I’d give less than 1 star if I could.

It’s been 5 years since I took out my FF loan to pay for my LPC.

I borrowed £10k and £5k

I’ll be paying back over £27k when I’m done.

My first law job paid £20k a year. That meant I was being taxed as if I earned 20k but would lose £320 a month.

Do not take this loan out. It will leave you paying off £1000’s a year but only a fraction of that actually touches your loan amount, most of this goes to paying back interest.

This is a horrible company to do business with. The interest rate is outrageous. I pleaded for the interest to be frozen so that I can pay up the loan to no avail, this whole experience has left me mentally and psychologically unstable.
I feel so helpless and depressed over my situation. The weekly increase in the interest is driving me to insanity.

I took the loan in 2016 i paid the agree amount every month. But my circumstances got change and i agree to
Pay the affordable amount each month but after 3-6 months time they even reject my affordable payment and not accepting that i tried to contact them they make my credit file worse they not even come to some settlement , they not even help
People and they are day light robbers
, they also don't respond to settlement emails and everytime they email for interest increase we all need to gather at point to make a case against this company and take them court

DO NOT TAKE A LOAN OUT WITH THIS COMPANY. A young relative took out a 'student loan' the 12.5k loan had a 20% interest rate and would cost him 28k to repay over the term. He thought he would be able to repay early... unable to meet the repayments, which are due irrespective if whether you are working or income level... a repayment holiday was taken, then a credit card to pay this loan.. he is working and trying hard but with cost of living high and wages low, he is now in a debt spiral. High high cost of credit, it should be regulated against. The new sub prime lending fiasco companies like this destroy our young people and our economy.

I took out a loan back in 2018. I have always made my payments as agreed. But this month I contacted them because my situation has changed I am pregnant with a baby due any time soon and on universal credit. I said I cannot afford my monthly amount. I have been offered a payment holiday but I have been told my payment once I come off the payment holiday will increase despite me saying I cannot afford this - I completed an expense and expenditure form. How on earth can this brainless company expect to increase my monthly payment when I have stated I can’t afford the current amount.

AVOID THIS COMPANY. Interest ridiculously bloody high. Although I have been making payments every month without a fail since 2018 I am no where near clearing up of my debt.

Do not take a loan out with this stupid company

Do not use this company at all. They only let you take out money for a year at a time just so that they can refuse to lend to you for your subsequent years because their loans are so bad for your credit rating.

I couldn't get my next years loan because they said my credit rating was so bad from their product. They also said 'we dont say we can help you fund the whole degree' so why would anyone want to take out a years worth of studying ?

Even when they did accept my loan, they failed to pay it in and my apology was '£200 off my bill and thats all we're going to do'.

This is a company that leaches off you, stay away like the plague.

Save your life and do not take out this loan I feel this is a big scam.
At start you feel it’s all going good but then when your done with uni they will keep emailing you to start paying the after uni amount and me not having a job and can’t afford to pay £365 every month they which they don’t care that if I have a job or not they have asked me to now contact debt management and if not they will seek legal action.
The worst company I ever seen in my life please any student looking for a loan please don not take this, they will put you in some crazy stress which could lead to depression and they would still not care about that but still want get their money.

Future finance does not care about their customers at all.

I have been trying to access a facility for the past 18 months. All i get is an automated response rejecting my application. I sent mails requiring to talk to someone all to no avail.

Your team have been very helpful through my financial crisis caused by my illness, and have been supportive at every stage.

Students please don’t go there! Find another way. These guys ignored my emails and didn’t call me back when they said they would. I woke up one day and they had set my account as being in arrears and told credit agencies I had defaulted on my loan. However, they were the ones who didn’t call or respond to my emails so that we could arrange a new payment plan. When I told them this they investigated and found they were at fault. They offered to take about £100 off my loan as an apology but my whole credit file has already been affected. Then I satisfied the loan and they closed the account but did they tell their collections agency…nope! Still harassed day after day by them until I had to tell them to stop.

THE WORST LENDER I've ever used - I got into trouble in 2018 and couldn't afford the payments. I asked them to cease all interest. I proved my status with information from Stepchange which they ignored and continued to add interest. This continues to date and the debt is currently £17k almost double what I took out. Future Finance offered me a discount to repay which I still could not afford. Had they frozen the interest at the outset (like other creditors did), and got their figures right, inter alia, things might have been different.
Instead, Future Finance have registered a default on my Credit File.

