NZID provided an excellent tailored itinerary for us taking account of our interests and chose a good set of B&Bs and hotels. We went through about 6 or 7 iterations on accommodation and routes until we got to the final one, which we were very happy with.
The documentation sent out before departure gives detailed directions to properties as well as useful tips for short detours on journeys.
It was also beneficial to have a local agent to deal with any issues that may occur (we had been concerned whether the ferry would run with strong winds and about the destructive rain that had occurred in Fjordland shortly before we were due to go there).
The UK team helped us change our flights home at short notice and over the weekend when my wife had a slight injury.

The ability to read our brief and needs for this holiday was outstanding. Accommodation booked was way above expectations though not over expensive. Support when the weather inhibited us from reaching one destination was exceptional and alternative arrangements made were fantastic. Support at all stages of our travel was available if needed. All in all New Zealand In Depth was outstanding and thoroughly recommended to anyone wishing to explore New Zealand.

A well organised 5 week holiday with no hiccups. The team have a great knowledge of New Zealand and were able to organise a fantastic itinerary with superb locations to stay as well as good hotels on the outward and homeward legs. They deserve their 5 star rating.

From the moment Paul spoke with my husband and I to understand exactly what we wanted from the holiday, he designed an itinerary that was perfect. Each of the places we stayed was delightful, with charming hosts and they all spoke highly of Paul. The restaurants he recommended, or cafes on route were excellent. The trips he organised were fascinating without exception and my favourite was the private tour he arranged at the Te Papa museum in Wellington. Paul thought of everything and he made it a holiday we shall never forget.

NZ in depth worked with us to develop an itinerary for a 3 month visit to Australia and New Zealand. This included booking flights, accommodation and trips. The accommodation varied in style from aparthotels to country cottages and all were perfectly sited and of good quality. The trips were all well thought out and were an amazing experience. Virtually everything went to plan which is no mean feat on such a long trip. On the couple of occasions we needed additional guidance the local representatives in each country were efficient in helping us out. Overall we had an amazing time and I would recommend NZ in depth highly.

Everything went to plan and our personalised information pack meant no wrong turns and plenty of advance insight into the areas we visited.

We met Paul from New Zealand in Depth at the travel show in London. After a discussion with him, we asked for his help in planning our trip to New Zealand. We gave him a budget, dates and a wish list. He came back with an itinerary, after a few tweaks we agreed to it. He then booked all flights, accommodation, activities and transport. As we didn’t want to drive, getting around was by bus, train or excursions. Everything went like clockwork. We would highly recommend New Zealand in Depth if you need help in planning your trip to New Zealand.

We have recently returned from a months trip to NZ and I can highly recommend NZ in Depth. Harriet listened to the sort of trip we wanted and sorted out superb accommodation (a mixture of luxury B and B’s and Hotels) all were perfect and we never had any issues wherever we stayed. We were given a detailed itinerary for our trip, which had helpful suggestions en route. Everything was sorted for us, including a trip to Hobbiton, a wine tour, car hire, ferry across to South Island and a lagoon trip. Thank you for a very memorable trip!

We met Paul Carberry from New Zealand in Depth at the Travel Show and he stood apart from the rest of the travel companies due to the fact that he plans itineraries to suit the individual. He listened carefully to what we wanted to do in New Zealand and after several phone calls and meeting face to face he came up with the perfect itinerary to suit our requirements. He put together a package for us which included flights, accommodation, car hire and activities and provided us with a day to day manual explaining routes, things to see on the way, restaurants and coffee shops which became our bible for the holiday. The detail was perfect and we followed many of his suggestions and found them all to be worthwhile. Our accommodation was varied from motels, to hotels to B & B and some more unusual accommodations which added to the overall
experience and they were all excellent. The in depth knowledge Paul and his colleagues have about New Zealand is second to none and it meant that we had the perfect holiday with all the worry of planning taken care of. We would definitely recommend New Zealand in Depth to anyone considering a holiday in New Zealand and will definitely use them again.

We have just returned from a 4 week trip to New Zealand organised for us by Sally from New Zealand in Depth. We cannot praise the company enough. The whole trip was the holiday of a lifetime and will remain with us for a very long time.
It was tailored to our requirements and we stayed at some amazing locations in beautiful accommodation. We certainly could not have done it ourselves. The whole holiday was planned so thoroughly and in such detail that all we had to do was enjoy the wonderful ,breathtakingly beautiful country. Sally Lilley at NZ in Depth curated a wonderful 12 day trip round South Island for us. She quickly got to grips with the sort of holiday we were looking for and what we would and, importantly, would not want to do, and then put it all together efficiently and in great detail. We changed our minds quite a few times and this was all taken on board willingly. And once we were on the ground she kept in touch (together with the local representative) and was there to pick up questions and queries as they arose. I really can't speak more highly of the whole team and indeed the whole experience.

