Our experience at Midland health

I rarely leave reviews because they can sometimes feel a bit over the top, and I’m not really a reviewer, but after reading some of the recent reviews about Midland Health, I felt it was only fair to share our experience.

We saw Dr Naganna for my autistic son’s bedtime distress, which had become heartbreaking. From the moment we met him, he took the time to really listen, understand my concerns and explain everything clearly. I never once felt rushed.

He didn’t feel like a doctor at all - I genuinely felt like I was talking to a friend throughout. He was brilliant with my son, and as a parent who was incredibly anxious about starting medication, I couldn’t have asked for a better consultation. He carefully talked me through the benefits and potential risks, answered every question I had and completely reassured me. The clinic letter that followed was a true reflection of everything we’d discussed and, although we were paying privately, it never once felt like a money-making exercise. Our appointment ran over, but there were no extra fees, and he even took the time to find the most cost-effective medication before writing the prescription. It’s obvious that supporting autistic children isn’t just his job, it’s something he’s genuinely passionate about.

The clinic itself is beautiful, welcoming and incredibly inclusive. It doesn’t have the cold, clinical feel you often associate with healthcare settings, which made the whole experience so much more comfortable, especially for an autistic child.

I was genuinely surprised to read some of the negative comments about the doctors and admin staff because that simply hasn’t been our experience. My son was loudly vocal stimming as we arrived, touching the glass windows and taking everything in. Nobody batted an eyelid. We were also running late because of traffic, and the admin team handled everything calmly, informed the doctor and checked us in without making us feel flustered or judged. As a parent of a child who is often stared at because of his differences, being met with kindness, patience and understanding meant more than I can put into words.

The admin team are super! Especially Soraya, Holly and Hannah. I’m definitely that mum who likes to understand everything beforehand, so there were plenty of emails and questions. They never once made me feel like a burden. Every question was answered thoroughly, everything was followed up, and I always felt listened to and supported.

The aftercare has been equally impressive. I wasn’t sure how shared care worked, but Hannah even emailed me at 10 pm to reassure me that everything would be processed behind the scenes, and that she would personally follow it up with the doctor. That level of care and dedication is incredibly rare and meant the world to us.

Thank you, Dr Naganna and the entire Midland Health team, for helping us access the support my son needed without having to wait months or years for NHS services. You’ve made such a positive difference to my little boy’s journey, and I will always be incredibly grateful. We’ll be back in six months for his recommended follow-up!

Everyone is entitled to their own experience, and I completely respect that. I would just gently encourage people to remember that there are real people behind the desks, doing their very best to care for others. Constructive feedback is important, but personal comments about individual members of staff can have a real impact. If we can choose one thing to leave behind online, let it be kindness.

Paediatric Cardiology appointment with echocardiogram

Excellent outcome

I have been experiencing vertigo type episodes since January but was not progressing to a diagnosis through the NHS other than being put on high blood pressure tablets. I decided to go privately after being rejected by the company who I had a Private Medical Insurance policy with. After living with a body for 77 years you know when something isn't right!!!!
I booked an MRI scan through Scan.com who were excellent. The results were received within a week & advised that I should make an appointment with Dr Manfredonia. I was able to get an appointment within 2 weeks.
Dr Manfredonia explained the results of my scan in depth and after 6 months I understood why the episodes occured. I now have an exercise plan which hopefully which I am assured will make an improvement. I have every confidence.....thank you for your kind & professional approach.

Went in to show my son to the ENT…

Went in to show my son to the ENT specialist Amit Parmar. The doctor made us feel very comfortable and spent the time required to understand history. He was considerate and explained his diagnosis in layman terms. I Was very happy with the whole experience.

Treatment changed our 8 year olds life!

We took our 8 year old son for a dermatology appointment with Dr Marie-Louise Lovgren for his severe eczema.
She was wonderful with him, really thorough with her diagnosis and questions and came up with a plan of treatment that gave us hope.
His new creams and the advice we put into action have completely changed his and our lives! He is now a different boy and is out of pain and sleeping!
We are so pleased and would highly recommend.

No medical supplies!! Stay away!

