We chose to use GD Property Solicitors because of their good reviews even though they weren't the cheapest quote. Thinking that this is something that you shouldn't skimp on. I wish I hadn't bothered.

The good bits:
Abdul Iqbal - he was great for our selling of the property, always got back to emails quickly and kept us informed of the process and offered an impartial view for a few issues we had along the way. We had money released quickly and we did get the sale completed quickly. The remainder of the review has nothing to do with him.

The bad (majority) bits:
During the purchase we were quick to response to emails, yet the same is not offered by the numerous fee earners we have dealt with.

For the purchase of our property, we had 4 different "fee earners" or Conveyancers. 5 if we include the person who, as soon as we got a new fee earner went on annual leave. This massively slowed down the process of purchasing in our eyes. We had to repeat a lot of questions to ourselves and also to the corresponding sellers solicitors. Had we not been doing a private sale I believe that this would have resulting in a falling through of the purchase.

There were multiple enquiries to the sellers solicitors that were already answered by a previous fee earner or were just blatant repeated questions. This is 100% down to having no continuity.

We were requested to pay for indemnity insurance for the a potential planning issue on the house we were purchasing. Though speaking with, and seeing the email sent by the sellers to their solicitors, they (sellers) were happy to pay for any indemnity issues.

We put a formal complaint in about the number of changes and the delays we have experienced for the service - as expected the response didn't adhere to their complaints policy and wasn't acknowledged by the outlined 2 days. Complaint raised on 30th Sept, Chased on 15th October, got a response on the 17th October saying the changes were out of their hands due to people leaving.

Such a high turnover of staff should ring alarm bells for anyone wanting to use this company.

If I was looking for a conveyancer I would not be using this company, it is too much hassle.

Abdul Iqbal was excellent. He kept us informed all through the process and tried to speed things along. He was always polite and pleasant to talk to no matter how many times we bothered him. I would highly recommend him.
The buying was handled by three other solicitors and because it was three different people during the process this was not as efficient. The new solicitor didn’t always seem to be aware of where the previous one had got to.
Thank you Abdul you made the process far less stressful for us.

AVOID
Honestly the worst experience I have ever had with solicitors and so so disappointing. Was promised a quick sale, it ended up taking a year to complete, I had 4 different solicitors during the sale, all taking multiple holidays leaving and sometimes no answers to anything even after a month of chasing, No way to speak to them on the phone either, so as a client you are powerless to the time it takes and completely left in the dark, takes bad solicitors to a new level, total jokes

As I used GD to sell my property, I used them to purchase my next property. Thankfully, as can be the case with buying a house, things aren't straightforward. Fortunately I had Jaya dealing with my case again, and I had regular updates as to any changes, with assurances given. I also felt that I was able to speak to GD, whereas other solicitors this may not necessarily be the case. It really helps as it was only the second house I've bought, so often needed guidance on certain aspects of the process. I would recommend them to anyone

Amy K was an excellent case handler who explained the process clearly and concisely. I have no complaints and would highly recommend her services.

After dealing with slow, unresponsive solicitors for 2.5 years sorting out wills and properties, GD were a breath of fresh air. I had Shahla as my solicitor and she made me feel like she was putting in the effort to get our house purchase over the line as fast as possible. It was nice that at times Shahla was chasing me up for things rather than the other way round. All in all a professional experience and would recommend.

I can highly recommend GD property solicitors, especially Amy Konig. We were selling our late parent’s house, which of course is a very stressful situation. Amy was so helpful and guided us through every step to successful completion. I would definitely recommend Amy to anyone. 10/10

Excellent service from beginning to end . Cheapest quote we had which made me question why so cheap in comparison however Khurram Khan & team made this the easiest most fluid transaction . Always available to answer any questions . Re assurances when required . Can not fault and would definitely use again & recommend. Thank you for making what is a very stressful process easy and pleasant .
