Part time solicitors that seem it’s ok NOT to keep you updated about the situation., let alone when they leave and fail to let you know what the situation is or who is taking over your case. Clerical staff that ignore you and cannot even be bothered to inform you when questions are asked, let alone when refunds will be paid. They wonder why you become angry. Customer service and communication needs a massive change immediately.

Avoid. I will be using people back South I know, trust and respect.

BHP Law were recommended to me by a friend for a removal from a title deed after a break up. I was informed that paperwork etc… could be completed by myself and a law firm would complete the transfer via the land registry. After having my first appointment with BHP Law and informed of process and cost etc… all was good. This was April/May 2024, I have had maybe two phone calls and three emails from BHP concerning when payments from myself for work carried out will be made. I have made several phone calls and sent several emails regarding the status of my application since last year with no reply, guidance or information in return. I was informed in January 2025 that my application had been submitted and it could take eighteen months due to waiting times with the Land Registry. It has of August 2025 now all been completed and the deeds have been changed. Just left feeling in the dark and uninformed regarding any of the process, I had no information to chase the matter up with the Land Registry… ( no reference numbers, title number ) so therefore could not get and update anywhere for delays or timetable for completion.
I did feel like things were professional and that I would be kept up to date with process in the initial few months of application, but after my bill was paid…. nothing.

We have been clients of BHP and its predecessors Addamson Dodds and Mitchell Dodds since around 1990 when we bought our very first home. The service has never faltered since that day, and over the last 35 years and this experience has been no exception, in fact it has been exceptional.

Jemma and Helen at Darlington are like the International Rescue of conveyancing. When everything seemed to be going VERY wrong for us they talked to us and guided through everything keeping us as up to date and informed as possible.

We engaged BHP Law to represent us in the sale of a shared ownership house. The process started in 2023 and due to a variety of set backs and complications the sale was not completed until today, 19th June! Two years!
