A nightmare.

Just horrendous.

My PC (worth 1.8K) arrived smashed to bits. Glass everywhere, graphics card de-mounted and bent, frame bent and the front cover broken. Ok you could say it was the delivery companies fault. No. PC was packed in the worst box I've ever seen, with 1 layer of bubble wrap.

Lazy and pathetic effort.

Ok so let's get it returned and refunded. 1 week since making contact I have spoken to 6 people in total. The collection was eventually organized for today. Which didn't happen, so I have had to talk to another person today. Endless disappointment and terrible service.

Avoid.

Missing Parts

I accidentally posted this for the .co.uk site first so reuploading for the .ie
This is mainly about how poorly I felt a complaint I had was handled but I'll lay out what happened and let you decide if my review is fair.
I bought a refurbished gaming monitor which they graded as a1. Grade a1 means practically new, removed from box and immediately sent back is their description.
When it arrived (very promptly) I started to assemble it only to realise there was a screw missing from it, this was very small so that's understandable that this could happen but there was also two cables missing. When I wrote to them they very quickly (all exchanges were very quick on their end to be fair) that I would have a dedicated support agent to work on the issue, although I ended up dealing with more than 3 people based on email sign offs. They initially said I had to supply them with the parts numbers for the missing pieces which none of the manuals listed and eventually said they did not have any of the parts (I find it hard to believe an electronics company wouldn't have a hdmi cable which was one of the missing cables). Their solution was they would refund me £50 and I could go buy the pieces myself, so finding a specific screw that would fit the exact monitor, a hdmi cable, and a directport cable. £50 was approximately 15% of the monitor cost. I was not happy with this and asked repeatedly how I could be sure of the monitors quality given the specific checks they claim to do managed to miss several missing pieces but was not given an answer but was just pushed to return the monitor or accept the partial refund. The exchanges with customer service were regularly unhelpful with questions not answered. I haven't had a chance to test the monitor properly as I don't want to set it up without the full structural support of the missing screw but seems fine besides. The responses were fast and polite in tone.

Final edit: Laptopsdirect.ie have not claimed this site but this review is also up on their co.uk site where they initially responded but when I said I was an .ie user they stopped so just to be more cautious if you're buying from Ireland as I think the quality of customer service is poorer.

Toshiba Dynabook laptop Order

Ordered a Toshiba Dynabook laptop and it arrived on time and in perfect condition. Very pleased with purchase and price ! Great Laptop ! Also don't forget DPD for their brilliant delivery service !

Damaged item

I ordered Kolink PC case from this seller. The case came damaged (glass side panel was shattered to pieces). When the issue was raised I was offered 10 euro refund on return or 20 euro if I keep the case. I couldn't believe but I had no choice to accept the refund as I knew that there will be no better option,at least I could find replacement glass.
I got in touch with Kolink just to find out where could I purchase the glass but they were kind enough to offer the glass. That's a true customer care. Take note laptopsditect.ie!!!

If I could give no stars I would. Don't buy of these scammers go elsewhere with your money.

My experience is as follows.
1. Ordered TV 13 January to be told after it was out of stock and to reorder.
2. Reordered new TV and Laptopsdirect.ie took payment of 350 euros.
3. No sign of TV two weeks later on delivery date after paying over 20euros also for delivery.
4. Emailed customer care who said the TV was not in stock AGAIN and they would call back in 2 days to help resolve.
5. Rang customer care as I was not waiting a further 2 days for a phonecall to be told the only resolution is a smaller TV but I would have to pay extra money!
6. Cancelled order and asked for refund.
7. They falsely advertise products to try keep your money and to get you to buy bad quality items in place of what you wanted.

Save your time and stress and go to reputable store. Never again.

Don’t waste your time unless you have…

Don’t waste your time unless you have an Irish registered debit or credit card.
Would have been good to know this before the money left my account, seems there was no problem with authorising the transaction but then left me needing to call and now wait for the funds to be returned. Disappointing.

laptopsdirect is a UK operation

Laptopsdirect.ie is a front for laptopsdirect.co.uk. But they do not take Ireland seriously.

1. The goods were as described when they did arrive.
2. They appeared to have them in stock but did not ship for some time after order...meaning they were not in stock. Then the fun starts.
3. They used a courier names city express and the tracking of the package 'disappeared' in Belfast. I gave it a week from there.
4. When I chased both city express "its out today" and LD they had no idea where the package was.
5. 3 days later DPD couriers...very reputable couriers in Ireland....actually showed up with the package.
6. I believe that I would have given 4 stars if LPD used DPD end to end with clear tracking and 5 stars if the bloody thing shipped within 2 or 3 days of order. But not knowing where your package is for 10 days is not good enough nowadays and that is why LPD get 3* and would have gotten 2* had a staffer not followed up a few days after delivery and they had no idea it was delivered by the neither.

The learnings here are USE A PROPER COURIER WITH PROPER TRACKING FOR IRISH CUSTOMERS and make sure you put the eircode and the Irish contact number on the package label in +353nn format.

