Effective products
Came across Carbon Theory in Boots in Waitrose about 8 years ago. The black soap, Charcoal and Teatree. I am massively passed my teen years but still get breakouts due to combination skin. Using this soap stops the break outs very well. Even if a spot occurs, using the soap quickly combats the spot and stops it getting worse. I have used the white soap and the orange soap, both are very effective. The white soap is a bit more smoothing, the orange soap gives you a fresh looking skin. Boots have stopped doing it for now so ordered the Green super foods soap online, just to give it a try. Works really well, lovely lather, no breakouts so far. Great soap products.

Great body soap
The salicylic acid soap smells fantastic and is good body soap. However, because I live in a hard water area, I found that I needed to use a body wash afterwards to remove the film that was left on my skin.
Delivery was fast and I wish the soaps were packed in something that wasn't plastic.

Would never use this product again
I bought the salicylic acid facial cleanser in Superdrug as I’ve used products with salicylic acid in it before and never had an issue. After using this product twice I broke out in the worst rash I’ve ever had, my entire face was red and burning while also feeling like sandpaper. I had to go to the chemist as I thought I was having an allergic reaction where she told me my face was actually burnt. I haven’t been able to put anything on my face apart from prescribed moisturiser for the last 5 days. Wish I had read the reviews as clearly other people have had a similar experience there should be a warning on the bottle or even instructions for a patch test as I am still suffering the effects nearly a week later

I’m so sorry to hear that you’ve had a reaction to an ingredient in the product you purchased - I know how alarming that can be, and I’m sorry for any discomfort caused.
It’s really challenging for us as a brand to control the potential reaction of products on people’s skin; we don’t know what else you’re using, what specific nuances you might have, your environment, or whether you need to build up tolerance.
Sometimes even an active ingredient that would be fine for you at a lower percentage may cause a reaction at a higher amount. All of these factors can influence things a fair bit.
If your skin reaction is severe we would always advise your to consult with your doctor or ideally a dermatologist. They may be able to arrange allergy testing for specific ingredients so you can avoid them in the future.
We will of course pass on your feedback to the product development team in the meantime and if I can be of further help please email info@carbontheory.com

I couldn't live without Carbon Theory
