I went here today because I misread an online ad for a van. The details of the van included an ad for Plympton Car Centre and I stupidly thought the van was in Plympton (it was in Wales!!!). However, what a delightful salesman in Plympton who was super tactful and pleasant. Next time I buy a car, I shall go to Plympton.

We’ve have just purchased a Nissan Juke from here. Could not have been more helpful and friendly! Part exchanged our Toyota aygo and Bailey and Tim were great. After previously buying from a larger dealership, plympton car centre were so much more helpful and not pushy at all. We live in saltash but would definitely go back here for when the car is due it’s MOT as they are great. Thank you!

Purchased a car with a missold warranty that isn’t worth the paper it’s wrote on paid out more to have the car fixed and was still faulty and still waiting for a call from last year to get the car back in to fix the problem

Team were great, not pushy at all allowed us to test drive a few cars and we did a great deal

I bought a VW Golf from this company last week. I first of all did my research and seen there was lots of positive reviews. Since buying the car, the guys have been very friendly and genuine. Very helpful and I would definitely recommend purchasing a car from here.

WORST CAR COMPANY EVER!!!!!!!!!
Bought an over priced ford focus from this company in October 2018 and on collection i complained of a damp smell to my car i enquired about the smell as it was strong and was told this was due to the car being valeted and locked up. LIES!! later on as the weather worsened i realised my boot was leaking resulting in £600 worth of damage to my belongings. so after a few emails later they agree to "fix" the problem. the rains passed by this time and due to the vile damp smell still being there over time i did not realise my boots still wet! so the problem gets worse i know at this point i need to get my facts about my rights so i research contact many companies and all giving me the same response that I'm entitled to a refund due to the fact its the same issue i contacted about previously. they refuse me my refund and no offers of anything else. now I'm going to have to spend more time battling with this AWFUL business to get what I'm owed and go somewhere else to get a reliable family car!

I'd definitely recommend Plympton car centre because there was no pressure to buy. I was left to look around the site until i was ready test drive the car i chose. Very friendly, helpful and especially bailey really made decision easier.

Excellent members of staff, made it a wonderful expierence, allowed me my space to just have a look but were there If I needed anything or any help. Very welcoming and professional! Would 100% recommend.

Everyone who works there is lovely. When I went there to get the car I’ve got now, I had Adam and Tyler serving me, they were both respectful professional and helpful to me.

I’m a bit weary about buying a new car after my last one cost me an arm and a leg. however, the sales team at Plympton car centre where the most amazing, lovely people and helped me through somethnig I find a massive struggle with.
Couldn’t fault anything they did a pleasure to be around wouuld definitely recommend!

WORST CAR TRADER EVER.

Bought a BMW Z4 for £4499.

Had to wait 3 days to collect it as it failed the MOT and the garage continued to order in wrong parts for the repair.

Collected the car to discover that the passenger window didn't work, drove straight back to the garage and booked the car in for a few days time.

The next day the EML was illuminated and a new fault developed where all the warning lights on the dash board lit up when you accelerate.

When I collected the car from the garage no repairs had been completed and I was told the garage would call me when the parts arrived.

2 weeks after that no one had been in contact and the car was still faulty. When I called to complain and request my money back I was lied to and told the trader has the right to repair, which they don't.

I spoke to trading standards and they told me that under the consumers right act 2015 you have 30 days to return the car for a full refund if it's not satisfactory -

Trading standards confirmed that they have broken the law and they have been reported, reference number 15351960.

Following online advice from the .gov websites and citizens advice I proceeded through the recommended process of written letters, mediations, ADR schemes and generally pleading. Today I started a small claims procedure and the amount in question is now £4,705.69 due to legal costs.

I'm very fortunate in my situation that I don't currently need the car so I'm able to complete this process, but for the normal average person if you bought a car from these guys and needed a refund it would almost be impossible for you to spare the time and money, and they know it. Other reviews on trustpilot confirm this, specifically mentioning that they do NOT honor the consumers rights act 2015.

This trader used to be called AJ Motors, you can still see a lot of bad reviews about them online, I guess they changed their name for a fresh start but it's the same people.

Below is the timeline as stated on my claim against the company

January 9th 2019 - Took the BMW Z4 for a test drive and paid £200 deposit.
January 12th 2019 - Collected the car. Passenger window not working, car booked into garage for repair.
January 15th 2019 - Car collected but no repairs completed, passenger window not working, EML light illuminated and multiple warning lights flash when accelerating. Told the garage is waiting for the parts.
January 29th - Contacted the trader to tell them I'm not happy with the car or the fact they have not repaired it and would like my money back.
January 31st - Car physically returned to Trader, written notice of
desire for refund delivered to Trader and signed.
February 13th - Complaint logged with consumer-ombudsman, however Trader is not part of their scheme.
February 16th - No reply to suggestion of paying half Mediation costs.
February 21st - Letter before action sent to Trader recorded delivery, 14 days to reply.
March 8th - No reply to letter, phone conversation with Adam, he tells me that Stuart (The boss) is 'going to stand his ground' - So we are still at a standoff.

To your reply -

It took you 3 weeks, written notice and the car being returned to you for you to finally complete the repairs.
The period from collection to 3 weeks after the car had multiple faults that you failed to repair, that's the point I decided to return the car you to, which I have a right. It doesn't matter if the engine had to be rebuilt or if you had to replace a spark plug, for 3 weeks I had a faulty car and I decided I wanted my money back.

Excellent customer service, very helpfull team,no "pushy" sales pitch. Very very happy with my new car & would definitely recommend Plympton Car Sales for great service & an excellent deal.
