The only reason I am giving them 1 star is that the site would not allow me to give a 0 rating. Plain and simple they are rude in the front office, whoever answers your phone and deals with customer service needs a little in business etiquette.
To attempt to speak to them regarding an ongoing issue with snow removal and get no response or worse an inappropriate response. To be awakened at all hours of the night by their plows ( not even my property), the truck lights and headlights, filling my home, is disturbing and unsettling. To have someone respond to my neighbor when they attempted to complain, we have a permit and there is nothing you can do about it, is just plain rude.
I understand that they have a limited number of hours to get what they need to be done; however, Myself, family, neighbors need my sleep. I chose the area in which I live because it is quiet, well at least it was.

DO NOT HIRE LAWN DOCTOR!

If you hire Lawn Doctor, here is what you will experience:
- After you're sold service, you will not be able to contact anyone at Lawn Doctor.
- They won't tell you what date and time they are coming, so if you have a locked backyard, good luck!
- The techs have no idea what they are doing and will destroy your property.
- You will get billed for services you didn't ask for.
- The Lawn Doctor "guarantee" on their website is 100% FAKE.

I had Lawn Doctor come to my home for seeding service this fall (2021) and during my initial phone call with Steve, I detailed my issues and concerns that I wanted to address with the tech during their visit. When they arrived, they started seeding my front yard before I could get out of the front door. I told the "lead" that I requested not to seed the front and he said "well he already started so you have to pay for it."

I then proceeded to show the "lead" my backyard and concerns I wanted them to help solve. He assured me all would be taken care of!

They completely destroyed my lawn and made it unusable.

They took a power seeding machine to my lawn, which was way too wet and has exposed wiring from the original sod. The machine grabbed on to that wiring and ripped up all sod that was attached to the ground. They said it would take about 2 weeks for the lawn to repair, so I waited 2 weeks and there was no change.

I attempted to contact Steve 3-4 times with no response and then was shocked to see a Lawn Doctor truck show up at my house and start treating my front lawn. I informed the "lead" what had occurred and he viewed my backyard and agreed that it was destroyed. He said that they would perform a free seeding in the Spring and I would be contacted by Steve to confirm.

I have not been able to get a response from Steve or the Lawn Doctor corporate office despite 10+ attempts by phone and email.

I am filing a chargeback with my bank, a BBB complaint and a complaint with the Attorney General of North Carolina. Lawn Doctor has a "100% guarantee if not satisfied" which is clearly a scam.

I have had nothing but great experiences with my technicians.

For 20 years I battled trying to create a healthy, attractive lawn. In just two seasons Lawn Doctor changed everything. My lawn is beautiful and healthy. Great customer service and advice. Yearly payment plan is a great cost saver. I highly recommend the Lawn Doctor. Ed Kurtz

application didn't take... horrible customer service - makes promises they don't fulfill... they have a guarantee to refund if not satisfied yet they don't...

This is the most dishonest business. I happened to be at home and watched as the attendant literally spent five minutes on my lawn. I asked them to call me before coming to my house and they never did. I lodged a complaint and they kept promising someone would call. No one ever called.

First of all, I was explained more than once about the installment payments by that confrontational-rude man because my phone calls to the office. I called not because only the payment, I inquired about:
1) “When are you guys coming” after 6 weeks of not showing up and taking money from my account. I was told my first treatment will be in the beginning of March.
2) After calling again, the confrontational-rude man told me that they were backed up and they can in April (after 2 payments).
3) I called once again because I was scheduled for a power seeding and a nice gentleman told me to have the sprinklers turned on a week prior. I was told the 2nd treatment had to be done before the seeding which was scheduled for the end of May. I was also paying for that separately from the payments (I made this arrangement with a nice gentleman; he might have been the owner).
4) They didn’t come the week before the seeding and as “the customer” I called. The confrontational-rude man again disputed what I said and confronted me. Because he didn’t schedule me for the treatment, he didn’t care and went against the nice gentlemen and scheduled everything for the same day.
5) I called again to pay the approx. $280.00 for seeding only (as arrangement with the nice gentleman), the confrontational-rude man confronted me again saying “No I was wrong again, the payment is monthly”. I tried to explain, he didn’t believe so I hung up. He must had talked to the nice man, so the confrontational-rude man called back and said he wrong and took my payment.
6) After the worker came (approx.) the beginning of July, he only did the front yard. When I called the confrontational-rude man told him to came back, his ticket only said to do the front.
Yes, I canceled my credit card they had on file because I, as the customer, had to deal with that confrontational-rude, DISHONEST man at all times (he’s not telling the whole story) and I shouldn’t have had to. And I just got tired of it, I pay all my bills at “all times”. But this was ridiculous, nobody should have had to go through that. If I have to go to court for his behavior than I will, again he needs to be honest with his boss (with himself). I just want this Lawn Doctor to leave me and my property alone. I’ll call a different, more professional/nice lawn care company next year. The nice gentleman at the company should had handled the phones. Why is there so many complaints on BBB about this particular Lawn Doctor?

I have been using Lawn Doctor of Colorado Springs, CO lawn care services for several months .

