Forth Capital have been a fantastic help to me for a number of years now, over a broad range of financial advice issues, including helping me sort out some investments I’d undertaken with prior advisors.
While an expat in Switzerland my Advisor, Audrey Flynn, helped explain investment vehicles and set me up with something which has performed very well. When selecting funds for some investments, Forth Capital readily offered a selection reflecting my preferences.
Similarly I received excellent, unbiased and un-pressured advice from Audrey on taking the CETV of my U.K. pension, with careful modelling of the various options and clear explanations of the pros and cons of each. When preparing to return to the U.K., Audrey flagged a number of opportunities to me, particularly regarding my Swiss Pension fund which is proving to be extremely valuable!
Not only have I found Audrey’s advice to be very financially astute, with a deep understanding of U.K. and Swiss environments, but also Audrey has been extremely responsive, even through lockdown.
All in all, I’d highly recommend.

Scott Heaney recently became our advisor after some years with Forth Capital and after hearing very little from them for a while he seemed really on to it and interested in us getting the best return for our impending retirement. He wasn't pushy or overbearing, he just seemed genuinely interested in us and how he could help us. We've changed our investment strategy on his advice and look forward to further dealings with him in the future and improving the value of our investment.

Forth Capital set up my QROPS fund in 2013 and it seems to have performed well. Since the transfer to UK I've had a couple of review (Teams) meetings with Scott Heaney. Pleasant and friendly meetings and he went through the profile forms etc. with me in a patient and efficient way.

I was initially overwhelmed by the volume and complexity of the annual review - having to read all that on a computer screen! and deal with the new technology of the signing application! (I suffer from a phobia when faced with anything of this nature); However the Forth staff were very patient and very professional and the whole process turned out to, be very smooth and easy, only upset by erasing(by accident) two important files and they having to resend them. the review was very complete and thorough, the advice sensible and the signing process easy.

I recently made the decision to opt out of my final salary pension and have used services of Forth Capital with Niamh Docherty as our financial advisor.
Opting out was obviously a huge decision, but Niamh has ensured that we were fully informed at all stages of the process from initial meetings via teams.
The transfer has been completed smoothly and my pension is now being invested by Forth capital. We have been kept fully informed during all phases of the transfer. And have been reassured by Niamh professionalism and calm demeanour. We look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with Forth Capital and with Niamh Docherty as our financial advisor.

I hold a QROPS with Forth. The initial transfer of my pensions (in 2014) was well handled and the funds recommended have done well.
However the company has not developed a good post Brexit strategy. They are no longer accredited to provide financial advice within the EU and have instead
partnered with Morningstar (to provide a service to EU based clients) and now insist that clients transfer their investments into a selection of 5 Morningstar funds.

In my case, although I'm happy with the Morningstar funds, I don't want to put all of my assets into Morningstar. As a result Forth will no longer act for me and I will have to find an alternative Financial Advisor.

Forth have provided no assistance in finding a replacement Financial Advisor and have not offered to reimburse any transfer costs.

Postscript: Following Audrey Flynn's reply to my review, we had a telephone conversation in which Audrey explained the background to what has happened. Audrey was able to give me some further options. While these aren't 100% satisfactory they have turned a bad situation into something more bearable. I also appreciate that to a large extent Forth Capital have had to make decisions/responses based on changes in European and Maltese regulations post Brexit. In conclusion, I appreciated the phone call and it has helped me to at least partially resolve the problem I have had.

Jamie Tulip at Forth Capital has been my financial planner for a while now. Recently he has been a great help in working on cash flow options for my pensions. It’s been so helpful to see & use this to plan the future. After I made some poor investment product choices with other financial planners, he’s been a great help to optimize these and find better solutions for the future. Jamie is someone highly committed to his clients, patient, and who offers very honest & clear explanations for potentially complicated financial products

My initial dealing seemed fine. However, due to a regulatory change they attempted to double the fee with zero added benefit. I have now moved advisor and have found out some uncomfortable issues. 1)the qrops scheme was set up in a jurisdiction not best suited to my location. 2) the fund they recommend gave them substantial fees which were NOT explained to me before and left and long term tie-in 3) the fund they recommended could be easily replicated elsewhere with half the cost. This seems very close to mis-selling to me. Be careful, very careful

Forth Capital are very easy to deal with. I have had a retirement savings account with them since 2019. Recently, my fiancee and I dealt with them again to set up a retirement savings account for her and to set up a joint investment account for us both. Jamie Tulip was really pleasant, informative and the advice he gave us was suited to our needs. He clearly listened - which has not been my experience with other financial advisers. No pushy sales pitch or selling us products we never asked for. It's a real pleasure to deal with people who are trustworthy and I would happily recommend Forth Capital to anyone who was looking to sort out their finances while living overseas.
