Simply First Class!
Had my MOT and major car service at Meadow Lane, Leeds. Absolutely first class customer care from Umar and his team there. I have moved home and Umar highly recommended my nearest Halfords Auto centre near my new address which is great to know. However, I am staying put for now, as I feel part of the team at Meadow Lane!

Honda Jazz Sport Navi 2018 MOT and full Service
Took my Honda Jazz for a full service and MOT to Samlet road Halfords. Staff were friendly and helpful. Car passed the MOT and all work was completed before lunch time. Very pleased. Online booking system was easy as well. Highly recommended.

Visited the Stanley centre on Tuesday…
Visited the Stanley centre on Tuesday morning and the reception staff were friendly and courteous as normal. I had two tyres fitted in quick time. A refreshingly good experience knowing my tyres were fitted by experts in their job.

I booked my car in for it’s major service and MOT. I received a full explanation of exactly what would happen. and when my car would be ready. The service was excellent, the staff very polite and efficient. Pete always goes above and beyond, kept me informed and rang me as soon as my car was ready..

Cowboys that over charge
Following MOT test, I was provided quote for follow up repairs tyres and various other bits, I had tyres replaced for half Halford cost. I agreed to complete other repairs with Halford, on original quote i was charged again for MOT and other bits i was unsure about, when i asked for new cost removing MOT and tyres i was advised cost for some parts where double from original quote.
I will advise never to use this branch, robbing people charging double. Shocking service

Halfords, National tyres, York
Took my car for a major service at Halfords National tyres Layer Thorpe, York. And I know it hasn't been completed. The following day after the service the TPMS alerted me that my tyres were under inflated. These were supposed to be checked during the service and they were notably under pressured. Suspicious I then checked the window screen washer reservoir. Again I refilled it with 2 litres of screen wash. I checked the oil which didn't look clean and there was undisturbed dust on the ignition coil cover. With these minor things not been completed I can't trust that everything else had been completed. Personally I won't take my car there again.

Halfords McConechys Autocentre in Elgin…
Halfords McConechys Autocentre in Elgin unreliable service.
03.10.2026 coolant change took two hours to get it done.
Turned out they found two major issues what needs to be fixed ASAP, but the Final Vehicle Report not mentioned any of the issues. It's been said that will be approximately a thousand pounds and two days to fix it.
My car has been fixed the same day by a professional mechanic from a private garage for less than half amount of money.

Unable to repair the vehicle or diagnose the problem despite charging for a diagnostic and replacing a part that didn't rectify the fault. Wasted time and money.

they sent me a discount for a £20 MOT. I was worried it was a way to get me in and then nit-pick. However the guys in Tunstall were fast and fair. They took the time to explain what might come up next year.

Took my VW ID3 electric car in for…
Took my VW ID3 electric car in for service not sure if this was done properly as the tyres had supposedly more tread on them than the last service no battery health on invoice as requested and advised this would be done. Also took partners diesel car in for service and MoT it failed told over £800 to get it through price went up again when I rang to say I would have it done.Picked car up found oil on wing, on mirror and down door it a white car. Took car elsewhere had all work done £370.
Also found if I had taken electric car to VW garage it would have been £18 cheaper and would have been done properly.
I will need to take other car back for Retest I will update again.
My advice is have a shop around and don't just go for the convenience it could cost you £100s extra