The results on my weed infested lawn and grassy areas have been dramatically transformed!

They got rid of them Dandelions, Bind Weed and Spurge leaving a very nice green lawn!

Simply outstanding service! I highly recommend this company and their lawn care products. I am fully satisfied and their customer service has been stellar!

I had a bad experience with Lawn Doctor (Montgomery County, Md). I started with them because an ad stated 50% off first treatment, but when service started I prepaid the full year of treatments. After realizing this I notified them and they said they could send a refund or put credit on account, I erroneously said put on account. After 3 treatments I was not satisfied with services and requested to stop and have all amounts prepaid refunded. They refunded my remaining 3 treatments but not the 50% off the first treatment, later saying the 50% off is for last treatment, not at all what there ad states!! Needless to say the total satisfaction guarantee was also ignored, where full satisfaction is guaranteed, nope, they said that is up to local franchise…. STAY AWAY, they do not live up to their advertising!!

Total disgrace. Came in and destroyed my rear yard. Damaged my front walkway. The owner said what they did to my back yard was normal. I had to pay someone else to rip up my yard and reseed it completely after they turned a good green lawn into a mud pit. Do not use them.

Signed up for Lawn Doctor with a brand new perfect yard. The day after the first treatment brown spots appeared in our yard. They assured it was totally normal. Two days after the second treatment our grass turned completely brown and getting dirt spots

I was so happy with Lawn Doctor when I lived in NJ. Their power seeding is great because they have power seeding which pushes seed into the ground. I used them for residential and commercial sites.
I moved to Ulster County NY last year and had them power seed. Andy, the manager has poor customer service skills. He indicated that he would come out prior to seeding and never did this. I had removed shrubs from our property line and the area had fresh dirt for seeding yet they seeded about 1 1/2 feet inside the property line. When I complained, Andy blamed it on me that I didn't tell them that our property line was on an angle (there were survey markers). He said that they were done seeding in our area so couldn't return to finish the job. I cancelled my service and spoke to the owner who said that I should talk to him this fall about seeding the area that was missed.
When I called to schedule this, in addition to seeding an area of the lawn that was damaged during installation of a front walk, I left two messages for the owner that were not returned. I then called Andy to schedule the service. He indicated that my account said that I kicked them off of my property and told them never to come back (he obviously made this up because he didn't want to deal with the issue). When I indicated that that wasn't accurate he said that he had too much work and was behind due to the weather and would not seed my property.
TruGreen (Albany) has been fertilizing my lawn this year and has been great.

Using lawn doctor service for 2 yrs. but zero improvement . Very frustrating. My lawn looks like scraped off grass, patch of completely brown grass lumps and no change from what it was before. Maybe got even worse. Sad but I wanted to share my honest opinion. Maybe I was not lucky with their service.

My first few services were great, a nice green, thicker lawn. The last service when they applied weed control to my Bahia lawn was a different story. The entire lawn has thinned and died. The follow up on this problem is another concern. Someone came out 1 time and claimed it was my lawn mower blades ( I use a professional company). Since, I have sent many unanswered emails, texts, phone calls with no response. Happy to provide before and after pictures..

Recently became a customer. Glad I made the move based on a neighbor's recommend. Excellent customer service, shared concern on having a great lawn and excellent follow-through on what they promise. Thank you!

I have totally satisfied with their services! My lawn was in horrible condition {not something I did} but from another paying service! Within weeks not did I notice a huge difference in my lawn so did my family and neighbors!
Whenever I have any questions or concerns I get a response in a timely manner! My daughter and her husband are using them as well! I highly recommend them! I take pride in my lawn and they have truly made a difference!

So sorry I have nothing positive to say about the service I received from Lawn Doctor from the rude front desk receptionist to the chemicals applied on my yard. After three visits from lawn doctor, I noticed that my roses, which had flourished and produced beautiful roses from early spring to late fall for the past four years now had no blooms and appeared to be in a state of shock. Service man said this was due to Japanese beetles which was a missed diagnosis since there are no Japanese beetles in my yard. The roses in the backyard, which thank goodness they did not service, still have blooms on them. My tree in the front yard is shedding leaves. I have been raking leaves since early July. My grass, according to the service man, is not dead but dormant and would have to be reseeded in the fall, which I'm sure was his way of explaining away the damage his chemicals caused. There is also a new breed of weeds in my yard I've not seen before since having this lawn service. Bottom line everything have been choked out except the weeds and they have multiplied. The service man said he came to look at the yard and rang my bell. No appointment was made to be sure someone would be home and there was no evidence of his visit. What a waste of money and a disappointment that the trucks with the Big Green Thumb on the side is such a deception.

The Lawn Doctor Pro's from Rainbow City Alabama solved a problem that has annoyed us for 9 years. Our back yard had a lot of bare spots that other lawn service companies blamed on shade or lack of water (we have a functioning sprinkler system). Finally Lawn Doctor came, took photos to diagnose the problem and solved it by merely fertilizing and filling in the bare areas with sod. We are more than pleased with the excellent service they provided.