This company has caused me so much stress. I took out a loan of £16000. I have been paying it for 5 1/2 years, and still owe like £14000. The way they treat their customers is abhorrent and I would argue, at minimum, borderline abusive. Despite having made all bar one payment on time, with no missed payments in the last 5 years, I got an email from the "collectors" team today threatening legal action for not paying by direct debit. I did not receive a single email asking me to pay by direct debit. The headline of the email made it sound urgent, and as if I were in trouble. We are in the middle of a financial crisis where people are losing incomes and jobs, I am okay enough financially, and still this email made my heart stop metaphorically, and I was shocked, and visibly stressed. When I called, I was informed that this was an automated email, and that I could continue paying by bank transfer with no issue. I asked for it in writing and have yet to actually recieve that. If it is true and this is an automated email, which one can "ignore", then why are they sending it so threatening? I feel bullied, despite meeting the obligation of paying my loan each month, on time. If you can afford to go literally any where else, do. No one deserves to be treated so poorly.

They harass and set you up for failure. I initiated a complaint on Future Finance months ago when they kept on harassing my guarantor and kept me out of the loop despite me informing them multiple times that I have left the UK they refused to change my details on there. I had informed them that I have been made redundant due to Covid, had no income and was starting my new job back in the UK in May 2022, despite that they took out a default against my guarantor without any notification to me. They refuse to call you if you are outside the UK despite it being their LEGAL obligation to notify you by call too. Do yourself a favor and save the trouble of EVER getting a single penny from these guys. They have LITERALLY driven me on the verge of suicide after putting me in the most desperate position.

Scam
I never ever took out a loan with this company but recently they have being contacting me via letter and phone. There is obviously someone leaking details to them to try and make a money. I will be seeking advice from my local MP and contacting the police.

This company is not even 1 Star. I advise all students, especially International students, don’t fall prey to the temptation. Don’t borrow from Future Finance.
You will be indebted for life. In 10 years you will pay back more then double the amount you loaned from them.

I am consulting with some MP’s through a close friend to explore strategies to monitor and regulate their Loan Structure. It is optimally Draconian.

I took out a loan back in 2015- and paid it off last week (05/2022). This was only because the company offered to halve the amount I owed (to £900 from £1800 outstanding). I borrowed £2500 in 2015 and perish to think what I paid the company. I am also interested in whether these loans are missold to students- I’ll leave that question hanging there…

All of these good reviews are paid for, as the company has said they will award cash to a raffle of their debtors who leave good reviews.

If you have any option at all, do not enter into a loan agreement with this company.

To be avoided at all cost. My daughter took out a loan in 2016 without seeking our advice and we have helped her by paying it off since. I expected that it would have been paid it off by now but after six years she still owes almost the total amount she borrowed - so we have been paying interest only. Daylight robbery!!!

If I could give no stars I definitely would!! they increase your interest rate constantly. as funding for "students" there must be something ethically wrong with this when you initially get the loan they flood you with Documents filled with jargon thats difficult to understand any student desperate for finance would go for it , advisors were very misleading saying the loan can be paid off easily in a few years, they straight away add a large sum to the money owed as soon as you take the loan, after they have sent you one annual summary , they stop sending it maybe so you dont realise that the monthly repayments just scrape off some of the interest.. Advice for anyone considering their loan .. run for the hills or seek financial advise from a qualified advisor..

I suspect the good reviews on here are all from people who have just been accepted for a loan and are unaware of what they’ve got themselves into. The sign up process might have been quick and easy but that really isn’t worth the overall experience.

I applied for a loan of £1800 in my second year of university, in 2019. I’m now out of uni for two years and owe this company nearly £7000. The interest this company charges should be downright illegal. They have increased the interest rate every couple of months since I graduated.

I am also behind on my monthly payments, after losing my job during the lockdown period. The communication from this horrific company is SHOCKING. Every other person I contacted to ask for a bit of breathing room until I was on my feet again was accommodating. Future finance quite literally said… nope, not happening. No sympathy at all. And whilst I wasn’t able to make payments, they were still charging me interest.

I urge students looking into this to PLEASE explore other options. Having a bit of extra cash to help you out while you’re in uni really isn’t worth being enslaved to this horrific company for the first 10 years of your career. Because that’s how long it will take you to pay it off, and you’ll be paying more than 3 times the amount you originally borrowed. And god forbid you struggle to find a job in your first few months of graduation…. These guys will have absolutely no sympathy for you and the debt will only continue to rack up.

What this company does should be illegal. It is the very definition of exploitative; exploiting students in unfortunate financial situations by offering them cash to help them while the study, fully knowing that most students won’t read the extensive small print and will have no idea what they’re getting into.

Taking out this loan is my biggest regret in life and I urge you not to make my same mistakes. Look at other options like low interest credit cards or even loans with better interest rates. Get a temporary job. Take a year out and work and save up. Literally ANYTHING else is better than this.
