Lovely rooms, immaculately presented. Staff very freindly. Quiet location close to marina and beach and only 20 min walk to the pier.

Great location in the centre of Filey yet only a few minutes walk from the beach and gardens. It's an enormous plus that the accomodation has it own dedicated parking. The accomodation itself is modern, clean and very well maintained. The booking process is easy and any questions are answered promptly.

From start to finish I was kept fully informed and given useful suggestions for our stay. They also answered my e-mails by return, even on a Saturday.
The Arc at Thorpeness was absolutely unique and a wonderful place to stay, with attention to detail superb. A real gem and a letting company that appreciate their clients, well done all at Finest Retreats

Our group of 12 recently stayed at ARC Padstow to celebrate a friend's 60th birthday. What a superb house for a large group, all enjoying a bedroom each and plenty of room if anybody needed private space. The fully equipped kitchen was a delight, as was the hot tub and fire pit, with thoughtful additions of sweat shirts and rain coats for use if needed. A short walk away from the local pub with gorgeous home-cooked food, plus a bus stop outside the pub take you into Padstow within 10 minutes. Special thanks to Emma who answered questions promptly and organised a last minute change to bedroom layout effortlessly. If you're looking for a luxurious holiday for a large group, this is it! We will definitely look at the Finest Retreats portfolio again for any future group stays.

This is a nicely updated place with lots of space. However, you can definitely tell it's run by a company and not an owner who cares about the place. We called the first day because none of us could get the heated bathroom floors to work. The woman I talked to just sent me a link to the house instructions, which was not helpful because we already had those. When I called back the next day and spoke to a different person, they said the home management team (or something along those lines) would contact me. No one ever contacted me. When I called back a third time, and talked to yet a third person, they said someone would contact me. I had kind of given up at that point and no one ever contacted me. Again the place is nice, but there were many maintenance items that I'm sure have been overlooked because this is company owned. In two of the bedrooms, the shower would leak out onto the bathroom floor despite all efforts and you could plan on having your entire bathroom floor flooded after every shower. There is a pool in the backyard which is nice, but a hot tub would have been much more preferred with the generally cool Cotswold weather. The door handle on the patio door completely came off and we had to use an alternate door to access that space. They had nice battery powered salt & pepper shakers, but batteries were dead so unable to use those. The spices provided are very old and most were empty so no one is even checking those. You can tell that a cleaning crew comes in and perfunctorily cleans, but doesn't actually check things over. Also, the information given about the WIFI password was all incorrect, and we couldn't get a hold of anyone to find out what it was because it was a weekend. Fortunately, my son was able to guess it after many attempts, but the password wasn't any of the ones they provided to us. There is a washing machine that takes about 4hrs to do a very small load of laundry so, not ideal for large groups. Would also suggest providing more blankets in the sitting areas, and larger nightstands in few of the bedrooms that have very little horizontal space to place items. So this is a great place for large groups with the huge dining table and many sitting areas, but don't expect any personal service. Easy check in, nice kitchen appliances, comfortable mattresses and good location. So for a big group this works well as a base.

The house was exactly what we needed: clean, well-equiped, calm and cosy. And that for a very reasonable price. We can recommend it to anyone!

My stay in Bovey Tracey was lovely. Beautiful accommodation, very clean and tidy and exactly as advertised. There was scones and clotted cream left in the kitchen for us and the kitchen was very well equipped. There was umbrellas by the door - little things like that are so nice to have and make you feel right at home. Had a little trouble finding the place but got very quick replies from the Finest Stays people to help, and it was nice to have responses from a human being rather than automated message. Would recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at Ty Penbryn in July 2026.
The house was wonderful and exactly as described by the team at Finest Retreats.
The process through booking and the stay was excellent and the team were always available, professional and helpful.
If you need a big, special place for a family get together I would highly recommend Ty Penbryn.

Another beautiful stay through Finest Retreats at one of the ARC properties. Brilliant communication as always and the house was just perfect for our group. A beautiful few days in a stunning setting with everything we could have asked for.

Rooms were super comfortable and well appointed. House was unique and beautiful. The team was responsive to all my questions.

**Extremely disappointing – would not recommend**

We paid around £3,000 for a five\-night stay and, after travelling 3\.5 hours with our 18\-month\-old daughter, left on the first night\.

The property was not as advertised\. There was a strong cannabis smell around the entrance, loud shouting and swearing outside, noticeable damp/musty smells inside, and the accommodation was not clean to the standard we expected\. The terrace was also advertised as a feature but was unavailable on arrival due to a health and safety notice\.

We raised our concerns with Finest Retreats that same evening, yet they refused any refund or meaningful compensation\. Their response was to offer 10% off a future booking — despite the fact that, following this experience, we have absolutely no intention of booking with them again\.

The most disappointing part has been the handling of the complaint\. After spending £3,000 on a holiday we could not stay for, we expected considerably better customer care\. Currently seeking legal advice

Lovely company kept us up to date and were very quick to answer our questions. I can say had zero negatives in our dealings so far.

The friendly help and support from booking through to completion was exceptional. I would recommend Finest Retreats without reservation.

A great property in the heart of Filey town, 5 mins to the beach. Apartment has everything we needed and was clean and tidy. Big thanks to April for great communication. We will definitely be back.

When we arrived for check in - staying for 2 nights, it became apparent that the houseboat we had booked for our family was double booked as another couple were already in the property staying for 1 evening. We rang Finest Retreats a number of times but could not get through to anyone, which I do appreciate was on a Sunday, so not a normal week day.
We continued to try and make contact with the owner directly, who eventually managed to speak to us and seemed genuinely apologetic for the double booking. The owner offered us a hotel for the night, but we had food & drink in the car, and were a family of 6, so knew a hotel room would not suffice for our purposes. The owner managed to relocate us onto another boat for the evening.
Whilst we greatly appreciated being relocated, we could not access the new accommodation until 8:30pm, which meant we had to spend money on food & drink whilst waiting, had spoilt food in the car, did not have the exact accommodation we'd booked - the new boat didn't have a top deck for us all to sit out together, and we had to repack the next day and move our stuff.
The owner said he would notify Finest Retreats of the matter on Monday morning.
At no point did Finest Retreats contact us.
I attempted to call multiple times after our stay, and only eventually managed tp speak to someone after they sent me a review link.
I explained how disappointed we were and they offered a £50 discount on my next booking.
I explained this was not proportionate and asked for 1 nights refund as we did not get to stay in the accommodation we'd booked and we were greatly inconvenienced.
I chased multiple times and received no response to my request or email comms. I updated the owner and received no further response from them either.
The company do not show empathy or understanding, and lack basic customer service skills to respond to email communication. I would not recommend booking with them in the future.

Update**
I have now been in contact with someone at the company and the matter has been resolved and a full refund issued, which was processed extremely quickly. I appreciate this final conclusion, but do wish this had been resolved upon my initial comms.

We had a lovely stay at a beautiful terraced house in Ffestiniog. Very comfortable furniture and beds. Lovely John Lewis bedding. Everything was clean and tidy. We were greeted with milk and some yummy Welsh treats which were very welcome after a long drive. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would not hesitate to stay there again.
