Bought WinZip on 29th April, had followed the instructions to try to activate the software for the whole afternoon and evening, no success, their webchat did not connect, no help. Emailed WinZip on late 29th to explain what happened and my decision that WinZip was not the solution to my PC problem and requested WinZip to arrange refund. WinZip emailed on 2nd May, not replying my request, but continue to post instruction of how to activate the software. I forward my first email re refund, WinZip kept ignoring it, but send me the same email on 3rd May re how to activate the software.

Not what it was. uninstalling crashed my pc while forcing exit of unrelated apps.

Awful company, spamming popups on the desktop and a tedious uninstall process. Do not recommend

Previous review posted to guide people off these scammers. Now just found they have put their app on my Microsoft account (tks to Microsoft for heads up) no doubt trying to grab info. Easily removed the app. Confirms need to be watchful once they have your email ID.

Very bad experience trying to Activate this product on my laptop. Similar product works okay on my desktop but the laptop stays in 21 day trial version and I cannot change this even though a one year subscription has been paid. Emails going back and forth with Winzip for two weeks now but still no resolution to the problem.

I downloaded the app and paid last Feb. I thought it was worthless. Now I have a renewal notice and other is no way to cancel the renewal, or contact the Company.

Bought three copies for our company to use soley for encrypting, and had to reinstall ALL THREE COPIES TWICE IN THE FIRST TWO WEEKS! One copy is failing entirely. This is now officially THEE WORST program I've ever paid for and will NEVER ever use it again. Save your money. Go with 7zip or NanaZip for encryption!

Deceiving practice. When you go to the page they make you believe Winzip is free when in reality it is a very expensive piece of software where you can find easy free alternatives.

Awful, intrusive, adware, never experienced so many crashes and forced retstarts.

Avoid like the plague

DO NOT purchase this. It is full of issues and The customer support team do not help you fix it. If you try to cancel, the links do NOT work. And you can’t even contact them on phone. They just have a cheap little bot that hangs and gives you silly answers.

If you love tech - use something else. Do not use these cowboys. I now have to figure out how TF to cancel a useless product.

Terrible product - DO NOT BUY. Small print says your credit card can NEVER dispute a charge. WinZip makes it very difficult to cancel subscription.

Not interested in Winzip. Keep having to restart my computer because of intrusive Winzip adverts which can't be closed. Just another reason why my next computer will be Apple.

Bought winzip to speed up my computer two years ago. It made my computer useless, wouldn’t boot and just froze on the Lenovo screen. I made inquiries and a support ticket only to get the runaround. I forgot about it til last April when I got charged 49.95 for that crap software. I made a refund request and nothing. Now this April I get a email that they can’t process my payment. You can’t call to complain or talk to a human. All the support is over text or email. Terrible customer service and crap product. I’ve made several attempts to have them help me as I have photos and files I don’t want to lose. I’ve made contact again and we’ll see if I get an answer. I don’t have the original email for my purchase, yet they are trying to charge me so they know what I bought. Stay away from this company. Terrible. If I could give it -5 stars I would.

WINZIP = H_MOR_HO_D IN ONE'S PC
At the start of 2024 I "tried out" Winzip for 3 weeks; used it once and rejected it. WINDOWS, one of the stink-richest firms in the world, have still not stopped harassing me. Now their unasked for ads have taken an insulting tone.
Despite their semi-monopoly compounded by by building in backdoors to their OS so that e.g. the CIA could spy on its users around the world, enough is never enough for them. Once they are on yr computer, you are stuck with them.
Why is Winzip's marketing strategy (like er...hemorrhoids) sadly all too typical of Microsoft? This is a product costing only £10-80 / year.

Yet its omnipresence is not a fair business practice; a form of stalking / bullying; MS flaunt its monopoly.

a) 2.24 I tried out Winzip for the 3-week test period during which I made use of it ONLY ONCE.

B) Since then it has proved -- AFAIK -- impossible to get rid of its presence.
ONE CANNOT GET IT OUT OF ONE'S pc.

FOR EXAMPLE:
1) yesterday (May 25th) 6 out of 32 symbols on my desktop were about -- you guessed it -- Winzip despite the fact that through 'Settings' I 'uninstalled ' Winzip in February. Or thought I had.

2) At least once a week, there is a 'push notification' on my screen which can only be eliminated or moved (sometimes blocking key items on screen) by RESTARTING the system. That is despite changing the specifications re 'Notifications' in 'Settings' on 9th April.
Leafing thru Google, it is clear that many other ppl have felt the same way about Winzip, and they wondered / are still wondering what to do about it.
I guess when I die, Winzip will still be there as an unwanted intruder in our PCs.

Absolute extortion! I downloaded the Winzip System Utilities Suite, to help improve my PC's health in 2015 and at first it seems like a great purchase. But I kept getting regular prompts to renew my subscription, which slipped by me with all my other regular subscription requests. They automatically took my money. Today I realised that their product had changed and some options were no longer included in the suite, so I decided to try to cancel my subscription. No surprise, there is no easy way to do so on their site. I opted to cancel their Payment Permission on my Paypal and took a look at what I'd paid them too. My jaw hit the floor: for a £44.34 subscription, they had taken £192.90 from me in 2023 alone! I requested an overview of my purchases and found they had taken £1040 for a subscription that should have cost £351 over the last 9 years! Thats a deficit of £689!! I have tried raising the matter with Winzip (Corel) but they have no direct contact option, hence I am here raising hell!
