Safaridrive organised an excellent 15 day trip for us to Namibia. From the responsive and constructive suggestions on where to visit and stay, to the wonderful mix of campsites and lodge accommodation, their itinerary was just what we were after. The fully equipped Toyota Landcruisers were top notch with everything we needed for comfortable camping. Included was a 4WD and vehicle orientation briefing and drive on pick up and a full debrief on return. Thoughtful touches included a satellite phone, Namibian pre loaded SIM card, maps and a travel App with destinations pre loaded, along with a host of extras in the vehicle. We had a brilliant time and would definitely use them again. Highly recommended!

We have now used Safari Drive to book two incredible trips and can't recommend them highly enough! Previously we travelled to Namibia, driving and roof top tent camping for 3 weeks and the travel experience delivered was truly amazing. Due to the exceptional nature of that trip we booked again with Joanna for a Latin Drive trip in Argentina. We depended quite heavily on Joanna's knowledge and trusted her guidance when planning our journey. Her ability to match our preferred style of travel with the itinerary was valuable and we trusted the schedules, accomodation choices, excursions and activities that were planned.
During our time in Argentina we felt safe and informed by the professionalism of all guides, drivers, hosts and travel company contacts. Our schedule was ideally planned and we never felt rushed or that the pace was too slow. Our hired 4WD was ideal for road conditions, safe and well equipped. We were supplied with picnic equipment to be able to stop on longer drives and enjoy snow capped mountains and wildlife while having coffee with a view... At one point we needed to change plans for 2 nights as I suffered from altitude sickness. This was handled promptly and professionally and the new route provided more wonderful experiences and no disappointments. We felt that everyone involved had exceptional knowledge and took great care to put our travel experience at the forefront.
We plan to book further travel with Safari Drive in the future as we know our expectation for a safe, thorough, authentic and truly extraordinary trip will be fulfilled. We look forward to more surprises and once in a lifetime experiences that we couldn't possibly discover without the travel expertise offered by Safari Drive!

From Joanna, who helped us build it, to the staff on the ground in Botswana and Zimbabwe, their efforts were monumental.

We have just returned from an incredible 2,500km adventure driving from Lusaka in Zambia to Victoria Falls and along the way visiting most of the highlights of Zimbabwe. Along the way we met the most friendly of people, saw the most beautiful landscapes and had close encounters with the abundant wildlife. We had some trepidations before the trip but we needn’t have worried. Zimbabwe is still largely untouched by tourism and with the support of Jo and AJ, Safari Drive made it all possible.

From the early planning of our itinerary to the support we had when we landed, Safari Drive really provided a first class service. The vehicle was really well equipped and had everything we needed. The route planning was excellent and we also had some great stays booked along the way at some of the best bush camps in the national parks.

We have now used Safari Drive twice and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

Safari Drive recently helped my partner and I plan one of our dream holidays; a self drive safari in Namibia, and now we can't wait to get back to Africa for more of the same.

From the get go, they were attentive to our preferences, always on call to answer any questions, and happy to go the extra mile to ensure that our holiday turned out amazingly. And it really did! Their support and planning enabled us to have our adventure with the comfort of an incredibly well thought out vehicle and being able to rely on the team who were on call if we needed anything and for all the question marks that came up along the way. They came up with a brilliant itinerary within our budget and we loved every minute, we just wish we had even more days!

Excellent planning, communication, availability and advice when planning trip. The vehicle in Africa suited all requirements. The representatives on the ground were so helpful and instructive at all the different locations. This is the perfect company for those considering a self drive safari even if they have limited experience of Africa and have never driven alone before in Africa. This style of safari suits both couples and families with a great choice of differing accommodation according to budget and needs.

It’s hard to sum it up in words but everything about this trip surpassed our expectations.
Namibia has stunning and varied landscapes, incredible wildlife and flora, a fascinating history and culture, fantastic places to stay and wonderful welcoming people.
A combination of roof tent camping and lodge accommodation was the perfect balance of adventure and comfort for our family group.
The organisation and support from Joanna, Jens and Xandi was superb and meant that we felt very well prepared and supported throughout our trip.
We absolutely loved travelling around Namibia in Collins (our comfortable, robust and brilliantly equipped Safari Landcruiser) and the self drive option gave us an incredible sense of freedom and adventure but with the knowledge that local back up was in place should we need it.
We would highly recommend Safari Drive who offered such a professional and friendly service and tailored the trip to our particular requirements.

We had such an amazing experience and were truly happy from beginning to end. The small details (tasteful travel case with all documentation, personalised water bottles on arrival), the Landcruiser truck with all the bells and whistles, Jens’ briefing (and regular help with flat tyres, getting stuck in Deadvlei after park closure etc.), the accommodation – and all other countless aspects – made this a truly remarkable journey! We thought long whether we would have changed anything, but we have yet to come up with anything (and probably won’t).

Quite simply, we would never have managed to plan such a trip without Safari Drive. The information pack was so detailed, the briefing comprehensive and the Landcruiser perfectly equipped. Had we been left to our own devices, we doubt that we would have found many of the campsites or lodges.

My wife and I had been wanting to return to Namibia & Botswana after spending a scant couple of weeks there 10 years ago. There was so much that we wanted to revisit as well as new places we wanted to see. Indeed our wish list was so long that self-drive was the only way to do it for us.