Claims to be an Irish website but does not deduct VAT at source. Went through the whole process before discovering that fact - it was only that I checked it out on their webchat before buying otherwise I would have been ripped. What a dishonest way to try get around the Brexit fault.

Absolutely Terrible Service.

Ordered a laptop, was dead on arrival, these things happen.

It's what happened after is where it all fell to pieces.

1. Courier was never booked to pick up laptop, 2 weeks later it was picked up.
2. Weeks later, hear nothing from them. Begin contacting them about it, keep saying to wait 6 weeks for them to receive it.
3. Wait those 6 weeks, they tell me to wait another 2 weeks. They won't refund or send new laptop whole time.
4. I eventually had to call courier and figure out where it was... It was delivered to them 2 days after it was picked up and had been sitting in their warehouse that whole time.
5. Finally a manager will talk to me about it, after I found out it was in their warehouse... All very apologetic, got refund, didn't refund me the cost of delivery for original laptop.

Prices are grand, but if something is wrong, it's a absolute nightmare. I would avoid them if you have the option.

Ordered a video door bell and it's…

Ordered a video door bell and it's faulty, won't as much as turn on and they are only offering a refund of £15 or a £25 voucher when I spent just €50. It is not the first time I have bought from them but it will be my last.
Up date: they agreed to take it back and send a new one straight away but now saying I have to wait till they receive it and exam it which can take up to 15 days, this is honestly the worst company I have ever dealt with.

Misleading, Inconsistent and Infuriating...

Very poorly designed and misleading website, it claims on a few of the pages that they offer next day delivery but this is only for addresses within the UK despite the Irish domain. The actual estimated delivery time for Ireland is 5 business days. After placing an order for components last Friday (09/07), I received an email claiming that I would have my items on or before the following Friday (16/07) as promised at the point of sale as I had paid for the Express Shipping.
I then received an email on Monday (12/07) evening saying that two of the components were out of stock for at least another 8 days after which it would take a further 6-14 working days to deliver, depending on which of the customer service agents responding to my email you listen to. Every email that I replied to was responded to by a different agent, I have spoken to 6 agents thus far. The first agent informed me that they had a delay in delivery due to a delayed shipment and that my new dispatch date was the Tuesday (20/07) after my original delivery date (16/07). I responded to this requesting more details about which items were delayed and when I could expect them. The second agent told me which of the items were delayed and when they were to be delivered to them but was ambiguous about the delivery date to me. They offered me a split delivery of the parts that were in stock now and then the others at a later date.
I replied to this requesting information about my new delivery date to which another new agent responded that "We allow 2 working days for the item to be booked in and prepared for dispatch. For Ireland deliveries, it usually takes 6 to 10 business days from the dispatch date." This is despite the fact that it claims on their website that orders such as mine should arrive within 5 days.
I responded to this by requesting that they split the order, as originally offered, and cancel the two items that were out of stock. ANOTHER agent responded to this claiming that they had looked into my order and misled me by stating that they "can confirm your delivery is due to take place on 20/07/2021 that is all of the items in your order" and asked if I would still consider cancelling it.
I responded once again saying that, although this was a few days after the originally promised delivery date that I would accept a delivery then. I received a response from YET ANOTHER agent claiming that this delivery date was not guaranteed despite the fact that the previous agent had said exactly that.
I responded again requesting clarity about the previous two agents' contradictory claims and when the approximate delivery date would be. To this I received an email from, you guessed it, yet another agent, that claimed that the items that were originally out of stock would be in stock this Friday (16/07).
I have since requested a refund for these two items and a separate delivery for the remaining items in my order but I have received no response as of yet.

The worst store I ever purchased from

The worst store I ever purchased from.
Bought a laptop and it arrived damaged.
I calling to laptopsdirect almost everyday and have booked many collections and nobody showed up. I'm waiting for two weeks for the collection. Loosing too much time. Need the laptop for work. I'll have to buy another computer from a different store before getting my money back with laptopsdirect. This is a shame. Never buying with this company again.

I bought a graphic card on 31-01-2021…

I bought a graphic card on 31-01-2021 ord.40952291. Card was available in few shops at that stage but decided to go ahead with Laptops Direct. I was waiting patiently for 4 months while shop was holding my money until they contacted me to tell me that they wont be able to get a product ( it was available when i bought it ). I should buy it somewhere else at that stage. Send same message to customer service but no replay.

Stay away

Stay away. 520 Euro hard drive packed in bubble wrap in envelope, foil was half damaged and had to be hit multiple times it looked like a wet rag on delivery. Two phone calls from laptopsdirect.ie/ and a woman trying to sell something, plus some unwanted advertising emails. I do not recommend.

False information

I used Laptops Direct to sell my misses laptops, it was saying on their website until 7 years old, the laptop is pretty well looked after, no signs on the keyboard, trackpad and screen marks. After one week they received, I called them and they couldn`t find the laptop, I complained about and received an e-mail saying that the laptop has marks on the keyboard, trackpad and around the screen and it should be less then 3 years old, not 7 as their website says. Because of that the evaluation went from £290.00 to £65.05. So I feel like cheeted by the company`s lack of clarity in theyr business with the customer.
