The staff at Woolacotts, Plymouth, are very knowledge about the products they sell, taking the time to explain the products they sell. Also they are very accommodating with downloading and printing information off for you. This topped off by the two delivery drivers, James and Adam who arrived at the time specified, removing the old appliance and bringing the new one in.

I want to just say now, that this is a family run business and that is something I am always happy to support and I'm very glad I did.

I have to admit, I did not realise it was a family run business at first. But then when I ran into issues with the appliance I brought l, I called to invoke the warranty. Well this is where this company excels and shows it isnt a giant conglomerate, they have an excellent customer service department. They supply a loan appliance while they fix yours and they do go over and above to try and sort things out for you.

For me, this was delayed, I assume it is because getting parts into this country recently has become a far harder task than it used to be. But the wait for the part was going to take way to long. So one of the company's customer service associates took it upon herself to speak to the managing director, who then gave her the go ahead to issue a refund, but further to that, since I had lost faith in the appliance make and model, helped me towards a more sturdy and suitable make.

The thing that stood out to me was that they actually care. It's not an automated system from a huge company and it shows. An unfortunate friend of mine brought a Samsung phone recently and apparently having a single scratch voids the warranty on that 1,200 pound phone after a few months, that's what big companies can do, they don't care at all about their customers. But HBH Woolacotts actually care about their customers and their return business, customer service means something, a warranty means something. The way it used to.

On top of this, I wanted to write to the managing director to tell him how impressed I was with one of his customer service associates, and so I did. I got a call from him to offer an apology for the appliance having gone wrong.

I didn't think these type of companies existed anymore. What an absolutely wonderful experience with a wonderful company, and one that I will recommend over any argos or AO every single day, because they look after their staff and they look after their customers. It used to be why I used amazon, until recently, because they used to have such good customer service (not so much these days) but when you are buying and expensive appliance, that is what you want and need from a company. Their after sales service is just as important, if not more than just being able to buy a product.

HBH Woolacotts has you and your appliance covered! So many good reasons to recommend this company. I hope they outlast all these big companies, because they thoroughly deserve to!

What can i say. Good old fashioned service at the coypool plymouth branch. Got another fridge freezer for my dad. Within 10 minutes new one was loaded into the back of my car. They even told my dad dont bother to register the product for a guarantee just come back here and well sort it out for you. Excellent service from great staff cannot fault.

I ordered a Bosch washing machine. I carefully researched the product that I wanted and found that Woolacott’s price was very competitive. I placed my order over the phone to the Liskeard branch, and the man that I spoke to was both knowledgeable and helpful. The delivery was free and I paid for installation and removal of my old washing machine. Again the price was very good.
The two men who arrived to install the washing machine were polite and efficient and the machine was installed in about 15 minutes. This is the second product that I have bought from Woolacotts and I strongly recommend this lovely little company.

Came in today to buy a new TV having done some research online. We were approached by Andy who confirmed that the one we'd selected was a good option. He was very helpful whilst not being pushy. Andy served us through the entire purchase and helped us out to the car with it. Very impressed that the 5yr warranty was automatically set up without me having to remember to register it.

Bought a shark cordless vacume has stopped working after 7months they said nothing to do with them you have to get in touch with shark on line im 76yrs and no good at technology I'm disgusted ruined my new year to be treated like this

Very helpful on the telephone when my dishwasher stopped working. Came when he said he would. Completed repair saving me the price of a new machine, even went away and searched to see if he could find a new switch. Couldn't praise them enough.

The sales team at HBH Woolacott’s in Plymouth were really informative, knowledgeable and friendly. I was extremely impressed and will make them our first point of call for all electrical goods in the future. The delivery team were also excellent in all ways, polite, helpful and kept us fully informed.

Just sorted out replacement of my mum's freezer under warranty by Woolacotts at Wadebridge. Blown away by how helpful they were, at the shop and also the guys who did the delivery. A lovely contrast to how a large department store who should have known better dealt with my own faulty brand new washing machine.

Firstly let me explain that I am a non-technical person overwhelmed by this digital age (ask my son!). I have been into the HBH Woolacotts Plymouth store a few times in the past after being totally disillusioned by my lifelong supplier of electrical products (John Lewis if I am allowed to name names). The staff At "Woolacotts" Plymouth branch (ESPECIALLY ANDY) are amazing. Andy coped with my ramblings and techno simplicity with phenominal patience. I bought a £500 Panasonic HDD recorder replacing my previous older version which is worn out through excessive use. Unfortunately the new versions programming "updates" are too slow for my demanding requirements and I returned it the next day and got a full credit without any hassle. I also bought two fantastic Sony cordless headphones for my TV, which were recommended wisely by Andy, and my wife is as pleased with her pair as I am with mine! Probably because she doesn't have to hear me complaining about poor soundtracks and noisy adverts!!! I may also be reversing my decision regarding a posh OLED Sony TV and spending more money there soon! THANK YOU FOR YOUR KINDNESS AND PATIENCE WITH ME ANDY ! (capitals used to shout your praise). We purchased a new television and air fryer. We were not up to date with what is available these days. Jamie at the Wadebridge branch could not have been more helpful

