Thanks for your feedback about the misunderstanding about the speed system you ordered. I believe that my colleague Nancy clarified that for ultralight speed systems, like the Kortel 2-Step Speed System Light you ordered, designed for ultralight mountain harnesses, it's quite normal to attach the speed system line directly onto your risers with a larks head knot (like kite surfers do, for example), without the additional weight of the Brummel hooks. Nancy also specially took a series of photos for you to show what she meant, and how to do this.
However, although the preferred method for some, this method of attaching the speed system directly to the line with a larks head knot is mainly only recommended for those who really want to save every gram. Most paraglider pilots prefer the convenience of the Brummel hooks, which weigh very little anyway!
