We were initially assigned a conveyancer who then proceeded to be on annual leave during a crucial time in our house purchase. I don't blame the conveyancer as they are completely entitled to take that whenever they want, but to have them go away as soon as we started and us having to reach out to contact them - that is very poor.

Somehow that was nowhere near the worst thing. We agreed on a date of the end of January for completion, this was sorted and then January rolls around and it turns out, nothing has been done. When I say nothing, I mean nothing. The seller's solicitors had passed on their side back in mid November which was not actioned until the 7th of January. We were then blamed for choosing our completion date even though it was agreed to, for which we have plentiful evidence, my girlfriend was threatened (they said calls were recorded, we don't even think they are) for no reason when she was trying to be as helpful as possible and was initially incredibly kind when she didn't have to be. We tried to be as patient as possible but eventually something did change when it became clear that them being defensive, making up wild excuses and pinning the blame on us (the customer?!?!) about it potentially not getting completed was not going to work for them. It was eventually completed on time thankfully, we exchanged contracts on the day of completion at 2pm.

Annoyingly, there is so much more I could say, but it has been an exhausting experience so this is my last bit of energy for it.

Overall, just don't use this company, I implore you.

Gd legal are cheap for a reason. The service is poor. Searches and enquiries were delayed and not submitted for months with the excuse always of “It’s with a manager for approval”. Information was provided with no context, explanation or guidance. They failed to notice a missing completion certificate on some building works which had been conducted by the previous owners. We found out around an hour before exchange that there was a problem with one ID check which had been completed 3 months prior. We were passed between two junior solicitors, Nafees and Tulsi, who gave us no confidence that the process was moving along and a strong sense of incompetence. We had next to no communication from the solicitor, and had to chase for updates. We frequently struggled to contact our solicitors as did the others in our chain. The only way we could get a good service was to escalate to a manager; Myisha was a big improvement. Overall, they eventually delivered what was needed but made the process much more complicated and stressful than it needed to be. As first time buyers, the process was completely opaque; good quality legal advice and guidance could have made a big difference. I would not recommend gd legal

I had an extremely disappointing experience with GD Legal/GD Property Solicitors. They provided me with incorrect information regarding land ownership, which led to significant issues down the line. Their communication was poor throughout the process, and much of the work seemed to be handled by junior staff who came across as inexperienced and incompetent. This caused unnecessary delays and frustration. I strongly recommend that anyone considering their services read reviews carefully before investing time and money with this firm.

There were a few blips like people having holidays and extra paperwork being required by the other party, plus the Christmas holidays that held things up. However nothing wrong with the service. Khurram and Junaid completed it for me, and the price was way better than most I'd been quoted! I would use them again! No hidden extras. Paid what was quoted.

The experience we had with GD property lawyers was very good, Jaya was helpful, answered calls, reasonable price charged for the service. We have no problems in using them again.

Please avoid this conveyancing company especially if your purchase is a leasehold property.
The director rang me in person and advised me they were leasehold specialists. And the fees would be £1600 and an additional £350 to speed up the process.
Faizan Acram oversaw this and communication was not great.
On the day of exchange I was told the fee was £2600 with no explanation of the increase. And to my amazement 2 months later he emailed me to tell me he needed £20 for land registry which I presumed had been in the fees.
But what ensued was even worse. 9 months after completion I recieved a bill for over £1000 in service charges in the vendors name. When contacting the managing agents they said they did not know who I was and my solicitor should have contacted them and there should have been a welcome pack and they should have ensured service charges up to date and taken a retention. This was negligent.
When contacting GD legal with regards to this issue. The manager quickly told me Faizan had left the firm almost sounded like go away it’s nothing to do with us.
I followed their complaints procedure and chased up several times to no avail.
Their complaints procedure is to ignore! 6 months on now and heard nothing.