We have used New Zealand in Depth for 2 holidays. They have done a fantastic job both times. Accommodation was excellent, dietary needs shared to all hotels/B&Bs, trip/excursion advice great, everything went like clockwork. We have recommended them to others who have also had great holidays. We started planning in September 2018 for our 2019 trip and after quite a lot of emails and phone calls decided on an itinerary. We got a thick personalised file about two weeks before we were to leave and that was our bible, we needed little else. Meticulously planned and organised for a six week trip, including lots of thoughts about where to eat, what side trips to take, what clothes to take for the Tongariro Crossing etc! it made the whole trip effortless and utterly pleasurable. We could never have done this by ourselves, the level of knowledge and personal contacts these people have is phenomenal.Everyone who knew them in NZ spoke very highly of them and now of course we do too!

A truly fabulous holiday was organised by Paul at NZ In Depth. We met Paul at a travel show and wanted to visit NZ a couple of months later however Paul was very honest and said he could do it but it wouldn't be the best he could put together for us. We decided there and then that honesty like that was what we were looking for. We spent the next 2 years liaising with Paul about what we wanted from the holiday and getting everything right. We were away for 8 weeks in total and everything under their control went like clockwork and we had a really fantastic time, we drove nearly 3000 miles, had 15 different flights, stayed in 26 different accommodations varying from a homestead to SC to small B&B's and boutique hotels, all of which we loved. New Zealand is a fantastic country and due to Paul's organisation we feel we saw the best of it. One of our best ever holidays and we have visited 72 countries!

Thanks to Harriet at NZ in Depth for her patience with us over a long period of time.Not just over the phone and internet but she had to put up with personal visits as well(nice pies round the corner - but they have since moved)

Everything worked as it should do - all the accommodation was where we expected and all the tours were booked correctly.

Was it whale watching in Kaikoura,fabulous beaches at Abel Tasman (don't forget to visit the Mussel Inn),Helicopter at Franz Josef, Wonderful Wanaka and the Cordrona Valley,Milford in the rain ( spectacular),overnight on Doubtful,
watching (not doing)bungee jumpers,magnificent Mount Cook,feeding the lamb at Arthurs pass or the rural postie trip at Akoroa.You choose.

We started very late in planning a trip to New Zealand—last October for a trip in January, 2019! We have traveled extensively, but didn’t know a thing about NZ except that it had two islands. We decided on a self-drive tour and contacted several companies. Sally with New Zealand in Depth was the first to reply!
Sally did a superhuman job of pulling together a three-week itinerary for us in record time and was so patient with my many questions and tweaks (all done through email).
She really focused on our interests (which did not include things like lengthy hikes and extreme sports!) and came up with many suggestions to choose from. In Rotorua, she developed an entire day’s schedule for us, including a kiwi tour, farm show, nature park, and, of course, Maori cultural experiences, with instructions on exactly where to be and at what times. In Queenstown, a really fun activity she booked for us was a beekeeping activity where you actually go to a hive to see how bees live and make honey (with a special outfit on, of course).
All the accommodations were outstanding, far better than we would have booked ourselves. She pre-booked almost all our tours and activities, our cars, and the flight to the South Island and mapped out our route, with suggestions for side trips or stops enroute. Every detail was covered. All we had to do was drive, which made everything so much more stress-free. Because I’m paper-oriented and don’t use GPS, I bought a spiral-bound comprehensive road atlas of both islands from an NZ tourist office and they shipped it to me very quickly.
And last but not least, Audrey of ID New Zealand, their partner on site in Auckland, was ground control if we needed anything. She checked on us to make sure we were OK, which we greatly appreciated.
If we do another trip to New Zealand (and we hope to), we will definitely use Sally’s services again. In short, I highly recommend New Zealand in Depth and give them a well-deserved five stars!

Paul and Sally gave us some expert advice on flights options, what to see and do, and put together a really excellent itinerary for both North and South Islands. All the arrangements worked like clockwork and as a result we had the best holiday of our lives !
