Just returned from South Africa

Just returned from South Africa, tired and expecting a smooth ride home. The driver took 25 minutes to find me at the pick up point despite clear instructions. Then the driver tried to blame me for the fiasco. I was also misled from the website into thinking v cars ( or vezu which they are also known by) are the official airport taxi. They are not. Never use this Mickey Mouse taxi service.

Ik heb hier een auto gekocht, maar mijn ervaring is zeer negatief.

Na de aankoop bleek dat de auto verborgen schade had. Er is een lekkage bij de voorruit die niet vooraf is gemeld. Dit probleem was duidelijk al aanwezig vóór de verkoop. Daarnaast kreeg ik te maken met problemen rondom de garantie; afspraken werden niet nagekomen en ik moest zelf veel moeite doen om überhaupt reactie te krijgen.

De communicatie was erg slecht. Er werd laat of helemaal niet gereageerd op berichten. Bovendien ben ik tijdens een gesprek op een onprofessionele en vernederende manier behandeld door één van de eigenaren. Dat vond ik zeer respectloos en onacceptabel.

Tot slot is mijn reservesleutel kwijtgeraakt terwijl de auto bij het bedrijf stond. De eigenaar weigert verantwoordelijkheid te nemen of de kosten voor een nieuwe sleutel te vergoeden.

Ik raad anderen aan om zeer voorzichtig te zijn en alles schriftelijk vast te leggen voordat zij hier een auto kopen.

We stood underneath a b and m sign waiting for nearly 3 hours (no that isnt a joke) and everytime we asked for a update they said 15 mins again and again then said the driver didnt find us with the sign right above our heads then waited inside a subway because it was cold then they said one had finnaly been dispatched just for no one to show up for another 25 mins then finnaly got a taxi absolute joke this is the 5th time they've messed around with us now for the love of god DONT USE THESE GUYS

Didn’t turn up twice for pre-booked taxis, left elderly parents stuck - do not care. Avoid at all costs

This company has zero empathy, absolutely disgusting and a waste of time. The first occasion, in August, the Bristol branch failed to collect my elderly parents from Bristol Airport in August despite it being pre-booked for weeks and left them waiting hours with them and me chasing. Today, the Bath branch failed to show this morning to take my dad to a nhs radiotherapy appointment that he has been waiting months for - they said nothing was booked when it was and my mother had even called to double check all was ok a few days ago. To make matters worse, they said they would dispatch one straight away after my mum called to chase and it never showed! Luckily they managed to finally get to the appointment one way or another and be still seen (very, very late) it was almost a missed, very important appointment. What is wrong with you people? 100% don’t care - avoid at all costs if you need to go anywhere ever at all at any time. 💩

On 24/11/25 I was at the local Mazda…

On 24/11/25 I was at the local Mazda dealership and needed a taxi. I rang V-Cars, and was treated with friendliness and courtesy on the phone. My taxi arrived quickly and the driver was also very professional and a pleasure to talk to. I happened to leave my umbrella in the taxi and I was phoned by the office to ask whether it was mine and it was returned to me within 10 minutes.

Avoid this company at all costs.

We booked a taxi with V Cars and made it very clear that the pickup time would change slightly due to the clock change that weekend. Despite this, the driver turned up an hour early, never found us (even though we were standing exactly where all taxis are meant to pick up), and then left without completing the booking.

We called repeatedly, were told different things each time — “he’s on his way,” “he’ll be ten minutes,” “he’s there,” then suddenly “he’s had to leave now.” At one point, they even suggested we walk on unsafe roads to a random church so he could meet us there! Completely unprofessional.

They then demanded we pay another £90 for a new taxi, even though their mistake left us stranded. There was no effort to share a live location, no attempt to pin our address, and no proper communication at all.

When I later checked Trustpilot, I saw dozens of reviews describing the same kind of behaviour, drivers arriving too early, leaving, refusing refunds, and blaming the customer.

This company cannot be trusted. I will be pursuing a chargeback with my bank as they failed to provide the service I paid for. Please think twice before booking with V Cars.

Avoid

Pre booked a taxi from Bowood to chippenham following classic ibiza. Was told that they could not do 11.20 but could pick up at 11.10pm. Spoke directly to an operator. On the night I called at 11.15pm as no text to say car had arrived was told that they were trying to get a car to is but would be at least 40 mins. Called again after the 40 mins had elapsed to be told booking had been cancelled as not pre paid. At no point was pre payment requested by the company. Staff during the calls on the evening were unhelpful and rude. I will never use or recommend this company again

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!

Impatient and angry driver. They had the wrong building name. Didn't want to park where asked even though it was directly outside and asked me to walk along the road to meet him. 25 minutes late. Got even angrier when asked for a discount. Office didn't relay correct information.

