The compleat artisan
This was our third purchase over about 12 years or so. First, a satchel, then a tote bag and now a briefcase. All were perfect purchasing experiences and perfect products which are so obviously made with masterly skill and precise care. The original satchel from years ago still looks like it just came out of the linen bag it arrived in. My wife uses the tote bag to carry fruit and veg from the grocers and she gets asked every-time about it by other shoppers curious to know whence it came: quite a story as we live in regional Queensland,
Australia.
The difference between customer service and customer care is that when something goes wrong the seller makes it up somehow either by repair, replacement or refund and that is good customer service. However, immaculate customer care occurs when nothing goes wrong in the first place; enter The Leather Satchel Co.

Amazing customer care from the start to finish. I just received my purchase from The Leather Satchel Co. and I could not have been more pleased. I ordered the small portrait backpack. Not long after placing my order the owner reached out double checking all the specifics on my order. The bags are hand made from start to finish just for you. There's no outsourcing here. The finished product was beautifully custom crafted and guaranteed to last. I'm so happy with the finished product and I would highly recommend them.

We’ve always believed it starts with the small things. Price things fairly. Build them to last. Do what’s right even when no one’s watching. And above all… the universal golden rule: treat people how we’d want to be treated ourselves.
That’s it, really. No grand strategy. Just care, repeated. Over and over and over.
A brilliant company
I have had a few items from The Leather Satchel Company over the years and recently adopted a bag during a workshop clearance sale. As always, the delivery was excellent but when I opened my parcel a different bag had stowed away, not the one I’d ordered!
Contacted them and it was instantly sorted out without any trouble, the correct bag dispatched the same day and nothing was too much bother.
They really are a wonderful company, excellent handmade products that you can customise to get your dream bag, brilliant customer service and they truly care about everything they do.
The Leather Satchel Co are the perfect example of why we should support independent, British businesses over mass production in every way.
And yes, the other bag did come to live with me, I couldn’t resist!

Outstanding quality, craftsmanship, and customisation level
I'm getting to the age and position where rocking up to a meeting with a backpack is going to set a poor tone. I've decided to go with a briefcase satchel and looked here for inspiration after seeing Keith's and the LSC's work elsewhere while out and about.
As I'm undecided on colours and designs, I ordered some swatches - that can be used as key rings - in 20 different colours.
In the meantime, I bought a Traveller's Set comprising a passport holder and luggage tag in a nice presentation package. I specified four different leather colours in total, as well as personalised initials. I could not be happier with the quality of materials, workmanship, and customer service.
I look forward to engaging very shortly on designing a custom satchel briefcase.

12 inch leather satchel
I had bought their bags for family before, but decided to gift one of these gorgeous bags to myself.
I contacted them about the sizes & specifics of the bag I was looking to order. A pleasant gentleman called Keith responded to all my queries patiently to help me decide what would suit me best. The online ordering process was smooth. I received an e-mail from them to confirm the monogram I had requested as their QC had picked up a discrepancy. They reassured me the corrections would be made exactly as I wanted. My bag arrived a few days later and what a stunning piece it is 😍 A beautiful, handmade product made in England.

Brilliant
I cannot say enough good things about my experience. I bought a satchel backpack in summer 2023, and in April 2025 I noticed one of the rivets holding the strap on was showing signs of wear (due to how much I use it!), and got in touch to ask if it could be repaired. The bag was returned to me within a week and not only was my original issue fixed but they made several upgrades without me even asking for them, in order to help the rucksack last even longer. All of this was at no extra charge. The rucksack was worth the money I paid to start with but the aftercare makes it all even better value for money. I'll definitely buy from them again.