My appointment was for consult and treatment for migraines. Initially the cologne/perfume that one or all 3 receptionists were wearing was incredibly ridiculously overpowering. How is this even permitted in a healthcare setting? Then forced to walk up stairs, after being pointed to the double doors. The doctor was pleasant and dimmed the lights. Not sure why a doctor trained in migraine treatment felt the room should be so bright to begin with. Should have been another indication that this clinic was most definitely not trained in the treatment of migraines. But anyways, just the start of the inadequate medical care. Came time for the injections. The doctor discovered there were zero medical supplies in the room. No time to panic, surely it’s just that the supplies weren’t restocked in this particular room. The doctor calls for a “nurse” (I use this term loosely). After several minutes someone answers the doctor’s call, as she asks for the supplies. A “nurse” arrives to the room, which is in fact a treatment room, based on the exam bed/table in the room. The “nurse” asks what supplies are needed. Another red flag, the “nurse” has no idea what is required for injections? The doctor replies, “everything, there’s nothing in this room. Syringes and saline.” The “nurse” exits the room and after several minutes returns with rather large syringes and a pouch of some sort of solution. (Insulin syringes and sterile saline are required without fail) The doctor says, “I can’t use those big syringes and I can’t inject that into a patient, it must be sterile saline.” At this moment I knew this was an absolute clown show, with utterly no semblance of quality medical care whatsoever. Ultimately I could NOT receive medical care at this clinic. As the doctor could NOT find syringes nor could anyone else! Poor quality of care! Shameful! I would rate this clinic as some back alley clinic, found in a 3rd world country. It truly deserves zero stars, unfortunately I am forced to choose a star selection. Please head my warning!! If you value your life, your loved one’s life, stay away from this clinic.

UPDATE: you can double talk all you want. But the mere fact that the doctor agreed with me on the strong cologne. The doctor said, “I’ve complained about it numerous times and it hasn’t done any good. Maybe if you address it with them, they’ll listen to you.” So what’s up with that? Is it some culture thing? Wearing that strong scent, like a house of pleasure. And don’t go saying how it’s a highly maintained clinic. Y’all didn’t even have one syringe in there. Yes, the doctor knew as well as I did, that a non-sterile solution is to NOT be injected into a patient! The important question is, WHY DIDN’T THE “NURSE” KNOW??? I’ve since read reviews on this clinic. People don’t be scammed by this clinic. Don’t just walk away, run from here!!

We are disappointed to read your account, particularly as it does not reflect the experience of the overwhelming majority of patients who attend our clinic each day. On the day of your appointment, a significant number of patients were seen across our services, and no other concerns were raised regarding fragrances within the clinic. We appreciate that sensitivities to scents vary greatly from person to person, and whilst individual preferences differ, we are not aware of any issue that affected other patients attending that day.

Regarding the clinical environment, appropriate lighting is an essential requirement for safe medical practice. Procedures such as injections and minor surgical treatments must be performed under adequate lighting to ensure patient safety and clinical accuracy. It would not be appropriate or safe for clinicians to perform procedures in a dimly lit room. However, we understand that patients experiencing migraines can be sensitive to light, which is why our clinician made adjustments where possible to improve your comfort during the consultation.

We must also address the suggestion that our clinic is somehow unqualified or unsafe. This is simply not the case. Our clinicians are fully qualified medical professionals who perform a wide range of procedures safely every day. We have built our reputation on delivering high-quality care, which is reflected in the many positive reviews and repeat patients who choose our services.

As with any busy medical facility, there can occasionally be delays in obtaining specific equipment or supplies from another treatment area. However, our clinicians will never proceed with a procedure unless they are completely satisfied that the correct equipment and materials are available. In your case, the clinician acted appropriately by ensuring that only the correct supplies would be used. This demonstrates a commitment to patient safety.

We respectfully disagree with the characterisation of our clinic and staff. Our team works hard every day to provide safe, professional, and compassionate care, and we are proud of the service we deliver to thousands of patients each year.

