Silva Timber Opiniones

I purchased over £1000 worth of shingles and accessories from Silva - and after some delays I received them. The pallet came shrink wrapped but not very well. Not well enough to prevent water from getting in and wetting the flimsy cardboard boxes containing the nails I had purchased. I made a mistake and had ordered nails that were too long. When I rang them (admittedly after the 7 days period) the told me they wouldn't accept the nails back in exchange for the shorter less expensive ones. I was willing to cover all postage and because I had made the mistake I certainly didn't expect them to give me back the price difference. However, it was a flat no. It would not have cost them to do it and in fact they were getting a more expensive product. Poor customer service in my opinion. I'd wonder what would have happened if they had made a mistake?

I have used Silva timber a number of times. I find the quality of their products excellent and the staff members are always happy to help and advise. I use the branch in West London and generally phone through orders and collect from site.

The cedar products are available in a wide range of sizes/styles meaning I am able to create bespoke decks and fences/screens with ease. I have regularly used their stainless steel fixings and they offer an comprehensive range of wood treatments and stains (of a very high quality).

I ordered some hardwood decking from Silva online. 6 lengths total £162 plus VAT. At the checkout it was clear that I would have to pay for shipping. "Local delivery" was the cheapest option - £40 plus VAT. An hour later they phoned to say they could deliver the (stock) items on 3 June at the earliest - A MONTHS WAIT!! Why not just say on the website "If you want this before you die of old age, buy from somewhere else" and don't waste everyone's time placing and then cancelling orders.
