Still no website

Paid for this website in April this year and still no website. They have put wrong name twice and a letter I sent to them had been put on website which I had to ask them to remove. I am now informed the website is live but I cant get into it nor can my customers. Contacted Freestart who inform me that there is not enough content to go on Google. So have paid for website and app and no one can see anything about my company.I have written to the manager [name] but not had a response from him. Very unhappy will not be using them again.

Worst company I have EVER dealt with. AVOID!!

I have had nothing but trouble since signing up for a website and mobile app from freestart. It started with them misspelling my email address in 2 or 3 different variations which I had to make several phone calls to correct in order to receive information I needed to proceed. Even after I had rang and corrected it they still got it wrong!

During this the customer service was terrible, very rude and I recieved no apologies.

No proof was sent before the website went live, when I went online to check it I found they had used pictures off my Facebook business page (instead of waiting till I had sent them the pics I wanted as I had stated) that were no longer current, the incorrect email address had been used on the contact page and other small mistakes.
I asked them to change these and was told as a gesture of goodwill they would change it but couldn't change anything after this.
This is ridiculous as this was their mistake and surely everyone expects a proof of your website! When signing for it I was told that I would recieve a proof.

I then had to myself delete all the wrong pictures they had put on and upload others. Not sure what I am paying for when I have had to do a lot of it myself, in hindsight I would have been better getting a free template and doing it all myself.

I was asked for 30 keywords to give to them, I did this but these were never put on. I then asked again if this could be done. After frequently checking and months later they still not been used I was contacted asking would I like to pay an extra £118.80 for 3 months of SEO.
I have been contacted twice since then trying to sell me this.
I find it shocking that they can't get back to me over issues that I have paid for and still not recieved but they don't have any trouble trying to get more money out of me.

Just over 5 weeks ago I got one of these phonecalls so I asked them could they finally sort out the keywords, which I have the original email from months ago stating they would put them on.
5 weeks later and I am STILL WAITING.

This is atrocious customer service and I certainly wouldn't recomend them to anyone.

The app I have is rubbish it isn't mobile compatible basically it's just a version of my website.
I was promised off the sales agent who originally came in my shop he would call in a few weeks later with a poster with the barcode so my customers could scan it. Surprise surprise 5 MONTHS LATER I HAVE NOTHING.

Freestart is a complete joke of a company I have no trust in them whatsoever and I would advise anyone to AVOID at all costs!

useless

I do not normally write reviews good or bad, but feel I need to warn people of the total lack of support and communication this company delivers, now over two months of trying to sort things out phones not answered messages not replied too, I filled in their own on line complaint form which they failed to respond too even after I reminded them that the 10 days was up they promised to respond within, I paid a lot of money for a service I have not received.

Very helpful technical staff

I have found the freestart technical staff very helpful supportive and patient, over the many years, I have been their customer. I am not the most assured website owner, having a limited knowledge of code etc, but they have always been most professional and supportive in their help. Stuart Aston, in particular, has always been very helpful and seems to have real expert technical knowledge, able to pinpoint problems and suggest solutions with a limited amount of fuss.

Rubbish!!!

I have a site which is slow because freestart is slow. All it would take is some code to the ht.access folder which I asked them to do I even gave them the code and they quoted me £120 just to insert some code.

Test for yourself how slow freestart is, they own user experience is 59/100
speed is 54/100

Speed test told me for my site to
-Reduce server response time
-Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content
-Enable compression
-Leverage browser caching

Nothing I can do about it as this is all freestarts problem

Hope you are well.

After speaking to Darryl today we are keen to try and resolve the issues you feel you are having.

After running a page speed test on your site we have the average load speed time of between 4 and 7 seconds which is within and below the mean average of 7 seconds normally measured in the industry

We are at the moment moving to a new data centre which we have invested heavily in and will be implementing various infrastructure changes one of them being a new caching system which will speed up the page load considerably. We will keep you informed of the progress of this for you to run another test once the transfer has been complete.

With regards to the .htaccess file - this does not apply to your website based on the infrastructure that we use. If this did apply we would ensure you would not have to pay any funds to implement this into your website if it would increase the speed and we feel the individual that quoted did not understand your needs correctly of which we apologize.

