Tecaz is the largest independent bathroom and kitchen company in the North East, having 3 vast bathroom and kitchen showrooms situated in North Shields, Sunderland and Stockton. Each premises shows all the latest designs in bathing, showering and kitchens, in either contemporary or Classical styling. The Tecaz name has been well known for 40 years in the Newcastle and Sunderland area from it’s origination in Boldon. The first properly dedicated bathroom and kitchen megastore opened in North Shields, Newcastle in 1985. After North Shields, a showroom in Ryhope was opened in 1999 in a 26,000 square foot former Co-Op superstore and not long afterward a 32,000 square foot Cash and Carry building was purchased in Stockton. All had the emphasis on the broadest range and best prices combined with quality. Pennywell overhead web image When the opportunity to purchase the ex-Sunderland Echo building in Pennywell Industrial Estate, Sunderland, close to the A19 was identified, it became obvious that this was a worthy successor to the Ryhope premises, therefore in May 2015 this site was acquired. Due to our huge floorspace we have a massive area across our 3 showrooms, displaying a huge number of brands, and products displayed, so you can see and feel the products. At Tecaz we showcase 150 bath and shower rooms, and more than 40 kitchens room settings, from over 25 leading manufacturers, at each shop. With a team of designers available to offer advice and free computer planning, and installation support on larger projects you are sure to achieve your dream bathroom or kitchen. With emphasis on innovative planning being a major consideration for any bathroom or kitchen project, the free computer aided design with the added peace of mind of a free service of survey before installation means that your dream can be translated into reality with the minimum of disruption. Turned up this morning for our design…

Turned up this morning for our design appointment at the Portrack Lane branch and was shown to our bathroom designer Michael.
We explained as we are getting older it was time to consider changing from a bath to a shower in our new bathroom.
Michael was extremely helpful and knowledgeable in helping us decide which goods are right for us, we were not put under any pressure at anytime.
So with Micheal's help we made our decision and ordered our new bathroom and fitting, can't wait, and the images you emailed me look spot on.

Sunderland store.

We went into the Sunderland store on Monday 18th September around 2pm to purchase a toilet and sink. The staff couldn’t have been more disinterested. While a member of staff did show us around he appeared somewhat indifferent. We got the impression that selling to us was a chore. While we were waiting to pay a group of 3 female staff were openly ridiculing a customer who was on the phone to one of them, making facial gestures etc. We found this very disrespectful and unprofessional. Providing good customer service is obviously not high on their list of priorities.

In response to tecaz feedback. The 3 female members of staff were not serving other customers but were stood around the desk while one of them was on the phone to the customer that they were being rude about. I don’t appreciate being made out to be a liar and have no reason to make this up. Their overly defensive response to reviews just about sums them up.

We do acknowledge there was 3 members of the company at the sales counter at the time, however 2 colleagues were serving other customers, with 1 colleague on a call assisting another customer. We do apologise you had a small delay before being served. Thank you for your order.

EDIT: Hello, at no stage were such allegations made, we have simply advised you of what was visible upon the CCTV review to which we completed. We of course do value your feedback, which is noticeable that you have done with many other great companies which you have purchased from. Main bathroom and en suite renewal.

Just had a new main bathroom and en-suite fitted over the last two weeks. Assistance with the design in the North Shields showroom from Elaine was impeccable. The fitting was carried out by Fine Fit bathrooms. We can’t thank Phil, Henry and the rest of the team enough. They worked so hard and we could’nt be happier with the end results. Their work is outstanding and they are a pleasure to have around. Never known tradesmen to keep everything so clean and tidy. Very happy customers.

Good and helpful bathroom designer

Good and helpful bathroom designer, a credit to the company. Unfortunately wish I had reviewed the comments made from previous customers but I can only blame myself. No need to add my reference and no need for any response from the company as my business has been concluded.

Further following Tecaz response:

I did not want to expand on our interaction on this but your response makes reference to content in the emails which I was strongly advised were private. Also you have disclosed specific detail of my circumstances which isn’t too reassuring.
My rating would have been higher but the email thread between us was not the best customer friendly experience and is in-keeping with other negative reviews but as you stated you service many customers and receive a high percentage of positive reviews.

I would suggest one week delay on an integral part of the bathroom is not minimal but as you highlighted at least I was on holiday so was lucky to have access to bathroom facilities, that was not well received by the wife. I have also never made reference to being charged by the fitter for the replacement shower screen.
To expand on the rating

Initial contact and designer :- very good and knowledgeable. Spent time with us which was much appreciated and even delivered the delayed shower tray to my address. 5 + star rating.

Customer Services :- needless to say this interaction has brought my rating to
2. Good lengthy emails which were entertaining to read.

Overall, on reflection maybe could have awarded a three but my wife would have probably left me!

I hope I do not have to add any further details to this rating and the matter is concluded.

Customer service is appalling.

Customer service is appalling.
Rude and do not want to know.
I can attach my plethora of emails and photographs to prove my complaint, if needed.
Leng from portrack lane sold me the bathroom. I have 100% positive feedback for him.
Only after they take your money you are then hit with the terms and conditions which only work in Tecaz house favour.
I have a fault on the handle of my bathroom vanity unit but unfortunately no one will take responsibility for it.
I will definitely never return to them and neither will I recommend them.
So the handle on the vanity unit hits you in the face as soon as you enter the bathroom spoiling the bathroom.
I will be going to social media and trading standards with this issue.

