Steer clear of these rogues

Having just read Christopher A Smith's review I can relate entirely. I am currently on messenger with HP who told me to unplug and plug in again, when that didn't do anything they wanted photos of my ink cartridge because clearly they didn't believe me when I told them I buy HP cartridges from Currys.
I did use to have an ink account when I ran a business, I am now retired so I cancelled my ink and just buy what I need.
HP have been sending me 'warning' messages for months that if I didn't check my account I would no longer be able to print. I checked it and sure enough they wanted me to sign up again and pay them an ink subscription.
I now have an unusable printer on my desk and `i just bought new cartridges which are not cheap.
Steer clear of these rogues

Starting out positively, but sick of the hassle...

Starting out positively, I am on my second HP printer and OMEN Desktop with no technical issues on either the new OMEN purchased 2026, the 2017 OMEN and the printer purchased in 2024 or so. My other HP printer dates back to 2007, maybe later, no tech issues. My significant other has owned numerous HP laptops - no issues. My issue is with the communication regarding signature required for delivery of the computer. Order Management kept on stating there was a signature requirement while supervisors and chat reps stated there was none. I attempted to change the time/location of delivery. FedEx stated that HP would need to contact them with my order and tracking numbers and lift the supposed exception that HP placed on my order. HP Order Management had the solution to the problem right in their forward sensors and failed to utilize the opportunity to create a definite win-win situation. For some reason, HP does not want to ship to FedEx Walgreens Shipping Centers, but only to the less convenient FedEx Shipping Centers. I cannot accomplish what I do with the shipment of other items when shippers allow the customers flexibility with their delivery date. Not only is it lack of flexibility with a customer; it is a bad case of the left hand definitively doesn't know what the right hand is doing with HP Order Management...and the manager I spoke with could not step out of the HP party/policy line of stating that there was a signature required even when the POD stated there wasn't. In the future, I won't order custom made computers from HP where I can't modify either the location or date of delivery. I'll just pick one off the shelf at Best Buy....it still beats the two motherboard implosions on the Dells that I purchased in 2016...

onwerkbare printer die ik ooit heb gehad. Heel veel storingen die continu het afdrukken stagneren en veel papier consumeren. Papier dat gelijk de prullenbak in kan. Maar wat mij het meeste stoort is het enorme inktverbruik. Binnen no-time ben je weer door de cartridges heen. Ze zijn niet aan te slepen en brengen exorbitante kosten met zich mee. Ik heb deze printer gekocht omdat ik al ruim 25 jaar klant ben van hp en eigenlijk best tevreden was over de snelle installatie en compatibiliteit met computers. Dan stap je niet zo gauw over wanneer alles goed werkt. Maar hij gaat er nu uit. Wat een geldverslindende toestand brengt deze printer met zich mee. En als je dan denkt te kunnen besparen met een huismerk van andere leveranciers dan ben je aan de beurt. Omdat je in goed vertrouwen de installatie hebt gecombineerd met een aanmelding van je printer bij hp kun je dat wel vergeten. Dan mag het niet meer en zorgt de doorlopende controle van hp er wel voor dat dit niet meer mogelijk is. Het is een dwingend concept waar hp je niet duidelijk over informeert. En heb je de printer eenmaal geregistreerd dan is er geen weg terug. Een terugkeer naar de fabrieksinstellingen helpt je niet. Je bent dan gevangen in een systeem waar je niet meer uitkomt. Er zijn echter zoveel andere topmerken die ten opzichte van hp onwaarschijnlijk voordelig blijken te zijn in het inktgebruik en je niet vastleggen aan allerlei verplichtingen. Als je echt wilt besparen betaal je misschien wat meer voor de aanschaf maar dan ben je wel gelijk voor jaren onder de pannen. Dan kun je dus eindeloos printen, printen en nog eens printen zonder dwingende afname van kostbare cartridges. Dat merk je gelijk in je portemonnee. Het gevolg van mijn ervaringen met hp is dan ook, dat ik nooit meer iets van hp zal aanschaffen.

I bought a large-capacity genuine HP refill cartridge from HP for my laser printer, which stopped working when only around one half had been used. The printer is printing fine but it generates an error message (toner low) which stops it printing except on reset. There is little help online. I will not be buying a HP product again - I have previously paid a price premium for their products as they exhibit high reliability but clearly they have given up on this business model so now I will be going for the low-cost option every time, for printers and refills. Goodbye HP!

A éviter !

Acheter du matériel informatique HP c'est de s'exposer à des problèmes. Mon ordinateur HP est en panne seulement au bout de trois ans alors que mon ancien ASUS de 17 ans fonctionne toujours mais il est très lent. L'achat d'une imprimante HP Deskjet 4130e est un désastre, impossible de trouver comment modifier le mot de passe car HP a fait l'économie du bouton "Sans fil" et il est très difficile retrouver le mot de passe. Aberrant. Plus jamais HP chez moi !