One of the worst experiences of my life working with this firm. I was purchasing my first property and Shahla made an already stressful experience ten times worse though poor communication and conflicting/incorrect advice which has ended up costing me thousands of pounds. On top of this, an attitude of contempt from the whole team when trying to achieve a resolution to any of the countless issues I encountered when working with them, which are still ongoing but I genuinely don’t have the energy to deal with them any more. I wouldn’t wish the experience I had on anyone.

My solicitor didn't respond to my emails for a few weeks while had my offer accepted, not provided the documents for the checks I had paid for, nor could they be contacted by the estate agents, it's only when I insisted to speak to the manager was another solicitor allocated - which could have cost the sale of the property. They were terrible at making time to explained what was happening with the enquiries after the checks. They also sent me the final bill with my offer letter, meaning I had to pay way over the figure quoted by the solicitors with additional charges they didn't make clear, when I enquired I was told I need to pay the amount to proceed with the sale of the property - again putting it at risk. When I made a complaint explaining the distress and how it put the sale of the property at risk, they responded with a one line email offering some money which did not cover the additional costs and distress but, after several months of this, I accepted and moved on. Please be warned!

They also rang me up after making this complaint, offered £100 as a 'gesture' but didn't send me the money after I said I wouldn't take the review down.

Update - got an email from GD solicitors saying they forgot to charge me £90 for the land registry - It's with the legal ombudsman now.

I never write reviews, but had to in this case. Do not hire GD Legal for any kind of property purchase. I had exactly the same experience as all the other 1 star reviews.
- No response to emails for weeks
- Often sent information weeks out of date
- Cost me £000s due to delays
- Never had any idea what was going on with my purchase
- Transferred from case handler to case handler throughout my purchase and they are often clueless about basics of property purchases

Found them online, and I called. Lewis Rabani made me feel welcome, and whenever the process was dragging (it was a probate property), Lewis was there to quickly resolve it.

I had 3 attorneys working on it, but the hand over was really smooth. The app helped as I didn’t have to print documents. I also didn’t pay an extra money that was not advertised.

The star was Ahmed Al-Ridai, the last attorney on the case. He was very professional, had attention to detail, and clear communication throughout the process. I needed to move in before September and he made sure the seller’s attorney did their part to ensure I got the key in August- a week before my rent expired.

Ahmed was diligent, and I felt confident knowing that my interests were being well represented. Even when I needed to pay extra fees, Ahmed was transparent with the breakdown of the fees. Additionally , Ahmed has been responding to my update on the post completion process.

I’m grateful for the smooth and timely completion of the transaction, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend GDlegal services to others.

Terrible terrible experience, I made the mistake of using them to buy my first property, they are nothing like their website. They had no care or consideration for my case, took on average 10-12 days to reply to any email, whilst they never responded to the sellers solicitor leading to them almost pulling out of the sale. Furthermore, they
never picked up the phone despite repeated emails, calls and voicemails to try to get any response. I finally got a response when I threatened to move to a different solicitor, with no care or consideration or explanation for their silence. My biggest mistake was not moving to a different solicitor sooner, as they lost me 3 months and the purchase would have fallen through if I stuck with them. If you want your case handled well and want your solicitor to respond to you then I strongly advise you to not use this company.

We employed GD Property Lawyers to do our conveyancing for the sale of my 5 bedroom house. We had Zumman for our services.
He was always polite, professional and kept me updated on a regular basis. Even when Zumman was on holiday GD property appointed a professional cover who continued to support us throughout the service.
I'm also engaged in the process of my partners Property sale with a different Solicitor and the communication is awful so thank-you Zumman for providing us with your services I will happily use you again.

Absolutely clueless people. No urgency to work on my case. Won’t pick up the phone and can’t get in contact. No idea of what the purchase price even was. The seller’s solicitors were chasing up these solicitors as they hadn’t heard anything from them! How embarrassing.

Very efficient service and excellent staff. Would highly recommend this company if you're looking for a property solicitor.
