Engineered Inspection
Apparently, a professional mattress inspection involves taking a few photos, rolling around on it for 10 seconds, and putting down a string and a plastic card. The physical inspection of the mattress lasted less than a few minutes, and the technician was gone in 15 minutes.
The inspection was clearly rushed and lacked any sort of expertise expected. Emmiera claim these are industry-standard checks, yet I think anyone would agree a 10 second test is not an adequate amount of time to check a mattress. A full inspection should take between 45 – 90 minutes, which would actually justify the cost.
It's no wonder that Dreams uses this company for its inspections, because they don't actually do any real inspecting and are clearly engineered to be in favour of the companies paying them to carry out these jobs.
Emmiera have claimed the mattress was on an 'unsuitable base' - the mattress is situated on solid wooden panels. Structurally, a flat solid platform provides an identical base to a solid divan base. The technician carried out their report as logically the mattress is on a solid supportive base.
A £2000 mattress should not be sagging or lumpy after two weeks - but the technician did absolutely nothing credible to properly inspect my faulty mattress. The response from Emmiera makes me question the legitimacy of their business practices carried out on behalf of Dreams.

3* awarded, not for the repair - which was excellent, but the booking process. I cannot believe that booking a home repair is devolved remotely having been taken away from the operatives. I waited 4 hours only to have the repair person arrive at 4hrs 5mins without any prior notification. OakFurniture get your act into gear.

I had previously contacted this company to report a crease in the riser recliner chair mainly used by my wife we only got the new riser recliners which was ordered via SCS in November 2025 was delivered on 27th February 2026 and within a few weeks this fault was reported the technetium Elmira Group on his visit attempted to fix this and while there noticed a fault in the Riser Recliner which required the full metal frame under this chair with piston to be replaced. As I was aware a Technician was going to call on 28th April 2026 to carry out this repair I went online and reported that this crease on the first recliner has not been resolved and my concern is that as this riser recliner is only weeks old when this fault has developed what will this fault be like in several months will the leather tear etc. my thought was if I contact SCS it’s likely that the first technician to visit will return to replace the metal frame as he is aware now of both issues. It was not the same technician that visited and although he changed the frame below the chair after he left I noticed that he had left the old frame next up my bin with the packaging box next to it ( this frame will not fit in my recycling bin and my authority will charge £45 to uplift
I contacted Emirates Group to inform them of above I was advised by the person I spoke with that they would check this out and that he would call me at the end of the day which did not take place. I then received an notification to advise that I make an appointment for a visiting technician when I went into see dates I could not see anything until months from now I thought I would wait on checking again I got a message saying that I was not able to access a date for visit as my job had not been allocated or words to that effect I accept companies can be busy however this is not a new issue but an ongoing one extremely disappointed with this service and we are now in May and the matter has not been resolved extremely disappointed in both SCS and Emmiera Group

Technician lovely, company not so great
The technician who come out was very very friendly. He was a lovely guy and explained everything perfectly. He would get 5 stars alone. However, the company itself... I had an appointment booked and waited nearly 4 weeks to get to the day an no one turn up. I called up and they told me it has been cancelled due to a miscommunication between the store and them. But no one called me to tell me this, just cancelled it. The did book me another appointment but I think the communications is shocking.

Helpful, told us all along who was coming, and allowed us to pick times and days convenient. The spare parts we needed were ordered by them with a 12 week delivery, happily getting on a 2 week window which meant our couch issue was sorted quicker than expected.

Armchair repair
The Emmiera technician arrived on the due date to fix my adjustable armchair. The footrest was stuck in the raised position. The parts had been pre-delivered by Emmiera, so he was confident that he had everything to carry out the repair. He went through a process of elimination, found the faulty part and had it fixed all within about 30 minutes. Brilliant service.
