This is a well priced and very simple to purchase insurance option that I would recommend anyone travelling for dental work outside of the UK to select.

I cannot fault this company and In particular laura.

I took out Medical Travel Shield insurance for my first visit to Turkey and thankfully didn’t need to use it. I took out cover again for my second visit when I went back to have my permanent teeth fitted.

Around 11 months after that visit, I unfortunately found myself needing to make a claim, and I’m so glad I had taken out the insurance.

Laura was my claims advisor throughout the whole process and she was absolutely amazing. She was always very quick to respond, always on hand, and genuinely happy to answer any questions I had. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and she made the whole claims process so much easier and less stressful.

From start to finish I felt like I was in safe hands. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend Medical Travel Shield to anyone travelling abroad for treatment. You hope you’ll never need to make a claim, but if something does go wrong, having the right cover really does make a difference.

I’ve used this insurance company for three separate visits to Turkey and thankfully i haven’t had to put one claim in . But to have the .peace of mind that I am covered should I need to is priceless. Each time people have said doesn’t your holiday insurance cover, cover it . NO it doesn’t and if people read the small print they would realise .
Elective Exclusions: Standard holiday insurance treats planned medical travel as an exclusion.
Uncovered Complications: If you experience post-surgery bleeding, infection, or complications, regular plans will not pay for your emergency care or extended stay.
No Repatriation: Medical flights or an extended stay because you are unfit to fly are rarely covered without a specialized rider.
Why take the risk for such cover at such a competitive price. You are paying alot for your surgery

An excellent Medical Travel Insurance Company.

I had a disaster in Turkey this June and i am so glad i took Insurance with Medical Travel Sheild.

I had to go back only last week and let me tell you they covered my return flights, my hotel and my food.

Claiming was so easy and simple to, the staff Laura and Maureen were so helpful and helped me with everything along the way.
I think i was starting to drive them mad with all my questions but even if i was they did not mention it.

Well what can i say unfortunately i have had to claim twice, after needing surgery after my accident while in antalya, then having to return unexpectedly, the claim was dealt with efficiently and superbly but a lady called maureen who is a credit to this company can not recommend to highly exceptional from start to finish. ten stars .

The only reason I have given 3 stars is because it was easy to get but as I didn’t need to use the insurance I couldn’t say how well they are at dealing with a claim

Unfortunately I had to make a claim after a medical complication. In a distressed state I called their NGS Operations team who are the first point of contact when an emergency arises. They were empathetic in reassuring me I was covered and explained the process. I was calmed and impressed by their guidance.
However, it was after I safely returned to the UK and my file was passed to the Claims dept. that was not so impressive. My Claims Handler, Maureen did not seem familiar with the policy as she managed to under calculate my claim twice, even deducting for an excess to a clause with NIL excess. In another clause I misunderstood the terms and unknowlingly under claimed. Maureen did not correct me. Fortunately I tried calling her on the number in her email signature. It was answered by Sales who told me Claims do not have a number and I can't speak to anyone there and that communication with them is via email only. (So why give a Claims number?) I asked their Sales rep. to verify what I believed I could claim.
My claim entitlement was actually twice what Maureen had initially stated.
Even after the rightful amount was agreed I was underpaid and a second payment had to be made for the shortfall.
I wasn't going to write this review as I am just grateful my traumatic ordeal is over and I did eventually receive my claim. But then I thought it might be helpful to others who have to go through this process.
Check your policy clauses carefully. Do your own calculations.

Happily, I've not had to make a claim, but it was easy to arrange and give peace of mind when having treatment in a foreign country.

I took medicalshield travel insurance out as I was going for cosmetic surgery abroad, I did consider not getting it as I thought I probably wouldn't need, however im so glad I did because I was one of those people in the minority that had complications and ended up with a rather large bill! Medicalshield have been great it sent them all.my information and receipts when I finally got back home and within 3 days my claim has been excepted and im just waiting on the money going into the bank I was really worried it would be complicated and stressful but that hasnt been my experience at all! It's really taken a weight off knowing I was covered, highly recommend definitely worth taking a policy out if your in 2 minds better to be safe then sorry

I have nothing but good words to say about this company, from my personal experience. What was asked from me was very clear. Channels of communication were very open and my emails responded to quickly. A very good experience and would recommend and use this company in the future.

I have used medical travel shield a few times now. Last year I had a procedure abroad that I unfortunately developed some serious complications from and required a revision this year. The process of claiming for the revision couldn’t have been smoother.
Never once did I feel like they were trying to avoid approving my claim and Laura from the claims team was always very attentive and quick to reply to any messages and made a stressful situation much easier.

Good value for money and gives you peace of mind. My dental work is now insured for 12 months. If anything goes wrong and I need to go back I know I don’t have to worry about anything as I’m covered.

I needed to use my policy after my plastic surgery in Lithuania. I developed complications 8 days after my initial surgery and needed emergency surgery. I was already planning to stay for 2 weeks after the original operation but ended up having to stay an additional 14 days on top.

It was a life or death experience but I have nothing but praise for the insurer.

I spoke to the emergency team when I was out of ICU and they were kind and helpful. I was able to use my UK health card so didn’t need to claim for hospital costs but I know they would’ve been covered.

They covered the cost of the additional days in a hotel once I had been discharged from the hospital and I also received money towards subsistence every day I was at the hotel recovering and for each night I was in hospital after the emergency surgery.

I didn’t need to claim for flight changes but if I had needed to I could have.

The claim process was pretty straightforward once I was feeling more like myself, payment was straight into my bank. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again and to recommend to anyone going abroad for plastic surgery.
