Received a Brooks Saddle not in its original packaging and with missing parts.
When complaining, I was offered to return it at my fees.

Very poor service, avoid if you can.

Excellent service. They have been helpful with advice and their mail order service has been fast and efficient. Over the years, I've bought a bike, wheels and various components. Recommended.

I have been in contact with someone called John, at spa cycles. I had asked him about buying a frame through the cycle scheme. I had an absolute torrent of abuse thrown at me down the phone, swearing on about 12% that he gets charged to do it. The man is an absolute disgrace. Wouldn't even listen when I told him the hospital I work at isn't the same as the national cycle scheme, just kept on swearing about it. Absolutely shameful. Avoid at all costs.

I bought a Lindstrands suit from Spa a couple of years ago and I wore it in heavy rain just after lockdown but it leaked. (First time in heavy rain, strangely). Lockdown took it past the warranty period but as their slogan is "If it works in Scandinavia it'll work anywhere" I returned the suit to Nick at Spa and he took it up with Halvaarsons/ Lindstrands, who, apparently, have now been taken over by Duell Bike Centre Oy (another Scandinavian firm). He had to fight for me but it turned out that there was a fault with the suit and lo & behold a brand new Lindstrands suit turned up at Spa. So mega thanks to Nick and also to Richie and John at Duell as they didn't really have to replace another firm's technically out of warranty suit.
Postscript: I stood under a hose in the garden with the suit on yesterday and --- it didn't leak at all. (and yes, the hose was on!!). Lindstrands really are good.

Based on my recent experience I would not recommend this firm for mail order purchases. I recently ordered a frame and a couple of small components through the website. It turned out the frame wasn't in stock, contrary to the impression given on the website, but to be fair they did get one in and fitted the headset and faced the frame before dispatch. So far so good, but when the frame arrived the other items were missing from the box. So I phoned to enquire if they had been overlooked, or were coming separately. They had been overlooked, but would be sent that day. By the end of the week they had not arrived, so phoned again to chase. Oh, they hadn't been sent yet. OK I said, can I cancel the order for these bits and get a refund? Yes, no problem, I'll do it now. Weeks have now passed and I'm still waiting for the refund. And they are not replying to emails either.

Which is all very sad really, because they advertise stock that is hard to find elsewhere, and impossible from the major online retailers. There are several other things I could do with that Spa list, but I won't order because I no longer have confidence that the order will be fulfilled.

Two stars for the frame at a good price, but not the other three because of unreliability and poor complaints handling.

Excellent shop with knowledgeable staff when I needed technical advice recently, and a superb range of products for touring bikes. Also very helpful with a minor issue with a recent order.

Previously reviewed Spa Cycles as being very good, which they were on two separate orders with friendly advice and fast dispatch. Unfortunately, a successive order for rims was messed up, with the order not being processed at their end - despite payment being reserved against my card - and the items subsequently going out of stock with their supplier. I only discovered this on the anticipated date of delivery when I called to see what was going on. Their response was rude and unapologetic, completely at odds with the previously great customer service I'd received. Due to the delay the rims were by then out of stock everywhere else. I had to order an alternative for twice the money and with two weeks of lost time. Such a shame as I'd happily have recommended them based on the previous orders.

Bought shimano 105 R7000 shifters from Spa Cycles. They were cheaper than any other online bike shop. They came very quickly and so I would definitely use Spa Cycles again

Cant even tell the difference between presta and schrader valves. Totally useless and hollow promises. Got the wrong order still waiting for them to correct it and have still been charged 24 hour £5 delivery premium. It's taken 4 days so far. Really what a bunch of clowns

Really fast service, good friendly communications, and first class products at a reasonable price! I recommend this company.

This is a fantastic place. I was looking to rebuild a pair of wheels, and the advice they gave me meant that I refurbished my existing hubs rather than buying new ones. They gave the best advice, even though it meant not maximising sales - really amazing service, a proper bike shop!
