What a breath of fresh air Silva timber is! After a nightmare with E-decks (avoid like the plague), these folks were spot on start to finish.
Best price, it was delivered when they said it would be, everything was there, it was in perfect condition..........why the hell can't everyone be like this?! Simple, I buy the goods, you supply the goods, no more complicated than that!
Silva timber has found a gap in the market, by actually doing what they say they'll do.

This was my first time using Silvatimber and i found the whole experience very professional, the customer service was top rate and the product exactly as expected. Overall a great experience and i would certainly use this company again.

We ordered Siberian larch cladding and battens for our new extension and we are delighted with the product. There were no flaws in the timber and so no waste. Delivery was on time and communication was good. Highly recommended. Best wishes Steven

Ordering process was very easy and some very helpful advice over the phone. Order arrived on time with good phone communication beforehand. Wood very good and delighted with our new fence!

I was very happy with the quality of timber delivered by Silva Timber and everything was delivered as expected. There were a few dead knots in some of the cladding but nothing overly worrying. The only thing I think could have been improved was the delivery time as it took about a month for my timber to arrive.

My customer had viewed several options for purchasing new shingles for his summerhouse roof. Silva had a great product at a very competitive price. All requested information was supplied and dates for collection were made to suit me picking up the shingles. The guys on site were helpful and the premises were easy to locate. Excellent service.

I met the lads at grand designs and they were happy for me to pop over to the warehouse to view the timber types. After taking their advice I placed my order and picked it up the next week. The day I picked it up it was pouring down but my wood was so well wrapped I could of floated it down the Mersey. I followed the given advice and used a quality wood treatment before it was installed, I can only describe my finished wood as stunningly beautiful!

Excellent customer service, top quality products and quick delivery, even with my relativity small orders of cedar shingles to roof the hen houses and garden cabins I make. That's why I always go back to Silva Timber.

I had seen the same product on line and was about to order when i came across Silvas web site. The product is truly fabulous and the price was nearly £3 a metre less. Extremely happy. Fast delivery and good comms made the purchase stress free. Highly recommended.

I have used Silva Timber twice in the past year, buying a quantity of primed cedar cladding and then cedar shingles and ridge caps. Each time the sales person was extremely helpful and the goods were delivered on the date promised. Good products at good prices.

I bought decking and cladding from Timba in 2014. Beautiful,high quality cedar, which looks amazing now complete. The bits that are "clear" cedar certainly are worth the extra money, but the standard, knotty decking still looks great.

I had to buy in two batches so delivery costs were high, but I appreciate that getting 4.5 tons of timber up to Edinburgh isn't going to be cheap!

Although it took a while for the specific type of wood to be in stock (not their doing), it was delivered on time and even better than expected. The information flow during the whole process was very good and a few boards that were damaged during transport immediately replaced free of charge. Would use again.

We found Silvatimber to be most helpful in terms of product recommendation and working out quantities.
They kept us informed and the shingles arrived in good time as promised.

I called Silvatimber for some advice with regards to UV protection o western red Cedar. the guy I spoke to was very helpful and I ordered the advised Osmo product. It arrived the very next day. Excellent service would certainly recommend Silvatimber to anyone

Prices are very competitive (for fencing and decking) and the website is very slick and professional, but unfortunately the customer service didn't match up, so I had to cancel my order in the end.
1) Delivery
Silva wanted £50 non specified delivery V £140 specified day. For £50 they couldn't deliver until nearly two weeks, but could do it quicker for £140. I felt pushed into paying £140 for delivery.
2)Flexibility.
Instead I arranged for a recognised haulier to collect directly, but Silva would not agree to this. Valid reasons were given, but it felt like they were being very inflexible.
In terms of samples for the decking oil paint, they would not agree to send colour charts of paint some decking with three colours and send these to me so I could choose my favourite. Instead I was told I had to pay £18 for 3 sample pots and they could send a bit of decking on which to paint them. When you commit to spending £2k on an order, you expect them to be a bit more flexible.

3) Sales technique
In terms of the product, it was only after I agreed to the order and was about to hand over my card details that they told me the wood contains 'sticker marks' and not to worry, this is normal. And that some of these would be warped, but this is normal. I felt like they were testing the water to see if I would accept sub-standard stock, and doing so right at the last minute. I got off the phone, and contacted my landscape gardener, who told me this is correct, but only a few pieces should of deck should have these.

By this stage, I had zero confidence and trust in them, and called the guy to say I wouldn't be placing the order. Instead, I placed it with another company who were brilliant, offering me all the things that Silva could not.

We purchased some decking boards and as I type the delivery is taking place and therefore I cannot comment of the quality of these products but on my service so far. I had a delivery driver turn up without any means of getting the decking off of the truck! I had to arrange for people to come and help him after I paid £140 for delivery?! I should not have to pay that for the privilege of having to offload these myself. When I called the company they were less than helpful and didnt even contact the courier to find out why this had happened. I would not use again based on the delivery alone.
