I chose Podpoint to install my EV point at home because they claimed they were the faster installer on the market. Whilst doing my research their marketing department bombarded me with courtesy calls to encourage me to buy.
I then paid £927 upfront with the expectation of getting my EV point installed asap. I completed the necessary forms and sent photos to be reviewed. The next day, I had two emails suggesting an installation date, I couldn’t do these dates due to being a teacher so I asked for a different date specifying Fridays. I heard nothing.
10 days later, I called the support centre and was told that the installation emails were an automated mistake and that the photos and necessary forms hadn’t been reviewed yet but they would be in touch soon. 4 days later and still nothing. I call again and this time ask for a refund. There is no apology, no explanation and I’m told it will take 10-15 days for my money to be refunded back to my account! WHAT!! So this company will have kept my money £927 for a month! Nice bit of interest for them for doing absolutely nothing apart from being a complete hassle for me.
Totally unreliable
Had this for just under 2 years. They came and fitted it quickly BUT the biggest problem is that it just isn’t at all reliable. Whether we have it set to charge overnight or instant charge it very rarely charges for the full time we set. We thought we’d be able to set it to charge from midnight to 5am and the car would charge ready for the morning commute but we are now too wary to do this because of the number of times it just disconnects from the broadband. Even today we have had our cars charging all day and have had to keep going and resetting the pod point because the switch keeps tripping. Have contacted the company but they are adamant there is nothing wrong with it and the problem is our internet. We have even upgraded our internet but the pod point still keeps tripping. We’re actively looking to change to a more reliable provider early next year.
I have a Solo 3 charger and its a 7kw but only gives me 2kw
I have a Solo 3 charger and its a 7kw charger but the output is only 2kw . I have contacted customer services for 3 days in a row and their response was terrible telling me it could take up to 48 hours to resolve. I am still waiting for a call back on how they are going to resolve this. Very, very poor service. Pod Point are happy to take your money but when you have an issue its impossible to speak to anyone that can sort it out.

If I could give zero stars, I would! I strongly advise anyone considering buying a new charger to avoid this company. They do not stand behind their products and refuse to help resolve issues caused by their faulty components. Instead, they try to push you into buying another overpriced solar charger, which will likely break again in three years. Their customer service is terrible and unable to answer even basic questions. Do yourself a favour and choose a different manufacturer.
Shocking
Used PodPoint as they were recommended by Mercedes and had their Solo 3S installed around 2 months ago.
Initial problem was when they installed the charged but it failed to sync with my car and I waited 2.5 weeks for this issue to be solved. Fast forward to today and my home charger is completely dead with the solution being ‘someone will be in touch soon’ but waiting days.
Overall experience is shocking. TRUST ME - STAY AWAY!

If I could give them zero stars I would. I have been waiting for an installation since the 17th June! No reply to my emails, fobbed off when I ring, I finally get a contact who looks like they are progressing my order then get a automatic reply saying they have left with no information as to who I should now contact. What is going on with this company??!! If I wasn't getting an installation free through BMW there is no way I would still be progressing with this.

Brand New Charger Failed
Had a brand new Solo 3 installed on Friday, by Saturday morning it had failed with no power. I rang customer services whose response was terrible telling me it could take up to 48 hours to resolve! After spending over £1000 for the installation I am bitterly disappointed and I've still had no call on how they are going to resolve this. Very, very poor service given that the installation engineer lives 20 minutes from my address! Pod Point are happy to take your hard earned money but support to rectify a problem is shocking. Shameful.

Avoid - recommended by BMW and still not installed after 4 months. No replies to emails, cancelled installation on the day, zero respect for customers time. I am shocked BMW would recommend this company. It has been so stressful dealing with Podpoint.

My charger has been down; absolutely nothing from maintenance. Disgraceful behavior. I don't know what to do to convince them to get here and deal with the problem. My mother, who is not well, lives 100 miles away. Now all the savings I've made have evaporated, and I cannot afford to keep this up. Customer service is non existent charger installed when I got my car will not charge call them run test and say y they will pass to technical team for further tests and that's as far as it gets have emailed CEO hope that works better than the charger avoid like the plague contacting ceo worked technician being sent to see problem all within 3hrs
Pod point is not very good
You can’t get hold of customer service. Chargers are not compatible with intelligent octopus and no plans to do software update to allow this. Constantly trips. They are in effect rubbish. Do not buy.

Don’t use PodPoint at Tesco.
Went to Tesco and used podpoint to charge my car. Only 7kw. Instructions said lights would flash to confirm charging but they didn’t. So tried again. Still no lights but PodPoint had taken two separate £30 from my card. Eventually realised that although slow slow my car was charging. We waited an hour and a half to get only 60 miles! Eventually PodPoint charged me £35.24 which is 58 pence a mile. That’s disgraceful and highway robbery.
Poor product and poor service
My charger intermittently after charging for around half an hour. I’ve rung podpoint three times but I am unable to understand the person answering the phone and they refuse to connect me to the relevant department to sort out the problem
Their online support is difficult to negotiate and when they eventually respond with questions, I cannot answer because it is an email address that cannot be replied to.
I would never recommend this company.

while being a member of pod point, i built up a little bit of credit while i was awaiting installation of my home charger.
I decieded to close down my account, and while the value is not significant, it is still my money ( £12)
After numerous emails with generic repsonses over a 2 month period, i still did not have my refund and all they could tell me is that it has been refunded to the original payment method.. which it hasnt. They cannot even tell me which method that is. I have tried to call but alas, Pod Point do not see it fit to acutally speak to somebody verbally. Avoid at all costs
Avoid Pod Point: A Frustrating and Disorganised Experience
I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for an EV charger installation. Our experience with Pod Point has been exhausting from start to finish.
After ordering the charger and requesting a quote for installation (which required groundwork), we spent weeks sending images and going back and forth with different customer service reps before finally getting approval. Even then, it took far too long to schedule the work.
Pod Point repeatedly failed to meet their own response times, promising callbacks that never happened and asking us to keep our line open with no follow-up. When the groundwork team arrived, they had no clear instructions and carried out the work too far foward.
It then took several more weeks, and countless calls and emails, to get a technician out. During installation, they drilled through our Wi-Fi cable, leaving us without internet until BT could fix it. The external cabling was done to a poor standard, with glue messily left around the render.
Despite agreeing with customer service that the charger should be fitted through the side wall, the technician went through the front wall which is a clear sign of poor internal communication. On top of that, he was missing a necessary part, so the charger couldn’t be used until yet another technician visit weeks later.
After raising all these issues with Pod Point, their only response has been that they “understand our frustrations”, with no real resolution, and continued missed deadlines for follow-ups.
We paid nearly £3,000 and received a stressful, poorly managed experience in return. Save yourself the hassle and go with a more reliable provider.

Do not use! Find other EV charger! Absolutely useless customer service! After just one year of having podpoint, our charger broke last month, reported it, they gave us a date for an engineer to come but nobody turned up. We’ve been asking for explanation- nothing, new appointment not until another month! Absolutely disgusting customer service!!