Ink and paper subscription is a scam, do not get taken in, you'll never get your money back.

They were happy to collect anything from £1.79 to £13.79 a month for ink subscription without supplying any ink for over 6 years. They make it nearly impossible for you to get them on the phone, and after hanging on for 32 minutes, drop the call. They did this more than once.
When I finally got hold of a person on the phone they were rude and abrupt, unhelpful and wanted to address me by my first name..I am over 60 years old and own clothes older than the operative!
THEIR INK AND PAPER SUBSCRIPTION ARE A SCAM, AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!

A chaque fois que je branche l'imprimante, elle imprime une page d'alignement. Ensuite, j'ai un message indiquant que l'alignement n'est pas terminé. Ensuite elle imprime encore une page d'alignement et quand je clique sur impression du document, elle indique que l'alignement n'est pas terminé, il faut annuler et recommencer l'alignement. Finalement j'ai 3 pages d'alignement avant de pouvoir imprimer ma page. Et ceci à chaque fois que je branche mon imprimante. Très bonne pratique d'HP pour vider les cartouches d'encre afin d'en commander d'autres à des prix exorbitantes.

Bought a new HP laptop and printer for…

Bought a new HP laptop and printer for voluntary charity work. How I now regret this decision. After just 3 months HP tell me the warranty has expired on the laptop. The printer worked after the initial setup, but only works intermittently now. I paid for help to get the printer working every time I needed it, but they could not manage any better than me. Both are going to the scrapheap, which is probably where they came from in the first place.

Only ever used genuine HP ink cartridges....

Bought a number of genuine HP ink cartridges online. Must have over purchased as when replacing one I noticed the use by date was 2022. HP Office Jet Pro 8620 said there were incorrect cartridges installed. They were not incorrect just "best before". Since they'd been kept in a sealed box unopened inside their original packaging in a cool, dark storage box I see no reason why they should not work. I tried multiple times over Christmas and the New Year, cleaning, wiping, resetting. Eventually my partner phoned support. They told him to do a factory reset. It will not even scan now, which is ridiculous since that has nothing to do with ink.

If you are interested in taking legal action with me against them please comment on this platform.

HP are Absolutely Hopeless !!

I have been using my HP Smart Tank 7005 quite happily printing directly from either my iPad or iPhone to the printer for the last year or so.
Suddenly HP decided to change that oh so simple process by making me now print via their hopeless app.

I want to scan from MY printer to MY computer WITHOUT HAVING TO SIGN IN TO A BLOODY HP ACCOUNT because it now very rarely works properly, doesn’t recognise my printer or on the rare occasions it does, it won’t print anything at all.

The idiot at HP that decided this is a good idea must receive one wedgie and one back-handed slap for each and every single printer affected by this hopeless idea. Perhaps then they will understand what Customer Experience is all about.

I shan’t ever buy HP again, talk about make a simple process over complicated.
One star…….only because I have to.

Hewlett Packard HAS LOST IT'S WAY

Hewlett Packard is making crappy printers in my view. I've had problems the moment I set it up. Not only was it not working but even the computer guy couldn't get it to work I had to pay him pay my assistant get someone online after their I talk to me to death and it took about four or four and a half hours and then it kept happening. It's such a pain I hate it. I really wish I never bought it. I'll probably buy some other brand, but I'm in the middle of a deadline. Many times I've gone days without printing what I needed because I couldn't get it to work, but the stores were not open when I wanted to go get something printed from the local shop. Very big disappointment. You can take 20 minutes or more just to get through human being.

Impossible d'avoir de l'assistance post-vente comme il faut

J'ai acheté une imprimante. La date du début de la garantie était anticipée des mois par rapport à la date d'achat. Impossible de parler avec un humain, si on téléphone ce n'est que le robot qui ne comprend rien qui répond. J'ai alors été trois jours sur l'assistance via whatsapp pour me faire reconnaitre la bonne garantie. Après, j'ai utilisé la même assistance via whatsapp pour résoudre les problèmes d'impression: de nouveau trois jours de discussion dans le chat et elle ne fonctionne toujours pas. Je ne sais pas combien d'heures j'ai perdu et le problème s'est empiré