A truly second rate company …

A truly second rate outfit that deserves no stars!!!
Numerous emails over the weekend demanding payment before the appointment went ahead
Money first then second rate service
The 40 minute consultation scheduled for 5
30 went ahead at 6pm but only after phoning them asking what was going on
This was followed by a 13 minute telephone consultation by a doctor who after 13 minutes concluded I needed blood tests despite providing him with the most advanced blood test in the uk.
Perhaps they were looking to make more money from me!
Overall a disgrace and I urge anyone to seek help elsewhere

To clarify, we operate a pre-payment policy for all appointments, and payment reminders are sent to ensure consultations can proceed as scheduled. We appreciate that receiving multiple reminders may have been frustrating.

We also apologise for the delay to your appointment. Unfortunately, an earlier clinic overran, which resulted in the clinician running behind schedule. While we endeavour to keep to appointment times, delays can occasionally occur, and we understand the inconvenience this caused.

With regard to the discussion around blood tests, the results you refer to were not available to the clinician prior to the consultation. As a result, the doctor was unable to review them during the appointment and made recommendations based on the information available at the time.

We take all feedback seriously and have responded to your concerns in full through our formal complaints process. We are pleased that the matter has since been resolved directly with you.

Appalling and dangerous clinic! Cancelled last-minute TWICE on a patient in crisis.

This is the most irresponsible and dangerous clinic I have ever encountered. My wife is currently experiencing an acute psychiatric crisis, severe Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), and distressing physical complications from medication. We booked a face-to-face appointment here seeking urgent professional help.
To our absolute horror, this clinic cancelled her appointment at the very last minute NOT ONCE, BUT TWICE. The first time was for our initial booking, where they emailed us on the VERY MORNING of the appointment, claiming the therapist was unwell. Out of empathy, we completely understood and accepted rescheduling for a week later.
We were patient and accommodating, but the second cancellation happened TODAY. We had already travelled all the way and were standing right at their reception when the receptionist casually informed us that they simply could not get hold of the therapist.
With zero empathy or regard for my wife's visible distress, the receptionist coldly gave us only two options: either take a refund or reschedule for next week again. They treated a severe medical crisis like a minor retail inconvenience, completely dismissing our feelings and ignoring the danger to my wife's health.
This gross administrative incompetence is a severe breach of patient care. Pushing away a vulnerable patient who is actively suffering from panic attacks and physical numbness has caused her severe secondary medical trauma. They have absolutely no empathy, no professional ethics, and zero regard for patient safety.
If you or your loved ones are seeking urgent mental health support, AVOID Midland Health at all costs. They will abandon you when you need help the most. Absolutely appalling.

We fully understand how distressing and disappointing it must have been to experience two appointment cancellations, particularly at such a difficult time when your wife was seeking support.

Unfortunately, the first cancellation was due to clinician illness, and on the second occasion unforeseen circumstances meant that we were unable to proceed with the appointment as planned. While these situations were outside of our control, we acknowledge that this does not lessen the inconvenience and distress caused.

As a gesture of goodwill, a full refund has been provided. We understand that this does not change your experience, but we wanted to ensure that you were not left out of pocket as a result of the cancellations.

Please accept our sincere apologies. We take all patient feedback seriously and will be reviewing the circumstances surrounding your appointments to help us improve our processes and communication going forward.

Attended for a Shingrix vaccine

Attended for a Shingrix vaccine and saw Mrs Louise Bradshaw. Always a great service, fast efficient professional, everyone you have contact with is friendly and Mrs Bradshaw was careful to explain about the vaccine. Note to others though, day one your arm feels fine, day two and three you won't want to be knocking the injection site.

Excellent ADHD assessment and ongoing support

As a busy professional, I have found Midland Health an excellent service for ADHD assessment, diagnosis and treatment initiation . The entire process has been easy and painless and has enabled me to access diagnosis and medication promptly and safely.
I'm grateful to have been allocated to Dr Vaida's caseload: she highly experienced and is friendly, patient, thoughtful and easy to talk to. Online consultations and good a option of appointment days and times also made the process much more convenient.
I've also found the admin team very good, especially Hannah, who is was always incredibly helpful and responsive. After researching a number of options, I am glad I chose Midland Health, and although like all private ADHD providers it involves considerable financial commitment, I feel it has been well worth the money.
