Looks good to start- but is cheap Chinese rubbish

Have had our Obsidian sauna and cold
Plunge for just under a year. The items to start with look nice but have had multiple issues such as:
-Paint on cold plunge bubbling. Have raised this and they told me to get a quote myself. Pushed back as felt item
Not fit for outside use- they have sent their own tradesmen twice. Still bubbles and last fix tradesmen left spots sanded and not painted.
-As per other review the door drops and scraps the base plate. Got told it was because my ground wasn't level. Put a level on and it was. The doors don't have a good mechanism to lock in place and with time move.
-on multiple panels inside there is still pencil writing in Chinese from the manufacturing.
-external panels have now started falling off and need reapplying

As per other review customer service is terrible. Will take ages to respond- for instance took me following up 4 weeks after initial communication to even get a response. Got told he was busy "working on other business task" whatever that means!

I also paid for install and then had water leaking into sauna- got told I was meant to slicing around the bottom. As per other review I paid for install and figured if installing there was nothing left to do?!

Could go on for a while but would recommend considering other options. The product does look nice to start with but does start falling apart. Have friends with outdoor alpine saunas with much less issues

Extremely Disappointing Experience

Extremely Disappointing Experience – Poor Product Design, Dismissive Customer Service

I purchased a cold plunge and sauna from Everest Plunge, spending thousands on the setup including $700 for installation. At first, I was genuinely happy with the product and expressed that — but unfortunately, that quickly changed.

Within just two months, the chiller motor failed, despite me following the setup instructions exactly as given. The plunge was filled with water, water was circulating through both pipes, and the unit was functioning when I walked away. The damage happened overnight, due to a system that lacks basic protective features like an auto shut-off or alert when water stops circulating — a serious design flaw.

When I raised this, I was blamed for the failure, offered a “discounted repair” of over $550 + GST, and pressured with a time limit. No shared accountability. No genuine interest in resolving the issue. Just defensiveness, threats of legal action, and complete dismissal of my experience.

This wasn’t the first red flag. Weeks earlier, the sauna door dropped due to poor installation and started scraping the base. When I asked for help, I was told to fix it myself — despite paying a premium for professional installation.

This has been stressful, time-wasting, and incredibly disappointing. I’ve since learned other customers have experienced similar issues, and I’ll be pursuing this through Consumer NZ and the Disputes Tribunal.

I would not recommend Everest Plunge to anyone unless you are prepared to be blamed and ignored if something goes wrong.

A good product should be backed by good people — this one isn’t.
