Great service
I ordered this rose as a wedding present (the lovely bride) one day and it arrived the next day beautifully wrapped in a box and in great condition. We also rang the company before ordering and they were very knowledgeable and helpful. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone.

Great choice of Roses on an easy to use…
Great choice of Roses on an easy to use website. The rose was well packed on arrival as a gift to my sister in law. The only slight niggle was that I did find it difficult to discover whether the rose could be sent directly as a gift to the recipient. It was only at payment that I discovered I could! All good. Would recommend.

Your order was placed on 27th April and dispatched on 29th April at 2:55pm, with an estimated delivery date of 2nd May. Tracking shows the order was delivered earlier than anticipated on 30th April.
While we always do our best to work towards requested delivery dates where possible, unfortunately we are unable to guarantee exact delivery days due to external courier factors once parcels leave our nursery.
We do appreciate your feedback regarding the online ordering process and will pass this on internally, as we understand how frustrating it can be when an order cannot be completed online as expected.

I have bought 2 roses from Beales this year so far. The first was a bare root and it really didn't look very well but I have potted it and it does seem to be sending out some small leaves. The second was a potter rose and it's much better, bigger and healthy looking. Over all, I'm pleased and can't wait to see some lovely blooms. Xx

Bare root roses can sometimes look a bit underwhelming on arrival, especially early in the season, but it’s a good sign that yours is now pushing out new leaves. That’s typically how they establish a slow start, then steady growth once settled.

Ordered Oxford Physics rose
Ordered Oxford Physics rose. I have wanted this one for some time. Gardener Ben on Youtube has recommended it for his "Shade Collection" The rose arrived, very quickly indeed. It is healthy with lots of growth and is in the ground. So far it's doing well, receiving around 5 hours direct sunlight a day. I am very excited about this one. It's an absolute beauty. Can't wait for it to flower.

Really good to hear it arrived quickly and in strong condition. Five hours of direct sun should be plenty for it to establish well, especially with a bit of shelter. Sounds like it’s settling in nicely already.
Hopefully not too long before you start seeing those first blooms it’s definitely one worth the wait

There was a problem with the delivery of my order and I phoned to enquire about it. The lady I spoke to was so lovely and helpful and sent a replacement order to me. I really appreciated this as it was the couriers fault and not Peter Beatles Roses. The rose I received is excellent, far better than I imagined. Thank you so much

I’m very disappointed with their chosen delivery provider, DPD. They emailed me to confirm that my parcel from Peter Beales would arrive between 2:30 and 3:30 PM, 28 April). I stayed at home today specifically to receive this rose. However, at the last minute, they sent another message claiming that they had “missed me” and rescheduled delivery for tomorrow.
The next day, 29 April, I received a message from DPD at 19:28 PM saying, “Sorry, we missed you. Your driver, Vasile, won’t be back today, but you can still rearrange your delivery.” So, outrageously frustrated. I requested a refund and received it (hence 2 stars).
This was my first (and last) time ordering from Peter Beales Roses, and I regret making this purchase. No wonder so many people — myself included — highly recommend David Austin Roses.

This isn’t the level of service we expect, especially when you’ve made time to be in for a delivery. While we work with DPD as a trusted courier, issues like this can occasionally happen, but the communication you received clearly wasn’t good enough.
I’m glad your refund was processed promptly, but we understand that this doesn’t make up for the inconvenience caused.
We’re feeding this back to both our internal team and the courier to help prevent similar situations going forward. If you did want to give us another try in future, we’d hope to provide a much smoother experience.

Do not buy from Peter Beale
I ordered a potted rose on 22nd April, outside the time for a bare-root rose, correctly, April is too hot to plant a bare root rose. Delivery was very fast, just 2 days. Well done. But I needed to keep the rose for a family members birthday. Shouldn’t be a problem. I put it in a protected area out of direct sun and kept it sensibly watered. Despite that the three small buds that were breaking failed to thrive. One of the strong stems failed to show any buds at all, so in desperation yesterday I knocked the rose out of its pot to find that what I had got was a bare rooted rose that had been put into compost and had failed to make any new healthy roots. Effectively I had received an almost dead rose. And I paid the price for a potted rose.
I have been encouraging gardening friends to look beyond David Austin roses. "Look at Beales roses, they have some lovely roses". Never again. Stay away.

All of our roses are covered by a one-year guarantee. As they are living plants, establishment can vary, but what you’ve described doesn’t sound right for a potted rose and we’d like to investigate this properly.
We don’t routinely remove roses from their pots prior to dispatch, so we rely on visible top growth at the time of sending. That said, the condition of the roots and overall establishment is clearly important here, and we’d like to review this for you.
If you’re able to, please send photos of the plant (including the roots if possible) along with your order details to support@peterbealesroses.com. Once received, the team can assess the issue and arrange a suitable resolution whether that’s advice, a replacement, or a refund where appropriate.

Good website and filters to find the rose I want, even though I'm no expert. Quick delivery, and the rose when it came (in a pot) looked like a really strong, healthy plant. You can get cheaper roses elsewhere, but I'm happy with what I paid - I feel the price reflects the quality and it's a really good plant.

I was a little disappointed when I put it in its container, the soil fell away from the rootball, there wasn’t any stability when I tried to take it out of the pot, it just fell out and all the soil went everywhere.🤔

What you’ve described can sometimes happen, especially if the compost has dried out a little in transit, which can cause it to loosen around the rootball. It won’t harm the rose itself, but we completely understand it’s not ideal when planting.
Once planted and watered in well, the roots should settle and establish nicely. However, if you have any concerns at all as it develops, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us

We’re really pleased to hear the rose arrived promptly and well protected – we take great care with our packaging to ensure plants reach you safely. We appreciate your note regarding the compost being dry; this can occasionally happen in transit, and giving it a thorough watering on arrival is exactly the right approach.
At this time of year, it’s quite normal for roses to show minimal growth, with just a few buds beginning to emerge. With a little care, regular watering, and the warmer conditions ahead, it should establish well and put on strong growth.
The two roses were a great price and…
The two roses were a great price and delivery was just as prompt as promised. I was disappointed though when I opened the box to find that a lot of the compost/mulch had fallen out of the two pots and a bottle of rose tonic that was part of my order was lying on top of both roses and had damaged them, with branches and growing tips snapped off both plants. So I deduce they were not couriered standing up as the box instructs! I emailed the company who apologised and just said plant them out and prune them lightly and if they don't survive there is a year's guarantee. So we shall see and hope they survive.