Jeg købte en all in one printer, scanner og kopimaskine. Den er under garanti og har en softwarefejl. Når jeg ringer til HP Teknisk support Danmark tlf. 8040117, vælger dansk, kommer der en besked på min mobiltelefons display "der er ingen grund til at vente i telefonen, vi ringer tlbage"
DE RINGER ALDRIG TILBAGE.
Anden mulighed er at trykke fortsæt. Gør jeg det, skal jeg indtaste enhedens serienummer. Det gør jeg og får besked på, at oprette en konto og sende enheden til reperation. Jeg får ingen mulighed for, at gøre opmærksom på, at enheden er under garanti og jeg har behov for en on-line fejlrettelse af software.
Jeg kan simpelthen ikke få kontakt til Teknisk support.
Derfor er mit budskab: KØB ALDRIG ET HP PRODUKT, DE HJÆLPER DIG IKKE HVIS DER ER FEJL PÅ PRODUKTET

Ink subscription scam

There are lots of scams and rip-offs about in today's world. I manage to avoid most of them, but recently I was conned by a major corporation: Hewlett Packard. For just under fifty quid, I bought an A4 desktop printer/scanner that included a subscription to 'Instant Ink', whereby new ink cartridges would be supplied at the point when your printer was running out. I thought it was an option, but it seemed acceptable enough. The wording said that you could cancel the ink subscription at any time, but what it didn't overtly say (must have been in the small print) was that if you cancel they will remotely disable the bloody printer! So now I have a sizeable piece of junk sitting on my desk, and it will be going to the tip after just 6 months of use. Nice move, HP. You used to be a pretty reliable manufacturer, but now I won't touch your products with a barge pole.

A Passage to India

Recently purchased a new All-in-One PC from HP. I'm giving away the oldest of the 4 I've owned and will keep the youngest Windows 10 Machine which is about 10 years old. I also have two All-in-One printer/scanner/copier machines.

The new All-in-One PC is going back to Costco. Time to try perhaps a Dell.

I really haven't had it long enough to complain about the PC itself. However, the keyboard is absolutely junk, and neither the keyboard nor the mouse work. They've had me jump through every hoop imaginable to keep from having to replace a $20 keyboard and I'm done.

Between the bot named "Sage" which wasted an hour last Saturday only to tell me that it couldn't really do anything other than trouble shoot, nor the two chats for about an hour total, nor the second phone call to India where, try as I might, I could not understand a word that the gent was saying, other than I was the wrong person...enough.

Do yourself a favor. Do not purchase from HP. The customer support is worthless, and the keyboard and mouse they provide with their equipment is manufactured so cheaply that it's pathetic.

UPDATE:

Contacted the sales department by using a bogus purchase ID. Explained the situation. Was assigned a Tech to resolve the problem. He opened up a case file, and after I told him I was done trouble shooting and chatting and speaking to India, he agreed to replace the mouse and keyboard.

That was mid December. He closed the case file, and every week I get another email telling me that the shipment has been delayed--now until February.

If you mistakenly purchase ANYTHING from HP and it doesn't work properly, return it to the retailer and have it replaced. DO NOT RELY ON HP TO RESOLVE A PROBLEM!!!

HP printers - a disaster!

I am sending this copy to HP of a review about one of your printers which developed a fault after only four months. I am getting nowhere with the retailer, Currys, so thought you might be able to assist. Below is the review on what has happened, I am now without a printer, which is needed for work. I am not impressed with your product, but even less impressed by the fact Currys won’t replace a faulty product even under guarantee. And as there is no joy attempting to contact you online or by phone, hopefully you will see this!

In August I bought a Hewlett-Packard printer from Currys Leeds Birstall store. Last week it developed a fault and as the Currys website clearly stated faulty goods still under guarantee will be replaced. So I returned the printer and was told the replacement only applies within 30 days. They said they would run a diagnostic check with HP and get back to me within a couple of days. I waited a few days then returned to the store, to be told the printer had been sent to HP and could take up to 8 days. I pointed out the terms on their website but was spoken to by a very arrogant assistant who obviously thought speaking to a mere woman was beneath him! The following day I rang their Customer Service and was told my complaint would be passed to the Store Manager and he would ring me within 24 hours. Still nothing! So I rang again only to be told it’s 48 hours to allow them to ring back. Well the 48 hours are now up, I still have not heard anything, but I have spoken to Trading Standards who tell me that under the terms of their contract Currys have to honour their Terms and Conditions and give me a replacement. I really do not want to have the inconvenience of going back to the store, but there is no other way of contacting the Manager there. I have bought lots of products from Currys over the years, but obviously they don’t care about customers or their loyalty so I will never buy from them again. Others please take note and before buying because even though their website says they will replace faulty goods under guarantee, that’s simply not true.

HP Envy X360 laptop

So, the right hinge broke on this three-year old laptop and, when closing the device, the screen broke. HP support utterly disinterested and wanted £412 to repair. If this was user-error, I could understand, but this is a well known, well documented problem with this device. I would steer well clear of this device and, probably, HP in general.
