Great Service, But Application Process Needs Modernization

Brenda Serna was incredibly helpful in answering my questions about the policy and providing timely updates on the status of my Whole Life Insurance application once it reached underwriting. One suggestion for improvement would be to offer an online application and a secure digital submission process. This would help prevent errors from phone transcriptions or handwritten forms and eliminate the need to rely on USPS mail—especially when sending sensitive information like Social Security numbers.

I was very pleased with the experience…

I was very pleased with the experience in trying to get my life insurance policy. Everyone was very knowledgeable & courteous when I had several questions & issues. All my questions were answered. I would definitely recommend to a friend.

Very fair and experienced

The nursing staff who came to take my blood and weigh me were very considerate. SBLI was thorough and fair. It was a very good experience.

UNACCEPTABLE BUSINESS PRACTICES

FUNERAL HOME REPORTED A DEATH ON MAY 6, 2025 AND HAS STILL NOT RECEIVED A CLAIM FORM. WAS TOLD 7 TO 10 DAYS JUST TO RECEIVE A FORM! RIDICULOUS, OTHER INSURANCE COMPANIES EMAIL THE FORM WITHIN HOURS OR HAVE IT ON THEIR WEBSITE. I CAN ONLY IMAGINE HOW LONG ITS GOING TO TAKE TO PROCESS AND PAY.....

Thank you for reaching out. At this time, our ACE online claims platform is available only to individual beneficiaries. As a funeral home, your claim must be processed through our standard channels.

We’ve emailed the required claim forms to you, and paper copies should arrive within the next day or so. If you have any questions or need further assistance with the process, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

John was great to work with. My only issue was the amount of time start to finish seemed quite lengthy.

It was a terrible experience

It was a terrible experience. We starting the process in August of 2024 and it is was only resolved in April of 2025.
