Great customer service when I needed…
Great customer service when I needed help.
I initially tried to purchase through their website but was having trouble processing the payment so I gave them a call to order directly. They answered the phones quickly and it was very smooth to sort out my order. The items arrived in the delivery time stated and I’m happy with the worktop unit I purchased.

No quality control.
I ordered a walnut worktop. When it arrived there was a clear and obvious defect on the top of the worktop right in the middle. It had clearly been filled with wood filler and looked awful. I sent photos and was told it was a "shake" (a split in the wood - it wasn't) and advised to sand it myself. I told them it was not a shake and that I had paid for a completed worktop, not one that I needed to fix myself. They took it in for "inspection" and agreed it was not up to standard. I received a replacement (despite messing around with delivery dates and being told at the last minute that delivery couldn't be made on the agreed date). The replacement is sort of fine on the top surface but there are visible cracks and defects on the sides. I followed all of their advice on oiling etc but the sides look pretty poor to be honest (oiling isn't going to fill a crack).
Additionally, their sanding and oiling process was not very good and the top of the worktop was covered in fuzzy patches; from some research it appears that this is due to the sanding and oiling process carried out by them not being done with due care. Really it is down to me to sand and re-oil surfaces to make it a smooth finish.
I can't really be bothered to try and get a third worktop to see if third time lucky but I would say it was not remotely close to being worth the price paid for it. I wouldn't order from them again.

Service above and beyond
The sales staff told me I had missed the cutoff for next day delivery by a few minutes, but I still put the order in online. Someone must have been keeping an eye out and managed to get it shipped immediately - it arrived on my doorstep exactly 24 hours after I ordered it! Wonderful service.

The worst experience I have ever had
The worst experience I have ever had. The service was extremely disappointing, unprofessional, and stressful from beginning to end. Communication was poor, and I felt completely ignored as a customer. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

As you had requested for the goods to be left outside in your absence, our delivery team made every effort to contact you by phone and text when they arrived. Unfortunately, they were unable to reach you, and given the weather conditions at the time, leaving the goods outside would have risked them becoming damaged by the rain.
Our team therefore made the decision not to leave the goods in unsuitable conditions, as we wanted to ensure they remained protected and arrived with you in the condition expected.

Excellent helpful staff and good product range. In particular we were impressed by the fact the company offered end-to-end service including delivery, which I'm sure helped everything arrive on time and undamaged. The drivers couldn't have been more helpful, taking time to allow us to make a thorough inspection of the product before they left. In this day and age a company that offers this quality of product and service really stands out. Would highly recommend Worktop Express.
