Used BHP law (Gillian M) for a divorce, the experience and help from this company was shocking. The process was difficult and the relationship with my ex was extremely difficult. I was constantly asked to respond to rediciously accusations from my ex and minor or pointless back biting. None of this was required and was similar revenue generation. I asked numerous times for that I should except as a settlement, the question was avoided or not answers until 2 days before the divorce hearing despite having all the information, again revenue generation. Someways through the process we tried mediation, I did a lot of work producing spreadsheets and details relating to the finances, I sent this to Gillian and asked her what figure I should be negotiating at, she returned my work made some very minor alterations and said it isn’t complete so I can’t give you a figure, she then tried to charge me for my work. She also did not explain the consequences of signing a letter for a pension actuary, I made several representations that the information wasn’t correct and she stated she would speak to the actuary once it was submitted to sort out this matter, she did not. She was very good at filling in forms but regarding advice and direction I would very much avoid this firm for anything to do with divorce.

In both cases I always felt I was in extremely expert, knowledgeable and experienced hands, and both Terry and Phil kept me fully informed at every stage. An oversight by the company 11 years…
An oversight by the company 11 years ago is now causing me issues with the sale of my property. I purchased a house freehold, i was lead to believe. Using BHP as my solicitor in the purchase. Now 11 years later, I am possibly going to loose my new future home due to a clerical error they didnt inform me of. As I only found out there is a notice of a lease on my property which they didnt inform me of during the purchase process!!! Now they claim they cant resolve the issue due to records being destroyed after 6 years! and even after I did all the leg work to find the seller after 11 years they say they cannot act due to conflict of interest! avoid this company. They refuse to help.
