the display of people in my tree. Such as suggesting other spouses or alternative parents and names for people when I have records in my tree to support the entries on my tree. It is ridiculously fiddly and time consuming to reject the suggestions.
When I add a record it is displayed as a new fact rather than be attached to existing fact in tree. I then have to change the preferred fact and delete the other fact. So frustrating.
