Great pricing for the goods I ordered and on delivery day I had a call from the driver with an eta and he was very helpful

I haven't received the soil and although I have sent an enquiry about it, Ibhaven't heard anything back.

Item never turned up on delivery date although was told directly late in the day it would be

Paid for delivery of a transformer and it was never delivered. Have called and emailed company multiple times and have now filed a case with the bank.
Appears company is a scam

Our order should have been delivered today2/4/2026 but has not been delivered.we have waited in all day with no explanation

Failed to deliver rental sander despite over 1 week's notice!
Booked a combination floor and edge sander for rental over a week prior to delivery date. Contacted customer services and requested AM slot which was agreed.
Day of rental received no contact. Phoned HSS 3x, each time told I would get an update in an hour and never did. Eventually found out they had no stock and were looking for another supplier. Finally spoke to a member of staff at 4pm who confirmed they would not be delivering it that day or even the next.
Shocking customer service. Wasted a whole day of annual leave waiting for something that never came. Will never use HSS again.
Spoke with Jewson's who delivered one within the hour!

Extremely disappointed with my experience with HSS.

I was wrongly charged for damage that simply did not occur. The equipment was returned in good condition, yet I was still presented with a charge for alleged damage with no clear evidence to support it.

What made the situation worse was the way it was handled. Rather than properly investigating the issue or engaging in a fair discussion, it felt like the assumption was made that I was automatically liable. This is completely unacceptable and leaves customers feeling taken advantage of.

I would strongly urge anyone using HSS to carefully document the condition of any hired equipment before and after use, as my experience has left me with very little confidence in their processes or customer service.

Everything I ordered was delivered on time and was to my expectations. I will definitely be using this company again.

Great price and speedy delivery of the product I wanted. I cant fault it and will use again.

Do not hire off this company. They deliver late, are a nightmare to get hold of and lie about everything. They don’t call you back when promised and any complaints take weeks. Still waiting for a refund I was promised on a sander which I couldn’t use. Even the delivery drivers are fed up. Now going to escalate my complaint further

I ordered a half ton bag of topsoil with delivery due 08.30. I rang HSS at 09.30 and the lady was helpful and said would get hold of supplier and call me back. About 11.00 call rec'd from Selco (who HSS had arranged to provide and deliver) to apologise but bag not put aside and none available that day so he agreed to deliver at 08.30 on the friday. At 09.15 on Friday I called to be told it hadn't even been loaded onto the wagon yet and was waiting for driver to return to yard to pick up. They gave an eta of about 11.30. It was finally delivered around then and the driver was really helpful and dropped exactly where i needed over my back fence. The soil is exctly what I required and good quality.
I have marked down due to delivery issues, it was good I wasn't relying on its delivery to be able to carry out planting

Do not use, cancelled my scaffolding hire a day before delivery. No warning. Had it booked for weeks.
Rubbish

This is tricky because the product was very good. People I spoke to by phone were good and delivery man excellent. I would love to give a better scored review. However. My order was due to be delivered on Thursday, I phoned to see if that was happening & was told yes c13.00 - 14.00. Later I received a call saying it wasn’t coming as they’d been let down on a delivery. He suggested it would be Tuesday & we agreed he’d ring me Monday to confirm. I phoned again on Tuesday & was told he’d phone me back. He did & confirmed Tuesday delivery and it arrived. Interestingly I was being asked for a review before I had received delivery.

Absolute waste of space.
Placed an order which they cancelled at their end without any communication to myself. They then passed the problem from Leeds to Manchester as they couldn't sort it. I ordered an electric wacker plate but was then offered a petrol one and promised an AM delivery.
Spoke to them on the day again to be told they were having problems.
I cancelled the order and went somewhere else

Good info although not when promised, polite driver, so would use again
