i phone so called customer service, consistent refusal to do what customer requires...
go to my branch (galway) & after many visits finally found 1 woman who would help me...she's now on leave so back to ZERO

Unhelpful service

Unhelpful service, left without access to my account and no assistance provided, instead just being told there is nothing they can do and refused to unlock my account, despite providing all personal details related to my account.

Very positive about the bank

I have now banked with PTSB for about five years and have a very positive experience. When I visit a branch the staff are always very pleasant and helpful. In a world of automation, their technology works. Their app could have touch ID which would be great though works well as it is. Overall I am very pleased with my five years banking with them and hope for another five years and beyond.

The new app is not good

I'm giving one star for to there new app. You can only see a few of your recent transactions and when I clicked on the option to see more transactions it added one more transaction. The only option after that is to filter transactions which requires putting in dates. PTSB the whole point of bringing out a new app is to improve your service which you haven't done with this new app. Disappointing.

Brutal

I have a PTSB account only because we got our mortgage through PTSB. It is honestly the worst bank I've ever dealt with. The app is horrendous, it doesn't work and keeps crashing. Push notifcations don't work and even when you call to change it still doesn't work. I keep getting emails on how easy and efficient the new app is but I don't know where they have got those reviews from. Look at the overall score on trustpilot. Says it all.

Zero customer service

Zero customer service,.the usual experience with this bank. On hold for 20 minutes to make an in-person appointment, turn up to be told they have no record of the appointment and it is my fault for making it over the phone.

Worst People bank ever...

I'm holding the current account with them for one year. They don't even trust the people for any services. After a multiple followups the applications will not have a status results, the behavior and system which they have it unworthy, even after submitting so many documents no applications will take off, it will test your patience. Not sure how others are handling with this bank.

Bank from the 80s

As seen in all others reviews, the app is beyond useless. Login problems/blocked account/slow puch notifications/needing to use a laptop to do anything useful/cannot request up to date e-statements without calling....! The list goes on. With PTSB for 15 years but they are nowhere near the competition and I will be moving to AIB for my mortgage and general banking ASAP. Do not use this bank if you are under the age of 75. I think their only customers are the ageing population who are there for loyalty.

Out dated app

Absolutely scandalous apps that are living back in 2005. Very vague with statements. And then I learn when I tranfered my business account from ulster bank to them they don't even have a dedicated buisness account app. It has to be logged into from a web portal. My buisnesss is 100% mobile... How are these people so far behind when the likes of revolut are completely upping their game.... I won't be banking with tsb for much longer

I am still laughing at the moment 🤦. I opened a business account recently and without even a slight doubt went to the app store to download the business account app...and guess what!?!? PTSB in 21 century doesn't have a business mobile app🤦🤦🤦!!!
I come from balcanic country that just came out from communism recently...and even that primitive country's banks have all the possible apps.
It is not all...
I have been with PTSB for years now...and still...bank doesn't have an option of providing the single transfer/payment confirmation 🤦🤦🤦
Unbelievable!!!
I can't really believe this is possible in 2024!

I had a Mortgage with Permanent TSB…

I had a Mortgage with Permanent TSB which I acquired in 1999.
It was for 25 years so taking me to mid 2024.
At the start of 2023 they pawned my Mortgage of to Pepper Finnance.
To say I was disgusted and angry would be an understatement.
I had never missed a payment in all my years with Permanent TSB on my mortgage,so when there was very little meat left on the bone they threw me to one side to what I can only call a pack of vultures.
Never offered me a buy out on the remaining 20 months or so of my Mortgage.
Pepper finnance when they got there hands on my Mortgage they started sending me monthly interest increases, I went from 5% to 12% in 10 months.
I'm disgusted also with our finnancial system that can allow this to happen to law abiding citizens.
I would advise people to stay clear of Permanent TSB and Pepper finance if they can!!!!!!

Well sadly this bank is not learning at all. I purchased a new phone and when i install my banking App it tells me that my accaunt is locked and i need to reset my password ( i did not want to but oh well) so i call the number given verified my self and received a temporally password and instructions to reset on my pc. I did so and got the message that my account is locked for 24h for security reasons. I call customer service had to verify my self again for like 2 min and all the agent is telling me that my account is locked for MY security and that i have to wait for 24h. So NEVER change your phone if you need to use internet banking. It is amazing to me how we get treated by this bank, shame on you!

I’ve been with PTSB when they were a bank staffed 10-5 by people & had no charges as long as you maintained a certain amount of money in your account. Bit by bit, they have removed staff from every level of the bank & you spend your time talking to robots & entering security codes. In the last year they have gone from free to looking for €6 a month (€5 of which deductible against card taps - 10c per tap), to within 6 months looking for €8 a month with 50 cards taps now netting you €2.50 so in essence €5.50 - €8 a month. This complete extortion is overseen & granted by the Irish State which owns 75% of this bank. WE own 75% of this bank!! Fraudsters one and all. Blatantly robbing their own population. I don’t care where I go but I’d rather pay a local CU their fees and allow a community to benefit from charges than give another cent yo these Charlatans. To anyone who might take the time to read this… please consider making the effort to move your money. What a horrible institution. Also while I’m on this rant - please try to keep using cash. Every time we tap we feed the monster 👹

Permanent tsb app does NOT work

The new Permanent tsb app is nothing short of disgraceful for a financial institution. Impossible to buy anything on line as the authentication method does not work! I have received push notifications up to 6 hours after attempting to buy something and that's if your lucky to receive a notification at all. Vi will be closing my account and moving full time to AIB

Without doubt the Worst financial…

Without doubt the Worst financial institution in Ireland. My mortgage balance (60k with 2 years remaining)was switched from UB to Ptsb in May last year and since then Ptsb have been absolutely no help whatsoever. We were told we would receive a pack which would contain account number and other details in plenty of time to dovetail the mortgage repayment (23rd of the month) this never happened which resulted in UB getting a payment in May and Ptsb insisting on getting one also which didn't happen due to their inability to send the transfer details in proper time. Since then we have been in arrears for approximately 3 weeks and to say their help has been totally zero,they of course add on interest to the arrears amount so it's no wonder they don't want to help. Their latest solution is to divide the outstanding balance by 12 and this is conditional on signing up a DD which won't be happening. We were fortunate enough to get some funds from a family member to pay off the arrears and ad of today have 17 months remaining having repaid this mortgage since 2002. The one good thing that has come out if this is that one of my siblings who had been approved for a Mortgage with Ptsb changed to Boi after I told him how his parents had been treated by Ptsb.
I now intend to tell as many people as possible my story and hopefully put off as many people as possible from ever dealing with this excuse for a bank.

Stay away if your looking a business account

Recently attempted to open a business account with permanent TSB in the Drogheda branch, went in and was told quickest way is online, as it takes weeks to do in at the branch. The tried it online, the online form accepted my application, but then heard nothing, called into the branch again was told then application was cancelled, never got anything to tell me this, they tried to fob me off by saying i needed to make an appointment, eventually someone said they would do it online for me in the branch, The bank employee could not complete the online application as it was not working correctly. Told me to come back next week and they would complete the application in the branch with forms, appointment was postponed, then went in again and they could not complete the application again. Clearly they have no clue how to setup a business account in the Drogheda branch ad the online application does not work, so would advise staying well away from this bank if you want a business account
