This happened in 2007 but I think from the reviews I have read might be relevant today.

I had dealings with this company and they offered a initial free consultation but then charged nearly £300 (equivalent of £500+ today). I decided not to go with this company as they only gave text book advice which i knew already. They however charged me and then took me to court.

At no time did they state that the initial consultation would be nearly £300.

I would advise people to get the costs of using them in writing before any meetings and also be very wary of any free consultations. Also, be clear if you don’t use the company whether they will charge you.

They said they had sent written advice. I did not ask for any written advice and after the initial meeting decided they didn’t know anymore than I knew already so would not be using them.

A company that quotes employment law from the internet is not what I would say is offering advice.

They sent me a court summons, and created more stress as I disagreed with the charges for one consultation (which was meant to be a free initial consultation.

As highlighted else where I agree the focus is money.I should have reported them to the ombudsman but I didn’t realise that this was possible at the time.

Fiona Addison at BHP Tynemouth Branch arranged the conveyancing for our house move. Due to our buyer, the process was not as smooth as it should have been - but Fiona always dealt with everything in a clear, efficient and responsive way. She was also proactive in doing what she could to speed up the process where possible.

Professional service, clear explanation of the topic (wills) and pleasant. Would recommend.
