The quality of the bikes is ok but…

The quality of the bikes is ok but there were a few production faults and you have to handle this via mail and tickets and a service partner with over 100km away. So it takes a lot of time. There is no service hotline or direct contacts and you have to advance the money for the fixing.

we heard you! We're currently looking for a partner in Australia. For our European customers we will launch a partnership with Tracefy.

In a few days we will make this available during the shopping flow. With the Tracefy PRO you can always see the location of your e-bike in real time. This tracker is invisibly connected to the power supply of the e-bike. You can also view your rides and get a notification on your phone when your bike starts moving.

In case of theft, you can report it in the Tracefy PRO app. Our detection partner will then take immediate action to find your beloved e-bike.

When there is an update regarding any GPS tracking partnership for the Australian market we'll make sure to report back shortly.

Exemplary customer service.
I had an issue with my bike and we tried to fix it by replacing a bolt but that didn’t seem to solve the issue so I was sent another larger part to have replaced. I haven’t been able to get the bike to a mechanic to undertake the replacement of the part as yet so I’m not sure how successful it will be but organising the replacement part was simple and stress free and the part arrived very quickly.

What a beautiful bicycle…
It was so exciting unboxing my Lekker Jordaan Urban 8sp bike. Putting it together was straightforward. The instructions are great and it comes with everything you need to set it up. The bike is so comfortable to ride with the high handlebars. I love sitting in an upright position. I’m really tall and the bike is perfectly sized for me. I love the baskets, the colour and the whole look of it. Getting up hills is a breeze with the electric pedal assistance. Can’t fault it. Just a beautiful bike which I can highly recommend.

Meine Erfahrung mit Lekker Bikes
Schon beim allerersten Lieferung von den bestellten Amsterdam GTS, gab es Probleme: Es kam defekt bei mir an und musste zurück nach Amsterdam geschickt werden. Zwar hat Lekker die Kosten übernommen, aber es hinterließ ein ungutes Gefühl, da man bei einem neuen Fahrrad eigentlich keine solchen Startprobleme erwartet.

Im April hatte ich dann einen Sturz, bei dem die Gabel gebrochen und das Frontlicht abgefallen ist. Ich habe den Hersteller darauf hingewiesen, dass ein Bruch der Gabel bei einem seitlichen Sturz äußerst ungewöhnlich ist – für mich ein sicherheitsrelevanter Punkt. Dies wurde jedoch abgetan, als sei es normal.

Auf Anraten von Lekker habe ich anschließend mehrere Fahrradwerkstätten bzw. Händler in meiner Umgebung aufgesucht, um die Reparatur dort durchführen zu lassen. Doch alle haben die Annahme abgelehnt. Nachdem ich dies Lekker mitgeteilt hatte, bekam ich die Information, dass es Werkstätten in Hamburg gäbe – für mich 70 bis 80 km entfernt. Alternativ sollte ich das Rad nach Berlin einschicken. Deshalb habe ich das Fahrrad schließlich im Mai per Spedition dorthin gesendet – mit allen Kosten und dem gesamten organisatorischen Aufwand für Verpackung und Versand auf meiner Seite.

Seitdem habe ich mein Fahrrad nicht zurückerhalten. Ersatzteile wie Gabel und Lampe seien schwer verfügbar, wodurch sich die Reparatur über Monate hingezogen hat. Rückmeldungen erhielt ich nur auf Nachfrage, und die Rücksendekosten soll ich selbst tragen. Da es sich um ein Jobrad handelt, zahle ich weiterhin meine Leasingrate, konnte das Fahrrad aber lange nicht nutzen. Besonders enttäuschend finde ich, dass nach so langer Wartezeit vonseiten Lekker nicht einmal ein kleiner, kulanter Vorschlag gemacht wurde, um die lange Ausfallzeit auszugleichen.

Ich bin neugierig und gespannt, ob mein Fahrrad tatsächlich noch im August bei mir ankommen wird.

Mein Fazit: Ein Fahrrad von Lekker lohnt sich nur, wenn man in der Nähe einer Werkstatt wohnt, die diese Räder auch annimmt. Ansonsten hat man im Reparaturfall ein großes Problem. Für mich persönlich kommt deshalb kein weiteres Fahrrad von Lekker infrage.

Besides getting you back on the road, we're also working to improve our service proposition in Germany. They are part of the Jobrad group and will play an important part in improving local service offering.

Maintenance

Thank you for response. I guess having the issue occur within a week of receiving the bike and then 5 further times with a bike that has been barely ridden I did not think this would mean maintenance. Naturally we maintain and service our bikes and cars. I might be old but understand about looking after things. However maintenance on a new product and now having to prove where the fault is. As opposed to support I have never been treated this way and expensive lesson indeed.

We’re sorry to hear that you’ve been left feeling disappointed. We’d like to share some context for clarity.

You first contacted us about gear slippage around six months after receiving your bike. Our team promptly provided troubleshooting steps, as this is most often caused by a minor gear misalignment, which is a routine adjustment that can be corrected quickly, and something every bike requires from time to time. You later confirmed that the adjustment had worked, but that the problem had returned.

At that stage, we explained your options: you were welcome to bring the bike into our Melbourne workshop for a free assessment, or alternatively take it to your local bike shop. If the mechanic found a defect with the gear hub, the repair would be covered under warranty in full. If, however, the issue turned out to be a matter of alignment or usage adjustment, it would fall under regular maintenance — the same way that keeping tyres inflated or a chain lubricated is part of ongoing care. These maintenance tasks are outlined in your manual and, as with any bike, sit outside warranty.

We understand this distinction was frustrating for you, but it is industry-standard and ensures that genuine faults are covered while regular upkeep remains the responsibility of the rider. From our side, our team responded promptly, explained the process clearly, and provided appropriate next steps within both warranty coverage and cycling industry practice.

We absolutely take safety concerns seriously, and we remain ready to assist further if a mechanic’s report indicates a fault with the gear hub. In that case, any repair will of course be carried out under warranty.

Happy for two years, and the enthusiasm is gone now

I bought an Amsterdam GT in February 2023 and used it almost daily for my commute. Super happy for most of it. The shipping and assembly plus customer service was great when I bought it all good. Great riding with some occasional service in the bike shop. All good.
My enthusiasm got hit this year. I was hoping for a bike that will last me few years with low maintenance. However, the warranty ended this spring and first I needed to replace the engine completely, then the Enviolo hub and then I needed to order a new battery. Incl. bike shop service fee I am almost at the same price as the actual bike did cost. That is really disappointing.

New bike delivered nonfunctional, warranty headaches ahead

Lekker delivered a non functioning bike, we went through the trouble shooting process which ended with Lekker sending a replacement new bike.

Lekker were responsive and professional, they threw in a bike helmet as a gesture of good will.

It was a bit of work to unpack, set up, repack, organise courier, and unpack and set up a new bike - but the new bike is running well.

Originally a one star review updated to four - largely as a result of their responsive customer service and small token of good will.

Amazing bike

I bought the Jordaan Urban and was doubting a bit on the automatic shifting because I like to bike fast but it is works very smoothly. Also the battery is good and the ratio better than the expected. Overall really happy with the purchase.

Amsterdam GTS -

Rad passt perfekt und fährt sich sehr gut.Sehr schnelle und unkomplizierte Abwicklung und Lieferung des Rades. Das Felgenschloss war allerdings zu hoch montiert und konnte somit nicht schließen. Justage des hinteren Schutzblech war erforderlich, konnte aber beides eigenständig behoben werden. Ab und zu auftretende Geräusche während der Fahrt werde ich beobachten und ggfs. auch selbst beheben.