Jo at Safari Drive helped us develop the itinerary and was full of good advice as to how to put the route together and where to stay. We had lots of help and support from Safari Drive from the initial enquiry through to pre-departure (maps and briefing pack), to in-country briefing on the Land Cruiser and on the route, to in-country support at all times.

The trip was everything that we hoped it would be - stunning landscapes, amazing animal encounters and so much more. Thanks to Jo and Jens and everyone at Safari Drive.

From the very start, SafariDrive were super helpful in organising our honeymoon in Namibia. They created the perfect trip for us, with the right mix of proper camping and more comfortable lodge accommdation. The itinerary, accommodations and vehicle were perfect for what we wanted and we had a great time on our trip. The LandCruisers they provide are extremely capable offroad vehicles and we had no issues getting anywhere we wanted to go. We had a few punctured tyres along the drive (inevitable in Africa), and SafariDrive gave us lots of support in sourcing a suitable replacement tyre. I would not hesitate to go with SafariDrive again!

Our Namibia self-drive holiday, booked through Safari Drive, was nothing short of incredible. From start to finish, the experience was seamless and exceeded all our expectations. The landscapes, the wildlife, and the warm hospitality of the Namibian people made this trip unforgettable.

One of the highlights was the game viewing. We were fortunate to see a wide variety of animals, including leopards and their adorable cubs. The thrill of spotting these majestic creatures in their natural habitat was an experience we'll never forget.

Jens, our point of contact in Namibia, was outstanding. His expert advice and detailed planning ensured we didn't miss any must-see spots. He provided us with a well-marked map, highlighting the best routes and sights, which made our journey even more enjoyable and stress-free.

A particularly special moment was getting engaged at Onguma. The staff there, along with the team at Safari Drive, went above and beyond to make this occasion truly magical. Their attention to detail and genuine care created a lifetime memory that we will cherish forever.

Just coming back down to earth, after 19 packed days of adventures with our self drive safari tour of this amazing country, organised uniquely for us by Safari Drive. A mixture of lodges and roof tent camping. Elephants, giraffes, lions, rhino, zebras and baboons all on our doorstep. We had a superb experience with Safari Drive. Our trip to Namibia was wonderfully organised by Joanna. She was very helpful adjusting the trip many times according to our needs, and providing a sound advice along the way.
We loved the lodges, and the camping sites. Each place was unique. The car was superbly equipped, and very comfortable. All the information provided (prior to our trip, and the briefing upon arrival) was very helpful in making our trip stress free. Jens, who welcomed us in Namibia was wonderful. The attention to detail in making sure everything was well explained, and we had all the equipment needed was impeccable.
We spent 10 days in Namibia and the whole experience was unforgettable. Our two young children aged 7 and 8 loved the trip so much they never wanted to leave.

Had an incredible self-drive safari holiday in Namibia with Safari Drive. The booking process, the documentation, the briefings, the handover of the vehicle, the vehicle itself, the support when needed, and the campsites and accommodation were all superb. I have no hesitation in recommending them wholeheartedly.

If you want to do a self-drive safari, these are the folks to do it with.

Frankie worked with us to put together an itinerary that included the things we wanted to see, along with some welcome surprises. It boosted our confidence tremendously to be working with someone who had been there and done that, and we were immediately impressed by her focus on making certain we had the kind of adventure we wanted to have - instead of trying to sell us on things we didn't want or need.

The Safari Drive Land Cruiser was the perfect vehicle, and it's immediately obvious that a lot of thought and years of experience have gone into, not just the choice of vehicle, but the way it's prepared and equipped. Everything you need, nothing you don't. Our vehicle was named 'Alberts' (All the Safari Drive Land Cruisers are named after famous explorers) and we quickly came to think of Alberts as our steady and reliable partner in adventure.

The two weeks we spent driving through Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia were the trip of a lifetime, and a lot of the credit for that goes to Safari Drive. It would have been a vastly different experience without them, and should we ever go back (we're already planning to go back) I can say without hesitation that they will be my first call.

Through out the process from deciding how long to stay, where to go and what type of accommodation to use Safari Drive were extremely helpful. Their reviews of places we stayed at were honest and generally accurate; one place had acquired internet and a campsite had improved it's cleanliness, so no down side.
The trip turned out to be better than we anticipated, with lodges and guest houses being excellent and the staff and guides well informed.
The vehicles (we had two between 6 people) were well equipped and up to the task of getting us through deep sand. I would strongly recommend that for Botswana an off-road driving course is taken as the conditions are challenging.
Camping was an interesting experience, with wild animals wandering around the sites (elephants, lions, baboons) but we were well informed by the local staff about how to deal with this (don't walk anywhere after dark).
Game viewing with guides is awesome and well recommended. We learned so much about the wildlife and local culture from the guides. Don't do the Chobe River boat trip if you want a solitary game viewing experience, at one point I counted 20 boats around us. Having said that, seeing crocodiles, cape buffalo, hippos and elephants from the water is not to be missed. The bird life in Botswana was incredible, even for a non-birder.
Botswana as a country to visit cannot be bettered, as at all times we felt welcome and safe, everyone we met was friendly and helpful and the African scenery variable and interesting.
We are planning our return and will use Safari Drive again, having used them 10 years ago in Namibia.
