Just to let you know that our ½ ton of boxes arrived safely at our house in Michigan today from the UK.
Nothing damaged.
Both your customs agent in NY and the final delivery people were very helpful and kept us up to date with the process.
Simpsons have moved us from UK to USA (twice 2008 & 2021) and USA to Canary Islands, Spain (2013). Each removal has been damage and stress free.

Great experience. If you want to move your household contents to Europe, then Simpsons is right for you. From first to last they were proactive and reactive. Customer service was excellent. Our contact for the work was John M. who was always available at the end of the phone or by email. Pickup and delivery were on time, and everything was well packed. One item suffered some minor damage and it was satisfactorily resolved with John M.

Highly reccomend Simpsons - we used them for our recent move to Vienna and every member we interacted with at the organisation both in the UK and the delivery team in Austria were professional and 100% reliable. Special mention to John M. (Sales) for guiding us through the process (customs etc) and for always being available to help if needed. Everything arrived without a scratch and on time with no hassle especially given current circumstances of covid and brexit.

Initially, we had thought that we had chosen a great company with friendly people who cared. However, once we had signed things got a lot worse very quickly. Fundamentally, the packers are paid to stuff as much as possible into boxes as quickly as they can. If they have to destroy stuff to make it fit, so be it. Whatever has only emotional value, they are happy to destroy: they rip apart delicate stuff or scribble with permanent marker on wooden furniture (!) and plastic containers because they know that the insurance company will not pay for emotional value and they are too lazy to write their numbers onto something where it causes no damage. In addition, they do not have to unpack - it is a totally different crew at the other end who will always claim that it was not their fault. Lots of things got broken on the way, even solid mirror wardrobe doors, side panels of bookshelves and wardrobes etc. On top, when we were in the middle of the loading, their operations called and said that the volume was 20% higher than they had estimated (they sent around their best estimator for the quote) and that we had to pay immediately (obviously at that point you have no choice but to pay up). Because every packer works on his own room, they had no idea who did some excellent packing (which we had, too!) and who did the shoddy job. They have zero oversight or quality control of the packers. Their incentives just are not aligned with the customer's interest, but only their own. Another example: The inventory list was totally useless, not just because you couldn't read their handwriting, but also because on 80 items they used the same words ("unit parts") independently whether it is bookshelves, wardrobes or any other furniture. The people who label the boxes are not the ones who packed it a day earlier! When you try to re-assemble e.g. wardrobes or bookshelves, cabinets, desks or tables, you have no idea what belongs together because they pack what is convenient for them, not what for you as the customer. Paying them for re-assembly makes just no sense. They also wrap everything with their tape even on things where the tape destroys the surface (e.g. on outside furniture cover which was waterproof before the stuck their tape on it). Again, they just don't care because they are paid to pack and somebody else will unpack, not them. They do not even use blankets or cling film to protect your stuff, just paper sheets and boxes.
In summary: they increase the price when you have no option but to pay up and will cause lots of damage. Don't be fooled by their friendliness at the beginning. You have been warned of what is to come. To be avoided at all cost!

Great service from the start. The quote given wasn't the cheapest and it wasn't the most expensive but what made me decided to go with Simpsons was John Moynes, our coordinator. I liked how much detail he went into when explaining the service and what was to be provided. Great communication throughout. The packers were efficient and really friendly. We had our furniture items shipped from Surrey UK to Geneva.

I had to have my personnel effects shipped from London to Malaysia. I was given the contact of John Moynes of Simpsons International Removals. I was fortunate to have been given that contact. From the time of the first contact up to the time the consignment was received in Malaysia, what I had was a service of excellent standards: It was a case of very prompt response, good advice and guidance on the documents to provide for shipping and Customs clearance and on alternatives and options for making informed decisions, regular update on progress, keeping up to schedules on the dispatch of the consignment, and arrangement of a good Destination Agent for orderly delivery of the goods at the destination, and receipt of the consignment all intact. All in all, it was throughout a completely hassle -free, very professional operation and splendid service.

When I first contacted Simpsons I was impressed by their courteous and professional response. Quotation, packing, collection in UK and delivery in Spain were all expertly handled and, apart from some uncertainty about the exact delivery date, it went according to plan. The move manager was particularly helpful and the packers were very efficient.

Extraordinary service in extraordinary circumstances. Moving abroad comes with a lot of headaches at the best of times, and a global pandemic certainly doesn't make it any easier. So, we were very pleased to had Simpsons recommended to us by a friend. Thanks to John, our move manager, and the great teams in the UK as well as Switzerland everything went as well as it could have gone - and all of this at the most competitive price. 5 stars well deserved.

I recently moved from the UK to Norway and was in touch with several movers. Simpsons stood out, not only because they were the most competetive pricewise, but also for their helpfulness and proffesionalism. I had an excellent dialogue with my move manager John who kept me up to date from start to finish. I'd done most of the packing myself beforehand for which I was given a discount. On the day of the move 5 men and 2 trucks arrived. It was obvious that these guys had done this before and they were all extremely curteous. I didn't have to lift a thing! All irregular shaped/heavy items were wrapped in blankets, plastic and cardboard. If they didn't have a box big enough they just made one! One week later they arrived in Norway and had the trucks unloaded in a matter of minutes! (There was 20 cubic metres and some pretty heavy items) Everything arrived safely and intact. I couldn't be happier with the service provided and would recommend them to anyone thinking of relocating. There's only 5 stars available but I give them 6!
