I would not say it was a ‘great’ experience, I reserve that for special events, however, when my current insurer increased my annual premium by a ridiculous amount I knew it was time to look elsewhere.
Yours was not the cheapest policy that I looked at but all in all with the ‘Brand’ I thought it was the best for me.
Like most online services it was a fairly easy process and soon completed, with the end result that I have the cover that I require going forward.

It was very easy to do on line and also speaking to Nolan the adviser. He answered all my concerns very clearly.

The website was very user friendly. I can access my documents easily.

I liked that I could get through to a customer service agent quickly to discuss the quote I received.
I DON'T like that the the breakdown cover is only 1 call out per year and I couldn't even upgrade to pay for more than 1 call out, this is disappointing considering its the AA. I may look for another insurerer.

Really helpful call room staff who talked me through various options, answered my questions thoroughly just generally very professional - thank you.

Lovely customer service and reasonable deal

I spoke to a professional person who was very helpful after doing an online quote.
On reading the insurance I found the layout very simple to understand.
At the end of the day though, it comes down to price and the AA was not the cheapest but considerably lower than Direct Line (now Aviva) who I had been with for 7 years. This was the first time they would not negotiate- which I thought was put across very badly.

Appauling! I was quite happy with the AA until I moved home. On trying to update my policy online to reflect my new address the web-page reported that it was unable to do so at that time. Over 2 weeks I tried again and again rather than phoning them to make this simple update because phone call policy changes cost a whopping £25 with the AA. In the end I had no option so I phoned and phoned and phoned and eventually my call got answered.

With that I explained that the web page kept rejecting my attemps to change my address but it was only when speaking to an agent was I told that it was because my insurance would be more expensive with having moved to a different postcode!

WHAT'S WRONG WITH HONESTY AND PLAIN ENGLISH? Why couldn't the web page tell me that upfront instead of giving me some obscure message?

THEIR NEW QUOTE WAS WAY MORE THAN DOUBLE WHAT I HAD BEEN PAYING! When I said I'd have to think about that they told me the policy would be cancelled forthwith! So much for customer service and loyalty!

With that I went elsewhere and got a better policy for far, far less money than the AA were quoting. Appalling from what is supposed to be a blue chip organisation. I'll never return to them and I'm now of the firm belief that the AA stands for Absolutely Awful.

Having spoken to the AA about multi car insurance and the difficulty in renewing each year, they have messed up again this year and I can’t even see the second car on our document even though they have sent an email renewal
Not happy

The quote was competitive and much lower than my current insurance renewal and also covered all the same needs and slightly more, which I receive via Moneysupermarket.
