Hattons were always one of the best model shops.
Always well priced and well stocked.
Very efficient service and prompt response's to queries by friendly staff.
Hattons Originals products were excellent with their SE&CR P class locomotives the jewel in the crown.
Sadly missed.

As with previous experiences my order was processed swiftly, accurately and the consignment arrived in first class condition. Prices always competitive. I was gutted to learn that Hattons are closing down - yet another wonderful business soon to be lost. I wish those who work for them all the best.

I purchased some unpainted dapol wagon bodies shortly after hearing that Hattons were closing. They arrived very quickly and well packaged.
My wife and I have ordered new items occasionally from them since my return to model railways in 2019, and they have always delivered good service.

Just before Christmas I ordered a very rare pre owned O scale vehicle, the Bentley State Limousine by Minichamps. It was despatched the same day and arrived before Christmas. Amazing service, great product, in very secure packaging. I'm very sad to hear they're closing down, I've bought a lot from them over the years, they will be missed.

However, recently the sheer volume of emails with offers was becoming irritating, sometimes twice a day.
Offers that sometimes sold out within minutes of arriving, making me suspicious of whether they ever existed.
The quality of some of their own products hasn't been great, but the real killer has been the ridiculously high prices of what are fairly cheaply produced, Chinese, models.
Prices over £200 for simple locomotives was unsustainable.
Sometimes, too much choice and variations can be a bad thing.
Maybe Hattons have been just too enthusiastic, a fault that can be levelled at manufacturers like Hornby.
The trouble is that many supporters of the hobby are there because of the Britishness of Hattons and the products of decades ago.

Bought a £200 + pre-used loco from them and received a loco with the wrong livery, motor doesn't work and was received in super dirty condition. The livery of the current loco is priced £100 cheaper than the livery I requested, furthermore the name plate was deceptively glued on to both sides of the loco pretending to be the £200 + loco. I am furious to have trusted this online retailer from all the online reviews and video bloggers that reference this store. NEVER BUY used from this store. A complete rip off experience.

I have ordered a number of items and chose the trunk to save postage. One item was in the trunk and I was surprised when they advised me it was going to me sent before all items were available. I was not charged delivery and was very pleased with the service. Just waiting for the remaining items to be available and look forward to receipt. 100% pleased with service

I've been using their excellent service for many years and have never been disappointed. Through easy ordering, secure packaging, speedy delivery and great communication, there's nothing to not like.

Hattons is always efficient and the staff go the 'extra mile' to ensure everything is dealt with quickly and fairly. I have used their shop for many years and cannot praise them enough.
