Right I'm back again with everything resolved with Direct Bikes over some minor issues with the Speedometer. They sent me a new one with no issues with the warranty. I've fixed the old one anyway it was just a sticky button. If the problems persist I'll put the new one on but it's fine right now. I've never purchased a motorbike this way before so I guess I was really not sure if it was a good idea. Firstly you need patience. You won't be riding it until DVLA approves the paperwork. Registration was actually quite easy, you just copy the information from the certificate of conformity onto the DVLA form once you receive it. That takes up to 7 days but if you don't get it email them and they will ensure that you do, so don't worry. Any questions you honestly can't answer leave blank. I enclosed a short letter with mine saying I'd done my best and DVLA issued the registration after 3 weeks. So it can be up to a month before you get it on the road. This isn't Direct Bikes fault or yours, it's just the way it is. Personally DVLA should provide an online service for this like they do with dealerships. Direct Bikes cuts out the dealers and saves you a fortune trust me.
Now to the bike. I have the 125cc Cruiser, and ride it everywhere and sometimes 50 miles and more in a day. The little engine is excellent and very reliable. It's had it's first service now already. I've no complaints at all.
I recommend the Cruiser. Top speed about 60 probably but I rarely go over 50. Around town its fantastic.

I have been looking to buy a moped for my fiancé and I came across Direct Bikes. After looking at their site I found what seemed to be the Perfect machine, showed my fiancé and she loved the look of it, so I thought happy days so I clicked on the apply for finance went through all the rigmarole and clicked apply, what came up next was a really strange message saying something along the lines of "first stage complete please confirm the amount you would like to Borrow, however it would only allow me to type a max of £1000 and they wanted to charge 250% apr so I binned it and decided to come here and look at the reviews of the company.
at first glance I was impressed 86% 5 stars, so I decided to read them.
after reading for a while something seemed off, they all felt a bit false. I have heard of companies that will write reviews for other companies for a fee, im not saying that direct bikes have done this. But it all felt a bit off. So I decided to look at the one star reviews and although the percentage was low there were a lot of them more or less saying the same thing.
So why am I giving 5 stars, well its simple really, it asks to rate your experience and I have had a good experience, as I am no longer going to waste my money thanks to the reviews of the people here be they genuine or not.
I just want to ask the people who said the company was very helpful choosing a bike, exactly how they managed to speak to someone for help because I could not find a way to speak to someone.

The 125cc python scooter is a terrific piece if kit. It is so much fun, so well designed and solid. Goes very fast. I use it to commute around 15 miles each day to and from work. No hesitations as a commuter. It handles rough road surfaces without a problem and is great in wet weather too.

Fabulous team. I am an experienced rider and thought I knew a lot about bikes. These guys are experts, they know their stuff. I used to own a vespa, the quality of their mopeds are better. Their parts and service back up is also spoy on. Would definitely buy again from them.

Buying your first moped can be both stressful and enjoyable. I did so much research and when I chose the one I wanted it at the right price. Time and time again they were the cheapest I could find. They were very knowledgable without being pushing. Always answered my questions fast. I decided to order a 125 Tommy. I very much liked the retro styling. Thereafter my order was placed I was kept informed at every stage of the process. Delivery was on time and dealt with by a professional friendly delivery driver. I was called a few days later to check I was happy with everything.