This is the 2nd bathroom purchased

This is the 2nd bathroom purchased. I was assured the problems experienced 1st time around some years back would not repeat. I spent £4000+ on the bathroom fittings and the same on installation. Take your money and run. After sales/Customer service is deplorable and down right rude. Inferior products failing within the year of purchase includes bath taps, shower tray and at the beginning faulted ceiling panels which they refused to take responsibility for stating I should have inspected each individually on receipt (nothing to do with their own quality control!!) so as not to hold up the fitters I had to inspect at store and purchase a 2nd time. I should have learned from my first painful experience when their fitters tiled AROUND the bathroom furnishings. DONT USE. I believe they now refer you to fitters but take no responsibility for their work. I used a professional Co. this time to fit, they did a great job. Unfortunately the quality of goods has severely let me down.

Stress free selections
We dealt with Lisa from the Portrack branch and she could not have been any more helpful when we told her we had a budget. This lovely lady was very knowledgeable about everything in the store and we got everything we needed at a totally acceptable price, one very happy customer.

Poor after sales customer services

Bought everything needed for a complete bathroom refurbishment all good appart from the toilet seat it did not function correctly showed it to two members of staff at stockton store and they both agreed wrote and sent images to customer services and then told there is nothing wrong with the seat well i suppose i can go spend 50 quid elswere from a reputable supplier and the bathroom is finished but lesson learned tecaz are happy to take your hard earned cash but not at all prepared to help afterwards i can only advise people the sales team are great but customer services are brutal i would avoid at all costs,
I must add the images and video were on the initial email but they did not see it, once viewed i was accused of being heavy handed with it, it was after this i realised this was a lost cause. I did send the required video and images but customer service advisor ross vallely is the most negative person i have ever dealt with ever, you know you have no chance when he starts his e mails WITHOUT PREJUDICE lesson learned stay clear of tecaz much better online sites with customer services that care.

You have emailed to allege an issue with your seat, but gave minimal imagery of this which then caused a struggle when trying to discuss with our manufacturers regarding a potential outcome and replacement for you.

Our last email to you on 08/08/2023 requesting a small video clip to show the alleged issue, which would then mean we could far better discuss this with the manufacturer in order to try and secure you a replacement has went un answered.

We are always here to help every customer, and we are still awaiting to give you the help you are requesting, but first we need the imagery we have kindly asked for in order to try and progress this for you.

Appalling customer service throughout…

Appalling customer service throughout the North Shields branch after purchasing a large order. Manager refusing to co-operate or to allow such to be escalated higher. As customers we feel bribed by errors on their behalf. A like to previous reviews the manager is extremely rude and patronising, not how you would expect to treat an individual never mind a customer. Would not recommend to anyone.

Mike is an absolute god send always…

Mike is an absolute god send always there to answer any of my questions which was sometimes alot even on his days of he would always reply and help me as much as he could couldn't fault the service in anyway and our bathroom is absolutely stunning everything we could of asked for two packs of our tiles were smashed in transit but again this was sorted very fast and a full refund was given straight away highly recommend

Plenty of stock

Apart from having to wait 2 weeks for a shower tray, everything else from the service & knowledgeable staff to actually buying our shower doors was perfect, even helping getting our purchases into our car. There was plenty of stock to look at, which made it a lot easier to
choose exactly what we wanted. We would recommend Tecaz.

Lots of issues..

Lots of issues..
Purchased the bathroom suite and had it delivered.
The plumber arrived and unpacked it.
Shower tray was damaged, 1st visit to exchange it...
They supplied the wrong shower screen, 2nd visit to exchange that..
The sink cabinet didn't do together correctly so had to be adapted.
I finally had it all fitted..
Within 10 months the shower failed. A new part was sent by the manufacturer which I had to pay to have fitted!
Again 10 months later the same part has failed. I called tecaz and was told the assistant would look into it. I then had to call again to chase this up. This was referred to the manufacturer again. Who supplied another part ... Again at a cost to me.
I asked the sales assistant if I could have a replacement shower as this was the 2nd problem on the same part! Was told no.
This part was fitted and within a week it's failing yet again.
I have no option than to buy a new shower (certainly not for Tecaz).
Customer care is shocking and their attitude is disgusting...
Will never use them again

Hello,

We do believe this review is from the bathroom you purchased from ourselves in 2021. You did unfortunately have a cartridge failure, which can happen in showers. You have had parts from the manufacturer which we helped to arrange for you free of charge even though you were outside of our 12 month merchant warranty.

As with any products, fitting is not included and customers will have to pay their chosen fitters for work completed.

We have reviewed our emails from yourself, as there is no calls, and we can see you have not emailed us since May when the new part was sent to yourself. You haven't came back to inform us of any further alleged issues with the new part.

You do have the customer services email should you wish to contact us to have our assistance again, which has always been provided to you each time you have contacted us with your alleged issues in the 2 years since you bought your bathroom, and as per previous times, we are confident we will be able to assist you again like we have each time prior.

Elaine at Tecaz is a star bathroom designer

Tecaz have a great selection of bathroom products when I needed to buy 3 bathrooms Elaine was amazing! She has a huge knowledge of products and an eye for great bathroom design. She helped me choose fabulous bathroom items to create stylish and functional bathrooms and was able to advise at every stage
She also helped sort delivery out and made the whole process very easy.
The delivery process was good and the 2 delivery guys were also great.

First rate customer service from Harry

Visited Tecaz today and received really good customer service. My husband and I wanted to buy a bathroom suite and were helped by Harry. He was really knowledgeable about the products and made some excellent suggestions which really helped with our purchase. He really helpful, in fact my husband and I both commented that it was a long time since we’d had such good customer service. Would definitely recommend Tecaz on today’s experience.

Excellent service and advice from Lisa who helped me with excellent advice, as I am a disabled customer who has specific equipment requirements to aid my washing/showering.
