time wasters.

time wasters.. no comm's, delivery arrived at 6pm when site was closed. whole day wasted!! HOWEVER Patrick on help desk was a ray of sunshine, fast, efficient, no BS! shame for the rest of the team.

Awful, just awful. My advice is NEVER use this company.

Where to begin! I ordered a carpet cleaner and cleaning solution. Delivered about a week later with no notification (luckily I was in the house). No cleaning solution was delivered and the plug was the wrong type to plug into domestic sockets. Mono-syllabic delivery guy said we would be contacted...which never happened. Called up the help line and the operative confirmed that they had delivered the wrong item so would arrange to pick up and drop off the correct item. Another week/10 days go by with this bit of kit sitting in my hallway - no notification again, random collection of incorrect kit but replacement was not delivered. Called up the help line again and they agreed to refund. Another week or so and i get my £10 deposit back but not the full refund for the item that still hasn't been delivered! Called again after waiting to see if the cash would be refunded - operative explained that he couldn't refund because a case needed to be opened, and he proceeded to up date the case with the details (which evidently hadn't already been done). He explained it would be a couple of days before i received the cash and here we are, about 2 weeks later still waiting. Not sure how this company is in existence - pretty much the worst service i've ever received and I still have dirty carpets and have been charged for the privilege.

No delivery / no communication / money taken!

Delivery did not arrive, tool is unserviceable.
Understand this happens, but HSS fail to contact to notify.

First call 11:00, 34 minutes to find out they can’t deliver.
HSS are going to look at what other options and call me back.

They do not call back. At 15:00 I chase them second call 41 minutes to be told I will get a call back by the right department.

It’s now passed closing time, the 2nd promised call back has not taken place.

HSS has not delivered yet have taken my money!

If this is HSS understanding of customer service, then AVOID!

Following my initial review, I’ve raised an online dispute, with calls to HSS costing in excess of £20. I’ve been ignored via the phone and online dispute.

This company had absolutely no interest…

This company had absolutely no interest in assisting us when our delivery had not arrived. Two phone calls were a complete waste of time, we were passed to a department who were supposed to investigate but after waiting 25 minutes to connect they just put the phone down and made no attempt to re contact us . Unless you are desperate don’t bother using them

Unreachable customer service, stolen money

I rented a wacker plate for a home DIY project, as well as bought a petrol container and ear defenders for the work.

The wacker plate arrived on time, but the other two items simply never arrived. I've completed the job and waited more than a week since and they still haven't arrived. I've struggled to get through to anyone on their customer support line to arrange a refund.

What's more, they left no details for when they would be picking up the rented equipment. Several days after the end of my rental period they finally sent a pickup date a week later which was supposed to be today. As I write I've still had no pickup, no further information despite having to wait in all day for this.

Ridiculous customer service and I've generally just been scammed out of £20 for products which they decided never to deliver.

Not Good service

The delivery was cancelled on 2 occasions, putting me out greatly. Then they didn't call me as agreed prior to delivery on the day, as I inform them that I was not going to be in, and that I will come back when they called to let me know they were on their way to deliver. I also called them after the first cancellation and was told somwould call me back and they did not. Not impressed. However, the delivery guy was OK, very helpful.

Missed the consumables twice, late on all deliveries, lots of time on hold!

After sending me an early morning e-mail saying they'll be on site with the tools at 9.15am, they turned up late around 11.30am without the chisels for the breaker or the discs for the cutter.

Pathetic 'help' from the office, just got bounced around various extensions, no information passed between desks, had to explain the full situation each time. Was on hold for approx 2 hours total over 4 office calls on the day.

Eventually I get promised that we'll have the missing chisels and discs first thing next day... Guess what nothing turns up until midday and they've forgotten the cutting discs again!!!

Ridiculous, cost me more than a day in time, and had to pay a labourer to just sit around and wait .

Really really silly.

The actual tools (breaker, whacker and disc cutter) all worked well.

The order never arrived

The order never arrived. It was originally scheduled to be delivered on April 2, 2026, which was confirmed by both the seller and the courier (DHL).

After that, I received conflicting emails such as “your shipment is on the way,” “we have your parcel,” and “there are delays.” Then there were no further updates at all.

On April 4, 2026, the order was canceled, but I did not receive any confirmation of the cancellation or any other information. The only email I received afterward was a feedback request on April 5.