I was in the market to splash some cash on a high-end TV and am so pleased I stumbled across HBH Woolacotts: An outstanding range of products, a lot of stock I simply couldn't find anywhere else nationally (at least not at a competitive price point), and some really good deals. I was therefore dismayed to find out they are purely based in Devon and Cornwall and don't deliver outside that area. I was very taken with an ex-display set of the model I was after, at a great price which was still covered by a five-year warranty. I chanced my arm and dropped the Plymouth branch an email to see if they could help and save me a very, very long trip from Wiltshire to Plymouth and onwards to home to the West Midlands, interspersed with what probably would have been a pretty fruitless effort to get a boxed 65" TV in the back of a two door coupe!

Shannon promptly responded to my email and was absolutely brilliant in looking at delivery options and got back to me within an hour. It would have been very easy for them to just say 'no' and send me on my way. Sadly, they couldn't find a delivery solution for me but I managed to find a courier who would do it for a reasonable charge. For anyone outside their delivery area, I really wouldn't dismiss purchasing from HBH Woolacotts if there's a deal worth putting in the leg work to sort out delivery yourself.

Awkwardly my courier turned up a day earlier than expected for the pickup and the TV wasn't ready for dispatch. Thankfully the staff at Plymouth quickly sorted it out and no-doubt saved me from a disgruntled, delayed courier and probably having to re-book and pay them again.

The TV is amazing. As new. I couldn't be happier although sadly the wrong remote was sent with it - the branch were very apologetic when I rang them up and I have every confidence that they'll rectify the issue ASAP.

I'm extremely jealous that the South East has HBH Woolacotts. It would be very easy to criticise their restrictive delivery policy but actually I really respect their focus on serving the community around them first and sticking to a local business model that clearly works for them. By retaining control of delivery they can clearly focus on quality of service and avoiding the reputational harm caused by using the big delivery companies who often both figuratively and literally fail to deliver. Retailers are increasingly a few, giant, faceless webstores that might save you money but have terrible customer service and appalling ethics. Sadly the type of local shops that we all want to support are generally too small to price competitively and no one is going to pay MSRP when you know you can get decent discounts and free next Day delivery online without really looking. HBH Woolacotts manages offer an outstanding personal touch with the purchasing muscle to compete with the giants. I really wish there were more companies like this - preferably in the West Midlands!

Dreadful customer service! - first ever purchase at Woolacotts - an AEG induction hob that has cracked through no fault of our own right across one side to other in 12 months. Woolacotts outcome? send a photographer out, oh, can’t really see from the pics but it looks like accidental damage- how do you work that out if you can’t see from the pics- and that’s it???? I am an honest person and if i knew i’d damaged it myself i wouldn’t be so mad at the lack of help i’ve had - but i haven’t damaged it myself. Is that how long a £500 induction hob is supposed to last? shan’t be shopping here out of choice again I don’t think!
The ‘senior delivery engineer’ told me he was ‘only taking photo’s’ and that ‘he wasn’t technical’ so i don’t believe the thoroughness of the effort to help us one small bit.
If this is how you respond to customers with valid claims, I would warn everyone NOT TO PURCHASE ANYTHING EXPENSIVE from Woolacott’s - THEY CLEARLY DO NOT CARE - the response below suggests I’m lying

Have used Woollcott’s for tv purchases for several years and have found their service from start to finish to be exceptional. Have just purchased a new tv from their Plymouth store and once again their service cannot be faulted and the two lads who set up my tv and soundbar were brilliant. Why any one would use the likes of Currys to buy goods which are available from Woollcott’s is beyond me.
Great store and great prices.

So where do I start, bought a laptop from Woolacotts, St Austell. Salesperson, Steve, was really helpful without being in your face. We told him what we were looking for and he pointed us to an Asus laptop with 80 quid off, happy days! When trying to set it up we had a problem, phoned Woolacotts and they said bring it down and we will help. Got there and Dan came to our rescue, after trying to solve the problem we concluded the laptop was faulty. No problem, he gave us a new one. After trying to set up the new one, we came across various issues that were mainly down to us (seniors), on each occasion Woolacotts told us to come down to the store and they would help us. Nothing was too much trouble, the staff that helped us were amazing, big thanks to Sophie and her blonde colleague (unfortuntely we do not know her name), special thanks to Dan and Matt who were amazing and patient. We have always had excellent service from Woolacotts, excellent service, above and beyond. All our electrical goods come from Woolacotts.