Avoid for airport transfers

Rarely would I write but to protect others who may be duped, simply put … just avoid … at least for airport transfers. Office dodged quoting & poor driver turned up with a fee expectation of £455.50 for a Bath - Heathrow. Going rate is £160-180. Not the driver’s fault. And would have screwed me for time if was in more of a rush. Can’t ever buy services from an organisation that would trade in such a way. Deleting their app now.

I booked a taxi in advance, to catch an early bus, booked plenty of time for delays. They just did not show up. I called of find out where they were, the person said they could not understand me and hung up, did not answer any more of my calls.

So unprofessional.

Most aggressive taxi man in the world.

I ordered a taxi for 3.30am to get to the airport. He arrives at 3.50am. The driver was aggressive before even getting in when I called to see where he was he said "you give me cash yeah" - I'd already asked if I could pay by card when I booked the cab the night before.

I told the man I wouldn't pay by cash as we didn't have time to stop. He hung up.

He then arrived at 3.50 (20 mins late) and proceeded to ask for cash. I refused and said I'd pay by card to which he interrupted me shouting "YOURE NOT LISTENING TO ME ARE YOU? I WANT CASH."

I told him once again I'd not pay cash, I didn't have it and didn't have time to stop.

He said "YOU DONT UNDERSTAND ME -YOU'RE NOT LISTEN - CASH IS WHAT 'I' WOULD PREFER"

I told him this wasn't my problem as I had a link on a text and Id pay it that way. He continued to shout at me telling me I wasn't listening as I paid my fare though the link Id been sent on text.

As a solo female traveller - I came out the house with three bags and he never helped me once and left me moving things around in HIS boot in order to get my heavy suitcase in. I have a cast on my arm from a broken bone so this added to the frustration.

He was rude, aggressive, unhelpful. Ive submitted a complaint in - not heard anything back form them.

I noticed the driver had a GoPro attached to the front of his car. I REALLY want his boss to see this and I'd like a copy as well as evidence - as drivers like this shouldn't be allowed to try to intimidate female solo travellers to give them cash when card payment has been agreed - esp at 4am in the morning.

Absolutely terrible service - this man needs sacking!!

They don’t turn up when they are booked

Booked a taxi a week before to take us back from a festival late at night in Bristol. It didn’t turn up & each time we phoned up we were told it was on its way. After waiting over half an hour we gave up & flagged down a passing taxi.

Absolutely shocking service

Absolutely shocking service , booked a taxi at 7.20 am as my son was starting a new job and I was too unwell to take him . It kept saying 2 minutes away and then 5 minutes away . I called the driver who was still saying 5 minutes, 7.45 still no taxi !! Thankyou V cars for ruining my son’s 1st day in a new job . I will never use this company again .

Unprofessional

Poor, unprofessional service. After my 11yr olds general anaesthetic Bristol University Dental Hospital ordered a taxi for us. When we eventually arrived home the driver told me 'no card' for the expensive fare. He then phoned an office which demanded more personal details than necessary, claiming we should have paid on the app...which of course we couldn't because the hospital ordered it. Having raided the kids piggy banks for the cash, I told them I felt uncomfortable because it seemed like a scam & that it was unproffessional he didn't have a card reader. He responded with an 'F#!k you'. I should've taken a pic of his plate but I was more concerned about my child. The NHS should not use this service, especially now many poorer people cannot drive in Bristol city centre & just as other small traders do drivers should be obliged to say if they don't take standard payment forms.

If it was possible to put zero stars I would!
I got sick because of them!
There was a prebooked taxi for me after my 13 hrs. shift in the hospital on 1th of January (yesterday). I waited for one hour in front of the main entrance under the rain, asking every stoping by taxi, was it for me? Nobody came and I called a friend to pick me up!
I am super disappointed! NHS has been booking taxis every year for the holidays!
Do better V Cars!!

Awful

Awful - booked for midnight days ahead, arrived at 01:30. Customer agent was horrific (not even sure deserving of that title), absolutely zero compassion or sympathy. Clearly an organization who allows you to book knowing full well they won’t be able to fulfill the request. Would avoid - interestingly when speaking to others they have all had similar if not worse experiences.

So a driver who doesn’t know where he is going. Complains about this to the passenger. Drives all round the houses. Takes 25 minutes rather than 5 to do the journey and then charges you 3 times the normal cost for the privilege as that’s the time/mileage charge even though this is charging the passenger for his failure.

But wait, there’s more. You phone up to and say you want to complain. The person on the phone makes you give all the details, takes your details, looks up the journey details and then ……tells you they can’t deal with complaints and tells you to go to the web site.

But there’s more.

Off to the website you go. As to your complaint they limit what you can say so much you hardly have an opportunity to say what has happened. But after you get it written, prove you are not a robot and hit submit, well nothing. The button goes grey and nothing submits at all.

1 star is too good for this level of service, but certainly reflects their ratings. I could consider this unfair as so many journeys have gone well, but all of this and no way to complain is just unacceptable.