After speaking today we have confirmed that we will continue to keep in touch with you regarding any improvements and would like to offer you a complimentary upgrade to our latest design and mobile friendly sites.

I would just like to say how happy I have been with the service from the Account manager and Support from the technical department. Great Service, Good Value

I have been a Freestart customer ever since I set my business up almost nine years ago. I started with a very basic site and have developed it over the years. My website gets lots of compliments from customers and is a great tool for generating business. Although Freestart have lots of really attractive templates, I chose a customised option. It is really easy to update and looks very professional. Freestart also made me a video to help with rankings and I am very happy with that too. The customer Support Team are great: very friendly and helpful and it's rare that I wait more than a minute or so to get through when I need assistance. When I call in with a question or a problem it is always dealt with quickly and the team really take ownership if there are any issues. The only aspect of my dealings with Freestart that I have been less happy with was SEO. I would however have no qualms about recommending Freestart to anyone wanting a professional, easy to handle website at a very reasonable cost. Just the Customer Support is worth what I pay for my site annually (and more).

Best website builder

I've had my website with Freestart for several years but a few months ago upgraded from the standard site to one which Freestart has designed for me. It has been worth every penny, my orders have at least doubled since my new website went live. The changeover was easy, my old website stayed in placed whilst the new one was being designed and within a few days my beautiful new website was ready with everything from the old website being transferred. Amy at Freestart was brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. What I really love about Freestart is that I can email them with any problems and within minutes they reply with good advice. Freestart are in the UK so it's easy to phone them and they normally sort out any queries within minutes. I also have another website with Freestart for my husband's business and having been with another website company for this business, quickly went back to Freestart, they can't be beaten. I would recommend Freestart to anyone wishing to have a website, indeed I have recommended them several times.

Do You want Fantastic Customer Service !!!!

i have recently signed up with FREESTART for my website for my business 'A Slice of Elegance' cake makers in the Vale of Glamorgan...... Not being very technical with computers I had to call in and admit my ignorance on a simple item regarding the photos on my site. They were fabulous, not only do you actually speak to a real life person, they are so knowledgeable and soooo patient. Nothing was too much trouble, they talked me through step by step how to change and amend things on my website. They even set up Free of Charge a link direct to my Facebook page. I cannot express how wonderful this company is; especially STU who guided me through step by step, he has the patience of a Saint. Well done FREESTART you have the best customer service I have ever experienced.

Stuart save the day

Just spoken to Stuart at Freestart, to help me sort my headings colour, and it was done so quickly. I am not the most IT savvy person, but he made it really easy. He also helped me with 2 other little bits of information that will make a tremendous difference to the web site.

Very Professional & Friendly

From the word go FREESTART have been very friendly and professional with any dealings I have had with them. From Starting up, uploading stock, and sorting out our Facebook store, it honestly feels like i am having a coffee in the same room as the person I am talking to whilst resolving my ecommerce problems.
.... Everything my last web host wasn't and more.

Excellent Service and Value for money.

I started my business 3 years ago and wanted my own website in addition to selling via that well know auction site. I wanted to spend my time developing my product not developing a website and Freestart offered me a solution. I virtually got an 'instant website' which looks professional and is user friendly. Ok, I had to spend some time tweaking things and getting it to look how I wanted but overall, I think it was excellent value for money. The annual ongoing costs are also reasonable and the tech support team have never failed to sort out any issues I've had (thanks Stu for sorting today's issue!).

Freestart a great site to trust.

I must say what a great pleasure and support I have received from Freestart.
To have people at the end of a phone with patients and talk through any problems like me I have had brain bleeds and strokes they explain things so well and slowly the only company I have had websites through that have been great. Just try them they wont let you down.

Best customer service, ever!

A couple of years ago my brother brought a make your own website.
I logged on ONCE and never went back to it.
It was a mine filed.
I just started my new company and was being quoted £1000 - £5000, not money I have.
Claire Thornton called me one day and shoed me the way.
Best money spent EVER!
I have dealt with Stu who made making my website easy!
he took me through step by step and got my website going.
I now have a fully working website!
So easy! and these guys really helped me otherwise my website would still be dormant.
Claire even arraged my facebook page at no extra charge and I was pleasentley supprised when I received a email telling me my phone app has been set up.

Amazing service and great website.
